Now that "Whipping Boy" Victor's gone to WBA, I see the so called Evertonians have turned there attention to Osman.

Ste 1878.

He is coming to the end, okay for bench, need to get a solid midfield, too light weight for me.

Haha, the attention has been on Osman long before Anichebe left

Agree4 Disagree1

It was actually Naismith before Saturdays game

"Haha, the attention has been on Osman long before Anichebe left"

You actually think it's funny abusing your own players?

Ste 1878

Agree4 Disagree2

Naismith gets far too much stick too, they need to do one and support someone else.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ossie won't feature much when everyone is fit. Consummate professional, important in and around the camp and a great servant.

abusing our own players? yes! we have opinions and osman isn't good enough so he shouldn't be playing, name one team who doesn't have a player the fans think isn't good enough?

Agree2 Disagree1

Listen, there's no need for public berating of players but it's clear for all to see that Leon Osman is just not good enough any more. If Martinez has any sence he will be nowhere near the first 11 when all are fit

Agree4 Disagree1

We have been complaining for ages of having a threadbare squad. Every squad needs the likes of Osman in it to bring an alternative off the bench when needed. Sadly I think Ozzies legs have gone and he can't perform the up and down role for a full 90 minutes anymore. he is the consummate professional though.

Think you are all out of order. I think after all this time Ossie deserves our support if is having a dip in form at the moment. Unbelievable some so called supporters. Don't support much do you if the first thing you do is write a good player off at the first opportunity. As someone else said go "follow" another team. Everyone is entitled to thieopinion but Ossie deserves a break. He is owed that much.

Agree2 Disagree1

Everyone will soon start praising him when he scores a goal that will win us a match, our fans are the same with a number of players.

Agree1 Disagree1

Football is dog eat dog competition - if you can't compete you fall away - Ossie's big enough to look after himself but they all get to that stage - I think he's been strolling around too much for at least 2 or 3 years but the managers thought he was the best we had so fair enough - he played - now we have quite a few centre midders so he will probably play less and he probably expects that himself - he gets dispossessed too easily

Agree2 Disagree0

Osmans never been good enough to play for Everton, can't pass more than five yards, loses possession all the time, he's just too lightweight.

Agree2 Disagree0

There is a difference between 'abusing players' and thinking they're not good to start every week. Although, there's no point hurling abuse at him, its not his fault if he's picked

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Sep 2013 20:33:00
after all this time he deserves our support and we aren't real fans because we have opinions? he isn't good enough end of story

Agree2 Disagree0

Is this the same Ossie that was in the England squad not so long ago?
When the going gets tough, the tough get going and Osman will start playing better when the weather turns nasty.
I am contemplating moving seats because of the grown man in front of me keeps moaning about Naismith and Osman and I don't want my Grandson to think it's the "Everton Way" to single out certain players.

doesnt take much to get in the england squad mate, sterling got in it after only playing 18 minutes for liverpool, young is in it and has hardly played for united and mccarthy got in it after one game against liverpool for reading

Agree2 Disagree0

Osman is not good enough to play in a team challeging for Europe. Simple as that. Ste 1878 I agree that fans should get behind the team, but they also have the right to hold opinions about players. who are you to tell people not to complain?

Agree2 Disagree0

Osman scored more goals last yr than he has done since 08/09 season! Wish people would look at the facts before saying he has been strolling around for 2 or 3 seasons!
Keep hearing that ''all you have to do is put a shift in and give 100% every wk and the Everton fans will love you''

What a load of cr@p! A dedicated servant like Ossie who bleeds blue and still fans just piss all over him! Pathetic! And as for the poster who reckons it is easy to get in the England team because Sterling did. Well I don't hear you complaining about Barkley's cap which he has got after playing feck all for us!

I'm with Degsy on this one! Embarrassed to support the same club as some of these persons!

Ossie was one of if not our best player last season in terms of holding their form. He also played very well against chelski. give him a break and get behind the lads.

okay then barkley shouldn't of been called up big woop, just because someone has been at the club a long time and is a blue doesn't make him good enough anymore, we are entitled to our opinions so stop being so aggressive

Agree2 Disagree0

SEAMUS COLEMAN. So many of you banged on about how he was not good enough, not fit to wear the shirt.
Osman is class, has been for years. He has two feet which hardly any other premier league player has. He was instrumental in setting up the goal on saturday not just the cross which was over hit, but the build up play. Watch his control as a ball comes in to him waist height, he controls it and moves it on beautifully.
As for Coleman I think he is now my top of my pile in terms of personal fav players. Great attitude, bags of pace.
Point is we are fans, yes we are entitled to opinions but keep them in the pub, not at the ground. To say all other teams have players they don't like, well we are not other teams or other clubs, we are Everton, all for one, one for all we forever.

To summarise then, we are all entitled to our opinions but also majority think Ossie is a great player and still has plenty to offer. That's great. Keep up the good work, I love these debates. The ine about him strolling around for the last two or three years cracked me up! Didn't watch the derby at our place last season then. And although I think he was a good player for us and he moves on with my blessing the only player I think has strolled at times over the last two or three years was Felli. Big games yes but against smaller clubs no, Wigan in the cup last season a prime example. Makes you wonder what some people see but as I say all opinions valid and contribute. This is what football is about, our fans love a good debate be it in the pub or ground. What I would like is an even more intimidating atmosphere at Goodison!

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't stand these people slagging ossie, the lad is class, the ball sticks to his feet and he is instrumentral in a lot of what we do, granted he's not blessed with pace, but his eye for a ball and control and ability to keep hold of the ball under pressure is exactly what we haven't had in the side for years, all these people slaggin him are the same people who slagged felli for being rubbish? and dare I say it were calling barkley last year for a few stray passes in his cameo's. Some people really boil my piss at times as they can't look at positives just look at getting people out of the side to play someone else to then slag them off when they have a poor game!

svenny coleman WASNT good enough but he proved he is NOW, osman WAS good enough but not just this season but a few games at the end of last season he has no pace and is not as good as barkley, gibson and, barry and mccarthy and should not be playing and ste 78 or whoever the origional poster is stop being aggressive towards people who have an opinion

Agree1 Disagree0

It's pretty obvious that Osman will be dropped when McCarthy / Gibson are back. Looks like Osman position will move to squad player rather than 1st team which is fair enough. Still think Osman been one of our best players in recent year! Would he make our first 11 of Everton player in last 10 year? I think he'd be close.

Agree0 Disagree0

The way I see it is Roberto Martinez doesn't pick players on reputation. He sees Osman in training every day while we see him for 90 mins. I do agree that his form is slightly off but I don't agree with the strolling around for 2-3 seasons. If RM picks him just support him. His form will get better.he is playing in a defensive roll and he was always a attacking midfielder

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't have thought so from where I sat/sit Osman put in a shift. I didn't hear nary a word from anyone around me. By heck though I have not heard that wall of sound for years, also had no idea that Barry could play like that. If Lukaku hits the ground running and if Martinez sticks with that mix of play and grit, he will make me eat my earlier words.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Sep 2013 18:25:57
Robbi spot on there! Love the boils my pi@s bit as well! RM has bought himself some time with the Barry signing and the win against Chelsea. Let's hope it doesn't go to pot at West Ham. I for one thought Barry was a great signing and one game in he has proved me right. I have been one of RM's biggest critics but the Barry signing has done a lot for me in terms of him having half a clue. So I am ready to eat my harsh words as the season unfolds, but fair play to RM after the weekend. We rode our luck at times and capatalised on Chelseas short comings but we won! And against Mourinho as well! Brilliant.

Interesting that the vast majority of people on here who say Ossie is not good enough/is a bad player feel the need to do so anonymously. I can understand it though, who would want to admit to talking utter garbage?

Ossie may not be in the best form of his career right now for whatever reason, but he is still a decent player, can/does still do a job for the team.

He is also an Everton player and we as Everton supporters (The clue being in the name on this one) Should support him through a dip in form, not start hurling abuse and rattle his confidence more!

Agree1 Disagree0

he may be a decent player but not good enough to be a starting player, should be fifth choice midfielder and is anonymously posting a crime? okay I will leave a name from now on if it makes you feel better

Mike-Ox Long {Ed025's Note - nice one...a lot of the pages have converted to named user only posts, and require a log in, this page will be going the same way in the near future..

Think this is proving how mch he means to the fans!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's fine for people to criticise Osman on here, everyones entitled to an opinion however doing it at the game is wrong especially after the way he has represented our club for so long.My personal opinion is he is not playing well at the moment and should be dropped.No-one should be guaranteed a place in the team based on their past performances.

17 Sep 2013 21:11:03
and what is the point in that ed? doesn't stop people from other sites posting or anything like that so what will it do? and criticizing players at the game isn't right okay, we will all sit there quietly and praise howard for the pass which nearly lead to a goal, we will praise distin for that back pass

Mike-Ox Long {Ed025's Note - what it has achieved on other sites, is that nameless keyboard warriors can no longer cause mischief, i cant see why it should be a problem, not only is it courtesy, but also more personal when replying, you dont have to put in your real name...freddy the frog or something will do..

okay I get it but these nameless keyboard warriors can create and account and be jut keyboard warriors

Mike-Ox Long {Ed025's Note - they can only do it once ox...then i will ban them mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike-Ox. Obviously there is no crime in not leaving a name and no it doesn't make me feel anything. What it does do however, is allow me to respond to your post, as oppose to just being able to narrow it down a bit by putting "To an anonymous poster." And this being a rumour and banter site that is kind of the point of it.

How are we to know genuine Everton fans putting forward an opinion as oppose to RS or Utd trolls that seem to get so much enjoyment from posting garbage on here?

You have your opinion and that is fine with me, as it happens Ossie would not make my starting 11 at the moment form wise. But that does not make him a bad player or not good enough for Everton.

My opinion for what it is worth is to defend a player who has been for many years and continues to be a great servant of the club regardless of current form from those nameless trolls who wish to abuse him rather than have a civilised debate on the subject. {Ed025's Note - well said WtG..

not going to argue with that mate, I like ossie I really do I just don't think overall he is good enough for a starting 11 place he just doesn't have the tools our other midfielders have, I don't believe he isn't good enough for everton he just isn't as good as others we have in his position and I will leave it at that I respect your opinion too and I agree 100% with that last reply

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike-Ox I'd agree with your post, for the starting 11 we now have some great competition for places which is fantastic from our point of view. I think Ossie will play his part over the course of the season with cup games and such like, hopefully next season European games too. He may be a kind of Alan Harper/Kevin Richardson of the current era for that.

Ed 025. Like the idea of the log in posts only mate. I think it will be good for the site and should make your task a little easier ;)

Agree0 Disagree1

As a lifelong blue I swapped seats to save arguing with fellow fans who felt they had to have a whipping boy each season! Carsley, Hibbo, Osman and now Naismith, I agree we are all entitled to an opinion but some people have no real idea and base their's on nothing more than what they hear others say! I have actually heard a fan question a previous managers decision to not play a certain player and when his friend asked had he seen him play he said no but I've heard he's good!
We need to get behind ALL our players!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2013 08:40:15
As a nameless poster I can't see the difference? I don't care about who it is saying what. I've not seen any abuse from nameless posters and a oretty equal balance of views from both types. {Ed025's Note - you dont get to see the abusive posts mate..i delete them..

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, Osman is still one of the top players, not just at the club but in the premier league. He is just a bit off form at the moment. I reckon he'll come good again and give us a couple more seasons before he does lose it. However, I also see the need to keep giving Barkely game time and get McCarthy going so there is a lot of competition for spots and he may start sitting out a few. I was one of those who didn't rate Coleman but I stayed quiet and gave him a chance and now he's great. Ossie may be going the other direction but give him the chance he's earned.

Every day, on average, 20 babies are born in Liverpool Women's Maternity Unit.
Utd and Chelsea are aware of this and are about to purchase offices nearby.
When the 'waters break' they are then in the front row to offer contracts to all newly born baby boys with 'add ons' (free Pampers/Rusks etc) avoiding having to negotiate with Everton at a later date! {Ed025's Note - love it mushy..

See according to the Mirror, I know I know a shPte paper. Mourinho now warning Roman and the Chelsea fans not to expect the glory they had with him before!, honestly that bloke. Won the league last time as Utd were weak, if he can't have a go with the current state of other teams and how ppoor they are then he may as well go now! My prediction he'll leave Chelsea next summer and return to Porto.
