Apparently we are going to go in for Gianfranco Zola after the play off final, the board are impressed with the job he has done at Watford with a tiny budget. My mate is so confident of his source that he put £4000 on it at 80/1 at Paddy power and now they have closed the market.

Believable11 Unbelievable23

Loaned most of his players from Italy. So what has he built really?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just the man for us - quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Your mate is losing 4k

Agree0 Disagree0

If people said pick Zola. I pick Troy Deeney. Zola 's job not much pass to Deeney he can do all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't he have been better taking the 200/1 on offer with betvic (still available)

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way that a betting agency would allow a single bet of 4k when it comes to manager odds.

Smacks of BS. Tiny budget? You do realise have his squad is consisted of loan players and a lot of Udinese players due to the partnership they have?

No chance of Zola

Agree0 Disagree0

Zola is still 80/1

we have made move for poyet and poyet has just been suspended by brighton. gibbo

Believable11 Unbelievable24

We have not made a move at all, it only says that Poyet has said he was going to leave the Gulls, don't go scaremongering, GuernseyBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Utd fan here had a tip its Poyet was 6/1 an hour ago now he's 7/2. Supposedly 2 or 3 separate sources this is from

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet has been suspended. However, that does not mean he's been approached.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fulham could ultimately be his destination. Never been impressed with his style of football at Brighton.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2013 22:45:56
Maybe he's Wigan's or Fulham's next manager

Agree0 Disagree0

No it does'nt just what 've heard

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet was arguing with his chairman over his transfer budget, won't be comin here then!

Agree0 Disagree0

No we have not, he has had a fallout with his club, and if he is going anywhere it's fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think so mate as Everton would never approach a manager already in a job without permission first.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure someone is saying big money on other managers so the odds go out on martinez, inventive to say the least

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2013 17:27:21
We approached M Walker and got fined!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2013 19:27:24
Big money has backed Phil Neville to be the next manager in a number of leading bookmakers. Inside source.

Believable7 Unbelievable21

Neville was the man recommended by Moyes to be his successor
AJ

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it an inside source if all the bookies are baking it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Got a mate who works at one of the biggest. There was a sudden spike 2 days ago and it was big money. The cost to the bookies in question would be around £1m just for the bets I know about. Someone has obviously heard something. Then again, they might just have 000s to burn.

I have it from a friend who works at the club, they have put together a shortlist of managers. They are looking for value for money, compensation that will need to be paid out and ability to work with a small budget.

- Roberto Martinez
- Neil Lennon
- Gus Poyet
- Gianfranco Zola
- Malky Mackay

Who would you most like to see?

Believable5 Unbelievable25

Rafa. JP

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true then Kenwright would have gone against what Moyes said the other day about the next manager needing to be experienced, and not someone with no experience at all, so can anyone really see Kenwright going against Moyes advice because I can't so for that reason I don't believe it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Zola all day for me. plays some great football. not sure on martinez. defo not lennon. poyet jumps ship when things don't go his way. unsure about mckay.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of they above.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is your friend? A member of the board or just a fragment of your imagination? Know where my money is going.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez: Going to Malaga
Lennon: Horrible little man, no.
Poyet: No experience in PL
Zola: Not good enough, got West Ham relegated.
Mackay: No PL experience.

So to sum up, I hope we get none of them apart from Martinez but I feel he will go to Malaga.

Agree0 Disagree0

Zola, all time favorite of mine, love him at goodison.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of the above

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of those five I think Zola would be best for us. that is if Martinez goes to Malaga

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2013 23:11:09
If your argument is correct then why have a shortlist of managers that will cost us in terms of compensation they are all under contract.
Managers who are available would fit your criterion better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit fishy that lad

Agree0 Disagree0

Every transfer window, everyone has a mate/taxi driver/cat/dog working for the club who knows more than kenwright

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see the board are looking outside the box (not). Why can't they open their eyes to a new breed of manager in Tuchel from Mainz
Cheeks

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2013 08:28:33
Non of the above!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone of the others except Neil Lemmon, he is a piss poor manager with no class, even most suppoters of the dark side don't rate hm, 1 st choice has to be Martinez but if we go for the cheap option I would nt be dissapointed with Drunken Duncan, love the big fella

stubbs to be named new boss, players were told in a meeting this morning, good authority,

the real gone kid

Believable12 Unbelievable28

I hope this is true I love stubb he's like a brother from an other mother get it coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is a joke because if it isn't we're sure to implode dark days indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not! No experience what so ever, our board have no ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

To reply 2and3 who would you have

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not too, would like to see him as our number two though as I do like him, and I think he deserves a chance to come coach at top level COYB

Rich84

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality fella but not his time yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Love stubbsy but not the right time at all, maybe in another 10 years when he has experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps when he has had a few years management at small, lower division club, ( like say wigan ) then he might be ready for a shot with top class club like ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

In a perfect world Stubbs and Dunc but this is too much of a gamble, we have a real chance to challenge the top four so we need a manager who has the experience for this. although it pains me to say it Benitez is probably that man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone has to start somewhere folks. He might turn out to be top drawer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see it kept in house, Stubbs and Duncan. or even Duncan and Neville. Neville knows Moyes system and although they don't have much management experience, they could give them a short term contract and see how it goes, if it goes pear shaped, then get someone else in. Could'nt see many people motivating a player like Duncan. but maybe I'm being too much of a romantic. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well considering the new manager won't be named until the end of the season. Think you might actually be telling a few fibs!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets face it - its all a risk no matter who comes in. the way I see it its all about minimising that risk and trying to improve the team you have. I am going to show my hand here. my preference would be Rafa with neville, Dunc or stubsy or all of them in support. You maintain your core of respected blue noses. let them learn from a great manager (he is whether you like him or not. he is a great manager. sr aside gillete and and his side kick caused lpools problem. not him) and when the time is right any three of em take the reigns. that's what I would like to see. jlaff

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard that Rafa may be going to Napoli. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Why "in a perfect world Stubbs and Dunc"? That kind of thing might work at (with the greatest of respect) Braintree, but we're looking to progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ray Stubbs? Kenwright's always liked thinking outside the box.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't go if they appoint the fat Spanish waiter. End of. Reckon I'm not alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last poster. if he won us a trophy. u wouldn't go on supporting. course you would

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm well aware (with the greatest of respect) smart arsx, that we've got to progress, but I'm also aware that we've got to do it on a shoe string and no top manager would either be attracted by us, or would be willing to work under our budget. (Wavertree Blue)

Malaga are reported to be intrested in Roberto Martinez they have agreed to let Pellegrini leave at the end of the season and have now set there sights on Martinez. Stef the blue

Believable24 Unbelievable9

Good I hope he goes there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dilemma Martinez seem good for underdog. Now we became more than that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets just go for Mike Basset

Rich84 {Ed007's Note - Isn't he still at West Spam?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga similar to us in Primera Liga, however the style of play might suit him better in Spain?

Personally I think he is far too set in his ways and that has proved devastating for WAFC (league wise )

We need a manager that puts Everton F. C. 's PL sustainability above any high minded>>>>>

'short ball' 'keep the ball on the ground' 'passing game' 'if we can't play pretty I'd rather lose' dogmatic mentality

Blue247

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank God for that! 6 games a season they win. Relegation zone and refuses to bend from "football" principles. I'd rather be in the PL than win a cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent point blue247
