Hi ed
Was in Berlin the weekend before last and went to the Hertha Berlin V Duisberg game. Got chattin to a coupke of the hertha fans and they've been hearing davy moyes has sent scouts to watch their star player Ronny.
After watchin him score two and make two he would do for me!

Has anyone seen the interview with Stubbsy? There's an article on GOT. It's perfect for us fans to see the club's ambition. He said that Moyesy will wait to see the board's ambition before signing.

"It will be about his budget. He'll want assurances about what players get sold and the amount of money that he'll get to spend from those transfers. "

"He wants to see the direction that the club is taking before he commits his future to it. It's a crossroads for the board as well, not just the manager. "

I suppose it tells us that if Moyesy signs, then the club is going places - in terms of ambition. However if he doesn't sign, start worrying. For once Moyesy is stepping up to the board.

What does everyone else think?

I believe Stubbs he knows Moyes very well.

Fully behind moyes stance, it is about ambition,. the board will show how ambitious they are, can't see moyes holding out for a massive budget, just a chance to progress and compete,.

For me the board has always been the issue. Regardless of my personal opinion of Moyes (positive) I always thought he deserved a crack of the whip at Goodison with plenty of cash. I think he has called the shots a few times with the board over selling players, as I personally think the board would sell every player of value given thee chance. It is so obvious they put none of their money into the club. Final thought, Martinez, four years at Wigan and they have never finished more than sixth from bottom. He is also at a club with limited funds. If he does go there is a distinct lack of managers talented enough for the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the real reason about his contract then I back him, he wants to do well with us but if the board don't you can't blame him

Makes perfect sense and really squeezes the balls of the board, as if Moyes leaves the fans will be aware of the reason, and the board will find themselves under intense pressure.
A watershed moment, and its long overdue as Moyes knows unless he gets assurances from the board then there is no way forward

Agree0 Disagree0

As has been mentioned on here already, I believe, the Fellaini money will be key. Surely the board has to give him the whole amount to do anything with the squad. I believe he must have targets in mind to come in should the inevitable happen. The Sly money should go a long way in reducing overall debt, keeping the banks and other entitiies quiet, making whatever we raise from Fellaini sale available to Moyes. If he gets that then he stays, most likely.

The big rumour round the ground on saturday was that DM has already signed a pre contract agreement with Shalke can you shed any light on this Ed?
BlueBailey. {Ed002's Note - There is no pre-contract with Schalke - however, they are looking for a new manager and Moyes is one of three they have an interest in right now.}

If moyes leaves then we can kiss goodbye to a top half finish for the next 3-4 years, whatever manager replaces him will want his own staf, players ect. and with no money to spend it will be a very slow rebuilding job.

Anybody would think that moyes is irreplaceable the way you go on rob, it's just not true.

Agree0 Disagree0

So come on then, who would you have instead, who has done such a good a job as moyes, on the budget he has had, pushing European places almost every year since he has been in charge, and don't say roberto martinez because all he does every year is fight relegation

Thomas Tuchel i'd have but I don't expect you to have ever heard of him. He's the manager of German club FSV Mainz he works under exatly the same conditions us moyes with the difference being he does not use the excuse of lack of money for getting his teams to play good attractive football. And he's actually won a league game at Bayern Munich not bad for a small club hey, so yes they are alternatives out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike s you have no idea what your talking about. Before moyed took over we were fighting relegation now we fight for Europe most years. We get outspent by west ham, stoke etc you are deluded if you think anyone could do a better job than moyes
