Hi edoo2 do we have any interest in oxlade-chamberlin? He's a very talented player and till only very young. And sadly not get used much at arsenal as in previous years I would love Everton to buy him surely with game time and confidence he would be one of England's best players.

{Ed002's Note - Not right now Eddy and with his injury it might be tough to find someone to take a risk unless he gets some game time later this season - which may not happen.}

As good as he is I think it is far too risky as they will want top dollar for him and he is very injury prone. Got to be better deals to be done than this mate.

I thought the OX was mainly a right sided player we have plenty of quality down the right side, need a predominately left sided player IMO.

Sa90 agree with u we have enough right wingers mirallas, lennon and del boy all quality players but we do need a left winger I think one from these would do me yarmolenk, chershev and vitolo from Sevilla.

Domenico berardi from sassuolo.left footed forward player.plays mostly right side of attack but switches to left quite frequently. He's supposedly hot property and would possibly cost a bit,but only 21-22.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Berardi effectively moved this past summer and became fully owned by Sassuolo. There is an option in his contract that will see him, if he agrees, return to Turin next summer at a fixed price (€18M). Interest from Manchester City and others is long gone and with two difficult issues (a) the reluctance of the player to be transferred away from the comfort of Serie A, and (b) at the ourageous asking price no one was be biting. Sassuolo are keen to sell as they expect to get double what they would from Juventus.}

Sounds complicated to just sign a winger,and possibly expensive.back to yarmolenko then lol.

Hi Eds, it's great news to finally have some investment but then how do we stand on that and the financial fair play? Isn't the amount that can be spent linked to the amount of potential income from the the revenue streams? Although I am sure it's an average of 3 years as well which helps in the short term!
I see reports of £100m summer transfer kitty etc and don't get me wrong as I want the team improved but I do hope the stadium gets moved up as that is a greater source of revenue!
Not sure if it's linked but noticed we signed a short term deal with Avon tyres hopefully we are going to be more attractive for the commercial side and generate more revenue!

{Ed025's Note - im sure guys like moshiri know what they are doing ST, with the sky money our income has improved significantly so i cant see a major problem there, and if city and chelsea can cook the books to make it look kosher then we should be well in the clear mate..

01 Mar 2016 15:16:28
I don't fully understand the fair play rules but I know that here was an update to them relating to takeovers and economic restructuring. I believe they allow more leniency in situations such as that.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, if notified to to UEFA by December 31.}

01 Mar 2016 18:13:38
Hey Ed002 is that 31st December a one off deadline? Just wondering on the significance.

{Ed002's Note - It will be the same each year until the rules change again.}

It's great to have a big transfer kitty possibly 100million but the big problem is we have the clueless martinez spending the money.

Alfonso Pedraza, a powerful left winger at Villareal has been linked with a summer move for £2 million. Because we clearly need more wingers.

Think it's a ' one for the future' signing.think he is predominantly left footed too,which we are missing.

To be fair we could do with a left footed midfielder help the balance of the team

Here's a hypothetical one for consideration. If we vote to leave the EU, Will we be in a better position than most clubs as we only have a few EU nationals in the squad? I am presuming that all Foreign players would need apply for Visa's to remain in the country.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats something i have not even thought about sa, but i cant see it being a problem for players who are already here, but maybe future signings may be different mate..

01 Mar 2016 11:28:28
I've posted the same question as the OP on a few occasions during the past year or so, but most fans don't seem to have any particular views on it.
I tend to agree with Ed025: foreign players who are well established in the Premier League shouldn't have a problem in being allowed to stay on, but future signings may well have to meet much more stringent conditions. Time will tell on this.
A more interesting situation could be if the UK leaves the EU being followed by Scotland going independent - where would that leave future Scottish signings by English clubs?
Also, what about foreign managers/ coaches coming into English football?

I suppose it will come down to what happens with all EU nationals already in the UK. I can't see footballers being given special dispensation to remain.

As for Scotland going independent, then I presume they would be classed as EU nationals if they are allowed to join the EU that is (it would be really funny if they were rejected by the EU though) . I would imagine though any Scottish people that have been living in the remaining home union countries for over a certain time period may be given the option to become a UK national.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not actually clear what would happen if the UK left the EU. There would certainly not be any overnight change but the eventual position would likely be a need for work permits and residence permits. In terms of existing EU citizens already working in the UK, there is no plan but I would think an amnesty would be the likely decision followed by a quota system of some type. A good question but no firm answer I am afraid.}
