So, It has been confirmed from Barcelona - Delefeo is going back to them for the start of next season. I don't see this as a big loss for us, I thought a lot of the time he seemed very selfish on the ball & his distribution & crosses were very poor. undoubtedly talented though & 1 for the future! So who do we go for to replace him? I'm sure Martinez already has a plan. Thorgan Hazard looks a good bet for me. I also like the guy at Palace - think his name is Bolasie, he has blistering pace & very skillful & tricky on his day, would sign him up as a squad player anyway as I reckon we would get him relatively cheap & would prove useful!
So, we've lost the 1st of our loanees in Delefeo. what is to be the fate of the other 2? I think Lukaku has gone, but think it's 50/50 with Barry.Wilfrid Bony all day long for me.Milner could be useful too.

again why does everyone jump at players who have 2 good games, he's fast he's strong yes bolasie is decent but people going like he's a world beater, he is at his level and won't be cheap at all, palace don't need to sell, lukaku has by no means 'gone', unfortunately, bobby will do everything to get him, we have a chance, barry won't sign now IMO, he would of done by now, traore will probably be back and milner, i'm sorry but I've never seen him have a good game and I've watched countless england, city, villa and newcastle games so i'd say I've watched him about 50 times or more and he's never impressed

Agree1 Disagree1

Swan I think the fact that he has two good games means he has the potential to be a good player. Therefore, people think he may be a good signing. It’s all about achieving your potential regularly and that’s the risk. He may be a good signing but until he is signed then who knows, he may kick on at palace and put excellent performances but we still would not know if he would fit into the system Bobbie plays. A prime example would be Mata at Chelsea he was excellent until Mourinho arrived but did not fit into the new style so his performances suffered. I think Bobbie will have is targets and if he is one then so be it. Like you I am more concerned with Barry's situation I have a nasty feeling that his performances may have attracted unwated interest. Hopefully he will sign though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the OP from what i've seen of bolasie(3 or 4 games) think he would be useful to have in the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Milner tbh, he's just another carbon copy of Barry only plays a different position. Solid dependable and reliable which is exactly what Barry was. Bit disappointed in Barry I thought he would of signed he was taken straight into the fans hearts and must of felt at home here. Same old same old really "show me the money and I'll play" although it 's going to be his last payday I suppose but still, I thought he fitted in at Everton beautifully from the start. Shame really but we move on. Bigger and better than him have come and gone

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry can't sign now even if he wanted too as he has to wait for his contract to expire which will be July 1st

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Never heard of the Bosman ruling?}

What about Nathan Redmond? Norwich are down, he's young, English & didn't have a bad match for the under 21's, did he?!

IR(&K)IT

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry can sign any time Mike, a pre contract can be signed 6 months prior to his contract with City expiring. On the other hand have the club done enough are are we guilty of sitting on our hands too long. Maybe we should of pushed in January for his signature and made him feel more wanted. Dunno what's happening really though do we only he his agent and the club do

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe, given Barry's age, the way he tired towards the end of a season with no European matches that Bobby may think there is better options out there.
I would offer him 30k a week with a 30k starting bonus, that way it would be a 60k a week contract if his body keeps up with a game a week otherwise we have not wasted too much if his body starts deteriorating. Just an idea, one thing I am sure though is that if we really wanted him we would have sorted it in Jan, Bobby has a plan, also City will have a new stance given their Fair Play sanctions and need for home grown players in the CL squad

Agree0 Disagree0

City can't have any stance he's out of contract, Svenny. I dunno you could be right maybe we wasn't really interested in him long term and he was always only a stop gap. It's all speculation as none of us know for sure, it could be that if we signed him on 60k (for example) a week it would take too much a chunk out of the wage bill and impede others coming in, there could be a million reasons, he may still sign but whatever does happen the club will be working hard behind the scenes to do it's very best for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that yes Barry was quality the season just gone but without him we have Gibson to come back into the side and play alongside McCarthy and if we can bring in another player for the rotation along with the youngsters we'll be fine.

Momo Diame would be a great shout IMO and would be cheap. I'd like to retain Barry but if not there are benefits (ie. Age not being on his side and wage bill).

With Geri on his way back to barca and Martinez in doubt if we will get him has eyed up a move for hazard no not Eden but his younger brother thorgan who plays in the Belgium league scoring 16 goals . Chelsea want to develop him further and loan him out again . Roberto said that we have the best chance of getting him as Chelsea know how good we are with loanees.Liverpool and arsenal are interested but Chelsea don't want him to go to there rivals

Believable9 Unbelievable6

I hope we don't sign anyone like Delboy or Hazard the younger

we have our own youth talent to bring on next season, many had good loan spells this year and with Europa cup football our youth should get the first chance

Agree0 Disagree1

Good shout to be fair BotN., sometimes people get blinded by a youngster because he's foreign. Why not let a few of the lead and see if they stand up to it

Agree0 Disagree1

20 May 2014 13:53:40
So what botn? We have one winger in kennedy and that's it, we need another winger with pienaar hopefully going, unless you think an inconsistent mirallas, mcgrady and a 19 year old who hasn't made any appearances yet is enough to get us through playing in probably over 50 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey swan you missed Gueye

i believe Bobby will tinker more with 3 at the back and use baines and coleman as WB's more

Naismith and Kone can both play out wide and Oviedo is to come back stronger and hungrier after missing out on so much

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2014 17:00:08
Gueye is just as bad as vellios, kone can play wide but i'd rather use him upfront, naismith isn't a winger and never was, oviedo should always be a left back, I think bobby will stick to four at the back, he only used it against city because we had nothing to play for, he mau use it here and there in the future but will moatly use our normal 4-2-3-1 formation

Everton are close to complete the signing of young 17 year old centre back Ryan Robinson

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Shelbourne boss John McDonnell says that Everton are in talks to sign young centre half Ryan Robinson from the Irish side.

The 18 year old joined Shelbourne from St. Kevin’s Boys at the start of the U19 season in July 2013 after captaining his former Under 17 side to a treble, securing the DDSL 17 Premier title, the DDSL Cup and the All-Ireland trophy in his final season with the club.

Now looking to make his name in England, Robinson has already taken to Twitter saying that Seamus Coleman will look after him if he joins the Blues.

“Everton are chipping away with us on Ryan at the moment and we hope to get the deal over the line soon, ” Shelbourne boss McDonnell told the Irish Examiner.

“The initial fee won’t make us millionaires but we’ll make sure it’s heavy on the end of it. It might be better for us to go for the add-ons and everything else.

“Ryan certainly has a big future in the game. Everton would have seen a rawness to him but he has a lot going for him.

“We’d have no problem allowing him to move on to a better level in England.”

The Daily Telegraph 's 'summer splurge' double-page spread, it is claimed that Everton will have a transfer budget in the region of £18million, with Gareth Barry, Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu and Jack Rodwell all among the names speculated to be on Roberto Martinez's 'wanted list'.

18 m.? It make me SHOCK!

My god the British press do my head in. They find it impossible to give Everton any credit. If we were to believe then Barkley is off to Liverpool, Stones to Chelsea and Coleman to utd? Talk about lazy journalism. Why would any player want to leave Everton? We got a top manager with cash to spend, the board appear to be getting their act together and a new stadium is on its way. So why can't the press give us a little bit of credit and stop writing crap about our young players, trying to unsettle them

Believable14 Unbelievable7

The press see us as a selling club m8. Heaven forbid we keep a cracking player, when to the press, they would be better off at one of their billionaire top 4 clubs. It would be different if we were one of the richest clubs in the world. I read the stories and laugh, because why would anyone want to leave after the season we just had. If that's the transitional period then bring on next season. Can't wait.

Agree2 Disagree1

Personally I don't believe anything the press say I don't read the papers and I certainly don't get excited or dispondant about anything they make u. I mean write. I don't even believe the official site (remember the Leroy Fer saga) I now go by the rule that until I see them in an Everton shirt then it's not true. That way I don't get disappointed.

good little read in the telegraph online Blues if you have not seen it already

type this in google:

England World Cup squad 2014: Ross Barkley's incredible journey from Wavertree Under-10s

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Great read. I know someone who played for Ash Celtic at around the same time as him and he said the coach told his dad then that Ross would play for England one day. Apparently he stood out incredibly even at that age.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enjoyed that read especially as Kevin's a red, proves some of them aren't that bad!

Not sure about Emmanuel Emenike the Nigerian striker rumoured by the Express to be on our hit list, rather colourful history includes charges of match fixing in Turkey and allegations that he is actually seven years older than the official 27 . he has also been sent off for mimicking heroin use after scoring a goal. that rings a distant bell doesn't it?!. quite a character . but for ten million is he worth that sort of risk?

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Sounds just the player we need :/
