Alfred finnbogason looks absolute class!

He is a complete striker he can and does score headers, free kicks, penalties, inside the box, outside the box (basically wherever he wants)
He is very skilful, and reacts to situations very quickly and cooly. Also 58 goals in 62 games is quite an incredible statistic.
Do hope we snap him up would be an amazing signing.

Have any clue on what herenveen where asking for him ed?

Believable10 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - around £6m TMH, looks good to me as well mate..

6 million sounds like a great price.

Agree3 Disagree0

Being prolific in Holland doesn't mean he will be good anywhere else. Afonso Alves was the most complete player in the world based on his performances in Holland; absolute shambles in the premier league. I'm not sayin he'll flop, because you can never tell, but don't be too disappointed when we probably don't get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finnbogason has been taken under the wing of Marco Van Basten, who has developed him brilliantly since signing him. Some might say that he's not good enough because his current form is a fluke, as he was rubbish previously, but I believe the opposite, that to go from a headless chicken, no footed orange cutter one year, to a 40+ goal striker the next that something has clicked in the players head. Aaron Ramsey has been hit with negative press about his ability countless times in the past, but with the form he's been in this season is now regarded really highly and almost any club would want him.

I read what you said about traore Ed but is there any genuine interest or is it paper talk? Paul Smith whoever he is reckons he(s signed on loan.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - hes just a hack joe, but this does seem to have some legs mate, its not in the bag, but there have certainly been some rumblings in rumoursville..

I have reason to believe that MUFC are going to offer 30m for Baines and Evra

Believable4 Unbelievable30

You've been staring at your crystal balls too long mate. If Evra leaves MU he'll most likely play out his career in France.

{Ed025's Note - or the zingari league.. :)

Didn't he bid for baines when he was still under contract here? Now he is bidding for his own left back again at man utd? Needs to check himself in at the local ward

Everton are set to hijack West Ham's potential loan deal to sign Monaco forward Lacina Traoré.

Believable16 Unbelievable5

Yes, just been reading that from WH sources. Passed medical and agreed terms and then walked out apparently. Cited us as the reason. rubbish or truth? Who knows as so much is being bandied about.

Agree2 Disagree0

I thought a work permit was only for the club who applies for it. Isn't it legally binding? He doesn't have to play for west ham, but he wouldn't be allowed to play for us if that's the case. Might be wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul smith from the mirror says the deal with us was completed this evening and will b announced tomoro.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would definitely be worth a punt he has quality and fits the mold of striker we are searching for

Agree0 Disagree0

He's 6' 8" so let's hope we do not resort to long balls. But good crosses from the wing is another matter. 2 up front would be a nightmare for anybody's defenders - if true of course?

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently he's got a hamstring can't play for a month who ever signs him

Ed is there any truth in the lacina traore hijack loan move from under the hammers noses? We've been linked to a lot worse

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - you think joss?, i would like to think we have moved on from bang it up to the lampost mate..

Not a bad move IMO can play lukaku or mirallas up top & maybe change the game if need be with a big man up there with traore plus we will have more funds in the summer to get a top striker in maybe 15 to 20 million hopefully support any player who plays with passion in the blue jersey COYB

Agree0 Disagree1

Traore is a little bit more than that

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont have to bang it up top.keep playing as we are and let the wingers cross it for him.6ft 8inches makes me think he will score goals with his head. Not sure bout his feet tho.

Roberto says on tv tonight we are after a new striker, have we any serious contenders and price we can afford COYB

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Says he has about 15 players on a list Who he os looking at, so it may be more than one addition

Everton have become favourites to sign Fletcher from Sunderland this morning after news came in that Benfica had joined race for Michy, source ssn

Believable12 Unbelievable22

I've always been a fan. He's a good all round striker. He is well grounded and could be prolific in our team. And British!

Agree0 Disagree4

No, no. say this one isn't true

Agree4 Disagree0

Good striker but injury prone just what we don't need!

Agree1 Disagree1

We get linked with a exciting young belgium prospect and up with a complete pile of rubbish. He is about as prolific as jelavic or kone. can't see the point in selling jelavic and getting this cretin in. what's you thoughts on fletcher Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I seen him at Hibs when he was younger and he looked the part back then, Celtic were close to signing him when he left for Burnley and I was disappointed at the time. The last couple of weeks he has been linked again with Celtic in a £6m move but I think if we were going to push the boat out with that kind of fee we would get better from abroad, someone like Finnbogason from Heerenveen. I was never Jelavic's biggest fan, I thought he was far too lazy, and I don't think Fletcher is any better ability wise. If I was an Everton fan the prospect of signing Fletcher wouldn't excite me in the slightest.}

Terrible if true. We already have a liability who we will struggle to move on in kone. Totally uninspiring.

Agree1 Disagree0

Id rather sign berbatov for 2million and that's the last resort

17 Jan 2014 09:56:54
Alright Ed, could we still go for Michy, keep being linked with having to fight off other clubs for him, the latest club being Benfica?

Believable14 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Why do u think ed it takes us so long to make our move for transfer targets

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect your expectation are too high.}

We've got to be a more attractive proposition than Benfica. Premier league football(and wages), his agent is also Kevs and Roms, possible champions league with a quickly developing English team. Also the possibility of being our number 9 at the start of next season. Come on Michy lad, you know it's right. COYB

A little rumour being banded about by Evertonians on social media that Baines has asked Everton to agree a deal with Man Utd.
Please don't shoot me for posting this!

Believable10 Unbelievable25

I've heard he signed new contract isn't it?

Agree5 Disagree0

Ide do a deal with them aw mate, and I know this has been asked loads of times but I would do a swap deal with rooney and at the moment he doesn't look happy at united, and stanger things have happend in football, and we have cover for baines now so why not.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's just signed a new contract

Agree1 Disagree0

Stop making stuff up, he's signing a new contract. Go back to your own rumours site.

Agree1 Disagree0

Nothings been announced either way so either could be true. Considering the news he signed broke two days ago, the club haven't moved to verify it which leads you to think that he hasn't signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The new's he's signed and the new's he's asked for a move away are both just rumours. We won't know anything for certain until it's announced. And ToffeeTony, did you not read the post? He said that this is just something he's read on social media and not to shoot the messenger. No need to be hostile.
