I have just found out big news! My dad works with people at everton, and he heard today, that Nike will buy us an American player, to boost " soccer" in America, it will be between Donovan or Dempsey as they both wear Nike and everton choose between the two. It's what keijan done with li tie. I this is true, it would be so good! He is pretty high up at the club.................

Well we will just see, I've got a feeling you will be feeling stupid for that as there was already talks of them doing that when we signed............

TC

Agree1 Disagree0

I bet this isnt TC

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry pressed unbelieveble by mistake mate. Someone posted this when we signed and I didn't believe them but I have heard this from people inside the club aswell who normally get things right, like jelavic.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's hundreds of clubs sponsored by Nike so that means they all get one??

Agree1 Disagree0

I have a friend who works for one of our sponsors crabbies. He said they will buy us andy Carroll as he is full of crabs.

Agree1 Disagree0

If so wouldnt that mean nike would own him and not us ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would they do this for everton there are other clubs sponsored by nike so do they get a free player

Agree0 Disagree0

They are not giving us the full amount of money for the year because they are buying him and putting a cap on the amount.........

TC

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is true and heard this for a while now

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if this is true, I could've sworn Fulham shirts were made by Kappa.

Donovan plays in America does he not so why would they effectively pay for a player to leave the American league to 'boost' Nike in America?. Surely it makes more financial sense to have him in the MLS promoting the brand directly in America. Besides I can't imagine how many shirts they'd have to sell to recoup the millions in transfer and agent fees the deal would cost. Same theory for Dempsey as far as merchandise sales go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard this alot recently

Agree0 Disagree0

Met Donovan @ a Player of the Month who confirmed we had signed with Nike before the deal was announced. I then commented he'd suit the new kit in which his reply was that I am sponsored by Nike and itd be good to wear it.

Agree0 Disagree1

I could see this, we all know we're not getting alot from Nike.. Unlike other clubs who use Nike, and them buying a player as part of the deal keeps that much money away from the bank

The post says to boost soccer in america not boost nike in america, with that in mind donovan would be more likely as he is americas version of beckham so i hope this is true......grbefc

The only reason this could be true is because of Robert Earl. I used to know Robert and his family, i used to be very good friends with his daughters Beth and Cara. They used to live in North West London and our dads were very close, we did holidays in Orlando etc... My dad feel out with Robert years ago and we lost touch but i did speak to him about 6 months ago for something related to my work. He is an incredibly well connected man in the the world of celebrity, used to live in the same housing estate as Tiger Woods in Orlando, and Shaq Oniel actually, and through his Planet Hollywood chain he is also friends with a lot of big film stars. It would not suprise me if he was "friends" with Donovan as he has long planned to establish a sports version of Planet Hollywood, this could be directly linked to sportsman associated with Nike. Look i have not asked him and i would never call him up to ask him he is very difficult to get hold of these days and im not close enough with him anymore to call up out of the blue BUT i would imagine he was the major factor in the Nike deal origionally and it would not suprise me if there is more to come from Nike and the US because of Earl. When i did speak he was not happy with his investment (he is a Spurs fan) and said he will never see his money back unless something drastic happened, maybe he has decided to force the issue.

If your Dad is as high up at Everton as you would have us believe why would he risk his job by breaching confidentiality?

They are not giving us the full amount of money for the year because they are buying him and putting a cap on the amount.........

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe svenny I read all his post and he has always been consistent,it's not outrageous wat he's stating,so yer thanks for the input svenny...........tristen

Agree0 Disagree0

My understanding of the Niki deal was there was not much money if any changing hands it was about EFC raising its global profile through Niki so cant see any players signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry not buying into that myself!
I see liverpool are gettin swan &ajax from the warriors because there kit maker is warrior!

La galaxy have gone into liquidation

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to clarify, the part about the Earls being old/former family friends of mine is 100% true. The other parts of my post are meing putting two and two together and trying to fill in the blanks. I know Earl is friends with Bill which is why he bought in but he is no longer friends with Bill and he would love to get out as he is not making anything on his investment, and he is a former season ticket holder at Spurs so no real love for the blues. He is a smart man and i would not be surprised if he is taking matters in to his own hands to try and find the club fresh investment to make us one of a) profitable, or b)more desireable for a sale.

Svenny

ps i give my opinions like everyone else on here but i have only ever stated fact once and got ridiculed for it. That was about Kenwright having no desire to sell based on a conversation my dad had with his son in law. My dad is a neighbour of Bills daughter.

Moyes's number 1 target after Pienaar of course is Luke de Jong of fc twente then add a winger {Ed025's Note - de jong will cost about £12m mate...too much for us..

Believable16 Unbelievable32

Dont need de jong would rather have de foe, what happening with the Sigurdarson deal ,heard he's joining Wolves .either Moyes don't wont him or he has someone else lined up what ya think ed {Ed025's Note - i think he would cost too much for what you get..

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle have had a bid accepted 8 mil for de jong but still too much for us

Agree1 Disagree0

8 mil turned down mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle are looking at him for 9 mil, even that is out of our price range. ewefc

England youth international Eric Dier has decided to quit Everton and return to parent club Sporting Lisbon.

The 18-year-old defender, who has had two years on loan at the Toffees, believes he will get more chances in Portugal - where his family moved when he was six years old.

Everton boss David Moyes told O Jogo newspaper: "We wanted him to stay with us... we knew he wanted to be in the first team, even though there would be little chance.

"Maybe [coach Ricardo] Sa Pinto and Sporting have other plans for him."

Believable32 Unbelievable7

That's a pity, but how many 18 year old centre halves play regularly as first choice for Premier League clubs?
Cowpat Sid {Ed025's Note - not many sid..
