So if the Sams and company are gone, does that leave Dunc in charge of the first team for now?

Alan Myers was saying that Silva is favourite, Fonseca is also an option but I'm pretty sure ed told he had a tentative agreement over a contract extension and Conceicao is the other option like some have said on here. Promising options if true.

Hi ed's, any idea of time scale for a new manager? If it's silva does the complaint from Watford need to be 'concluded' before a deal can be finalised?

Very please Sam has gone and brands has come in, I would owner of liked Walsh to stay as a scout. Let's all get behind whoever is the next manager, give him and the team abit of time and fingers crossed this is the very early stages of building something great at the club.

Well this is it Sam gone, Marcel Brands in as DOF, big clearout happening exciting times ahead whoever comes in, am sure Mr Moshiri has done his homework this time and we will have someone in charge we all be proud of, Bring it on.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i see moyes is now second favourite to be our next manager GB, talk about out of the frying pan if that happens mate..

16 May 2018 16:56:31
Blimey Ed don't go down that road LOL.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i know mate that would be my worst nightmare..

16 May 2018 17:07:46
Hopefully Brands will now have a big say in who the new man will be, and it won’t be Moyes.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope not woburn..

16 May 2018 17:43:40
I like what Marcel Brands is saying about the fans and how he wants us competing at the top, music to my ears.

Agree5 Disagree0

16 May 2018 18:42:06
Well if we get Moyes back we will be competing at the bottom GB. I hope ed cleans his mouth out after saying what he said :-) Disgusting, disgraceful, diabolical, dreadful, disastrous, darn it can't think of any more lol.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - If I was the Everton board I’d go all out for Unai Emery. A serial winner, superb contacts within the game, tactically astute, meticulous planner and a thoroughly nice guy. Give him a 3 year contract and he would get you playing again and maybe challenging for Champions League places.

16 May 2018 18:49:05
Sounds good to me.

16 May 2018 19:00:47
That doesn't include Moyes Nick mate, don't scare me as well.

16 May 2018 19:20:12
Imagine Emery and Brands. Ooh suit you sir.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - emery?...".ooooh you are awful smit"...but i like you.. :)

16 May 2018 19:26:40
I would have Emery even if he cost more than Silva because Silva looks to come with a hefty piece of compensation
Is anyone else looking at Emery?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 19:49:18
He would be excellent mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 20:03:36
How proficient is Emery's English?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we can forget emery to be honest hugo, hes possibly in the top 3 eligible managers in the game at the moment and will have bigger fish to fry than everton imo mate..

16 May 2018 20:19:21
Better than Allardyces Hugo.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 20:57:40
GB. Moyes was excluded in ed 0333s sentence that started "A serial winner" lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 21:04:34
Well we just got rid of the Dick, so time for the Emery.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - ha ha, very droll. Me likely, lol

Psv confirm Brands is joining Everton, looking like an exciting summer! COYB.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

16 May 2018 15:42:04
Yep. I was going to say. In was surprised at earlier rumours that he wouldn't confirm for a " few weeks" that didn't sound plausible. Good times. Feels a big step to erasing the last year. COYB.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 May 2018 15:45:11
I know what you mean I'm already a much happier supporter the only problem is trying not to get carried away after what happened last summer.

You can enjoy this.

16 May 2018 16:42:55
Too right great to see at last.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2018 17:30:38
Sam has gone, we can move on. No need now for cudda, wudda, shudda. He's history, as is Koeman, Martinez, Moyes et al.

Brands is the big positive. He now has time to see who he and the club can appoint in the "Head Coach" role. Then a team around him can take the club forward over the next 5 years. If we are having this conversation again before that then we are in danger of becoming Sunderland.

Personally, now Brands is in, I would like to see if we could also get Cocu from PSV. Just won their league, plays attacking football and could attract players like Lozano, De Vrij and the lad Jahanbaksh from AZ67.

Not convinced with Silva, doesn't stay long after initial impact and his win rate not very good.

Exciting 12 weeks ahead. Add to an ok squad with quality and weed out the bluffers and hangers on.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2018 17:42:47
No, i agree with BLUE79. We can't just forget what a bad season last season was and that we need some massive changes.

Yes, Brands is a great start and to get him in early is vital. But i remember being in the same position last year when we got Koeman and Walsh in. No one is telling me that they weren't excited. Koeman for his value in world football and how well he did at Saints and then Walsh winning the league with Leicester. Look how that turned out.

I am as positive as they come but maybe the fact we all expected so much last summer, coupled with the bad start, made things worse.

There are still a lot of weeds that need digging out of the club. Getting the right manager in is massive for us. I don't want to be getting another manager in, in the next 12 months. It makes the club look shiteeeeee.

God knows who we are going to get, I think most out there, that we can actually bring in are risks.

Its great to see changes being made, but i think it would be better to not get all hyped up again, until we start seeing changes transferred on to the pitch.

Up the blues.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2018 15:07:21
Allardyce said: “I'm shocked, disappointed and disgusted that the football club didn't have the decency to tell me, my Director of Football and my staff about the changes. Walsh not told he must be going as well.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 May 2018 16:22:51
He was all manner of things until FM signed him a cheque for £6 mil and sent him on holiday. No doubt to 're emerge at WBA? Probably win the league but hey that's where he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 15:00:37
Do Watford have a legitimate reason to now report us to F.A 6 months after the alleged tapping up regarding Silva or are they just trying to make things as difficult as they can for us and Silva?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 May 2018 15:49:39
I don't think so Toffeeal I think we will pay the compo fee and that's it to me it's making Watford look very petty I was talking a a journalist on Twitter who accused Everton of tapping Silva up I asked him 2 questions 1 does he know what tapping up actually means and 2 has he any proof he refused to answer both questions which tells me a lot they are very angry that we offered them 12 million which they refused and will now get nothing.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 May 2018 16:25:32
Well that's clearly just it.
Watford aren't happy with our offers (been a few I've been told) and officially he's on gardening leave so isn't a free agent.

Watford obviously have lost their patience and are now making official complaints.
It's all a squeeze. A few will be agreed just before it seems to get messy and all will be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 17:33:30
When I heard Watford were taking us to the FA, I thought it was because we sold them Tom Cleverley . if that was the case I'd pay up under Trade Descriptions Act.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 May 2018 18:47:28
Well if the Watford problem cannot be resolved in one week I would move on. The last thing we want is it to drag on and on and end up with a manager coming in with one week to go before the start of a new season. We want whoever they choose in asap to give them plenty of time to review what needs doing with Brands.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2018 13:36:44
Alun Myers on his personal twitter account just said he expects brands to be in within a couple of weeks.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

16 May 2018 15:10:59
Weeks? That's not a good sign.
I'd expect an appointment in days otherwise it's defeating the point of getting sorted before the summer.

Would like to add, thank you BS for your 7 months in charge. You got us out of a troubled situation. And got us to finish 8th. Which would have been a dream for most of us at the point he picked up the team. But he isn't the type of manager to get us to the next stage. Push into the top 4. Looks a bit of a pipe dream looking at at how we played in comparison to the those above us. I am now excited again for next year now that BIG Sam has gone and rumoured with some big (ish) names. Silva would be a great signing. My preferred choice would be Fonseca. But silva is who I wanted 7 months ago. So I would be very happy with him. Who ever it is: let's GET BEHIND HIM AND let's GET BACK TO THE TOP WHERE WE BELONG! Could be the last few seasons in goodison park, let's make it shake!

16 May 2018 13:26:22
I think you hit the nail on the head EFC. SA was the manager needed at the time to stabilize the team and stave of relegation fears. No, it was not pretty, but it worked.

To progress the club's aspirations and achieve European football and hunt silverware will take a whole new management team and front office. This is happening.

1. Thank you Big Sam, Little Sam, and company for helping the club. I wish you fellows well.

2. Let us name a DOF and manager soon so we can plan for next season and make proper targeted acquisitions.

3. And get behind whomever Mr. Mo hires and support the club.

Agree2 Disagree2

16 May 2018 13:35:42
I thought out of them all Sammy Lee at least tried to get the players moving forward and gave his best shot, cannot fault his enthusiasm or determination so on that I hope Little Sam all the best in his future.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 May 2018 14:37:52
It's a shame they never announced it earlier, to get rid of the negative atmosphere. I would of stayed past the final whistle to give the 2 Sams a clap and good send off. Sam did the job asked of him.
Now we need to start a new project and hope it's more successful this time.
