Where have you heard this, Skylark?

I personally think the business he has done so far is brilliant (incoming particularly - I sympathise with him in his effort to remove the deadweight as it must be quite the challenge) .

Gelling a team together takes time, I'm more than happy to bide time until the summer and see what he can do with another full window - when buying/ selling is a smoother and less extortionate process.

Hard to argue with that H a N D. I think his signings so far have been good. None of them are the finished article, but you can see the potential.

Brandts deserves more time as his hands are tied by having to get rid of so many bad signings before we can really spend. Silva on the other hand is crap as he does not get the best out of the players he has.
A good manager should get the best of what he has at his disposal, even if the squad is not good enough to win things. Silva does not, for me he should be gone at the end of the season he should never have got the job.
I must admit however that I still believe the players we buy should be chosen by the manager and Brants job should just be to get them.
This idea is a thing of the past sadly so the manager has to make the best of what is made available to him.
Please Mr Moshiri get some new advisors on picking managers as you have failed so far all have failed as I predicted.

But who has he brought in that's any good? I am only asking.

Skylark mate brands and Silva can't be judged on one transfer window as they where left with this lopsided overpaid squad and are still trying to get the dead wood out the door which is no easy task there first transfer window was good even if they are performing poorly know and there seems that there's no chance of us signing anyone in this window due to are need to offload some of the dead wood but that might not be a bad thing considering how High the transfer fees are in January how much we shelled out for tosun 27 mil I don't think he's a 27 mil player I like him as a player but he was some what over priced. I think knows the time to trust in brands and his vision and give Silva time as constant change is no good for us or are club.

But hasn't silva just made it more lopsided? We haven't really strengthened where we need it? i.e striker. I also don't understand where people get the idea from silva was a good manager in the pl he got relegated with hull and then had quarter of a good season at Watford?, all of a sudden we want him? If he was successful he wouldn't think twice about leaving us anyway.

The Times reporting this morning there could be up to £100 million of 2nd tier players sold in this January window, lazy journalism again I think.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can easily name about 10 players the club want to move on but I don't think there will be £100M worth sold in this window GB.}

19 Jan 2019 10:54:07
Pretty sure if we could get money like that in a January window that would definitely happen. The figures are wishful thinking but I reckon the intent is there.

As we all know ed, wanting to move them on and actually getting them sold are two completely different things. We'd all love to move some of the players who are not in manager plans but as fans we have to sit and wait and support whoever wears the shirt on 1st Feb.

{Ed002's Note - One way to clear the decks is to price the players sensibly.}

19 Jan 2019 13:35:17
No doubt that there were a good few players brought in under Koeman and Sam's that were simply not good enough, we will have to take a hit on most them and get the best we can, Mr Moshiri was ill advised probably by Walsh, don't think will happen under Marcel.

Hi Ed don’t no what rest of u think but me let’s start at top after few matches silva jury is out on him evidence is there in front of him few players lazy rubbish should not be playing for us silva we need a bloody striker we need a attacking midfielder we need a winger we need a right back and sell the rubbish we have Pickford again jury is out on him weather it’s confidence or what sort u self out defence I’d play Mina instead of Keane Walcott rubbish richarlison not good enough b a lone striker it’s not hard to see major changes needed else we going b in trouble oh by the way top striker needed our chairman must b scratching his head what do I do if we don’t pick up soon think silva days are numbered and to top it of silva says there won’t b any signings this window oh rubbish confidence running through my body being in top half of the table . not Everton get a bloody grip rant over lol.

Have to agree Ed, better to lower the price, get some money in and free up the wage bill.

What Everton have to do, is not let any more go out on loan who we want rid of, take a loss and get them shifted out.

Thought the appointment of silva we would be going forward but looks like we going backwards out of the whole team I’d probably keep half rest get rid start again but decent players not has been a or rubbish way our transfers have been over last few seasons nothing to shout about how many players can everyone see we get by transfer window shuts I’ll start 1if we lucky.

Not just about pricing the players sensibly. The issue is the ridiculous wages paid by Koeman, Walsh and Fat SAM. Players won’t want to move on from those contracts as most are so rubbish they have no chance of getting a similar contract elsewhere.
This season is about players having a good go in FA Cup ( we pray) , about some players learning how Silva does things, about Silva seeing who is up to the task and who is not and plan for a busy summer of ins and outs.
Imagine a tradesman needing a hammer but having a toolbox of screwdrivers and pliers. That’s where we are.
Hammers are better priced in the summer.

{Ed025's Note - love that analogy dave..quality mate..

20 Jan 2019 10:06:06
But surely the tradesman would get at least 1 hammer in as soon as possible so he can work till summer, lol.

{Ed025's Note - maybe we just have too many tools spikey.. :)

20 Jan 2019 17:01:57
we certain;y do ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear the coaches didn't agree the prices paid for players.}

20 Jan 2019 17:13:02
Depends if anyone is selling the hammer you want!
At a price you willing / able to pay.

Cos nobody wants to buy our spare screwdrivers.

Whilst I accept the coaches may not agree the prices paid for players, that would be the DoF who i also mention, i am sure they have varying degrees of input as to how important a player is to their plans, and thus a decision on how much we pay TF fee wise / wages.
I think the managers input will be less so under Brands who has his own plan / strategy and whether that is with Silva or A. N. other he will stick to it.

Walsh unfortunately was like a fat kid in a sweet shop who just found £50 and wants to but everything that takes his fancy.
