David Moyes could raid Rangers again with a bid for Nikica Jelavic's former partner in crime, Steven Naismith.
The 25 year-old has a £2m release clause in his contract at Ibrox after agreeing to a substantial paycut earlier this season as the crisis-hit Glasgow side tries to stay afloat.

West Bromwich Albion have apparently tried to land the striker on the cheap but without success and that may open the door for Everton.

Surely that could go on someone better and not injury prone, trust me hes just another mcfadden. No thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

I am not too sure about him, but the last time I wasn't sure about a player from Rangers, well, he turned out to be amazing.

I have heard Naismith can play as a second striker, attacking mid, or even if need be a winger, so his versatility would certainly be welcome, and has been one of Rangers better players, so for 2mil, does seem a good deal, although, I would like to see us sign Pienaar before him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely they won't sell because Rangers have a 12 month transfer embargo on them.

Taken from todays daily mail:

"Following recommendations from Jelavic, who described Naismith as the best strike partner he has ever had, and Goodison coach David Weir, Moyes is said by Merseyside sources to be a a huge fan of the player, although he may have to release funds from sales of his current first-team squad before turning his attention to the Scotland international."

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen him 4 times i can understand why jelovic rates him the best partner hes ever had

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it just me that thinks he is really poor? Every time i have seen him play he has been awfull

Agree1 Disagree0

Just asked a Celtic supporter in work about Naismith. He reckons he is a decent hard working player. High praise from a Celtic fan.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes its just you

Amid reports that Tottenham want as much as £5m for Steven Pienaar, Sunderland are said to be lining up a bid for the South African.
The 30 year-old's emotional interview after the season closer against Newcastle suggests that he'd rather stay at Goodison Park but such a price would probably be well beyond David Moyes's budget.

The Blues' boss would surely balk at paying so much for a player in the later years of his career even if he had that much cash to splash this summer.

Original Source: Daily Mail

Believable18 Unbelievable7

Pienaar is vital, if its 5m, Moyes must pay it as he makes the whole team thick. If the whole budget goes on Pienaar so be it. {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

Never trust the daily mail

Agree0 Disagree0

Cut and paste from a paper, worse than my aunty works in??

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than cash why would he want go therebottom six side {Ed024's Note - There is only one place pineaar wants to go and that is goodison

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2012 21:48:43
After sseeing what 5 million did in January a similar and realistic move could be.

In
Pienaar
Naismith
Diame

If needed could move out Rodwell and Anichebe but I'd like to think we could do those 3 without lots of trading.

Believable22 Unbelievable4

Would rather move out mucha, unwanted youngsters and unused players instead of those 2

Agree1 Disagree0

If you dont think pienarr is worth 5 mil you should go to spec savers {Ed025's Note - i dont think anyone has said he is not worth 5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a thought here, wasn't Benfica was apparently interested in Joao Silva last season, now he's not getting playing time here so why not offer him as part of a deal for cardozo if we want him? knock a few million off surely! he'd be perfect for us

Believable29 Unbelievable3

If he's going to transfer anywhere, Portugal is certainly the most beneficial financially for us due to his string of good performances on loan there. Taking that into consideration though I still think someone vastly unproven like him will not sell for much money, moyes would be more likely to run his contract down and release him.

It's a shame he can't settle in England because i've seen some of his game time on loan and he looked potent, absolute monster of a right foot aswell.

ToffeeJack.

Agree0 Disagree0

If not I would like to keep joao because what i've seen of him he's pretty good, but if he's not playing he has to go! I forgot to put my name on this post btw
Toffeepidge

Agree0 Disagree0

Good future player silva but prefer cardozo

Liverpool FC have appointed Ken Dodd as new manager to avoid having to change the intials on the tracksuits {Ed025's Note - ....nice one

Believable35 Unbelievable2

That one is funny, but let's be honest that would be something BK would do if DM left!

Agree0 Disagree0

.....And they won't get laughed at as much!

they have already started.. it was the players, give him another year, we won the full of members (i mean carling cup). get rafa back.. mourinho will be next... no its pep... they are comedy gold.. proud to be blue and living in the future.

Believable29 Unbelievable1

Rafa or mou could be reds but pep is untouchable for the red s**te (he is a very good manager for a very low range and miserable team).

Agree0 Disagree1

Mourinho has stated before that he would never manage that lot. Everton yes, the dark side no.

Current favorites for Liverpool job!

Ian Dowie 3/1
Steve Coppell 4/1
Sven Goran Erickson 5/1
Alex Mc Leish 6/1
Darren Ferguson 7/1
Steve kean 8/1

However if as expected all of the above turn the job down the American owners are e pected to approach Kenny Dagliesh about the job ( they've already forgotten they've only just sack ed him)!! {Ed025's Note - please let it be macleish..

Believable22 Unbelievable2

Anyone of them would see me laughing untill the beginning of next season

Agree1 Disagree1

You forgot another Anfield Souness coming back, he is bringing the boot room mentality as well, big nose Tommo, jean michel ferri, igor biscan, and a new tea lady vlad smicer

Agree1 Disagree0

I bet if your manager was asked to do the job at liverpool he would take it.. {Ed025's Note - no chance...his life would not be worth living, and why would he want to go down market anyway?..

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2012 18:07:14
the same source that first said we we're signing Jellyfish has now said that we are looking to bring in Steven Naismith, I'm not sure I'd like to see this, wouldn't it mean we are likely to sell on of our midfielder's? hmmm
Toffeepidge

Believable4 Unbelievable16

Rangers are in a lot of trouble so Moyesy could be hoping for a couple of bargains from there. We need to carry on building a strong squad and Naismith could be good enough to be a part of that, especially if we lose the likes of Mcfadden, Mucha and maybe send a couple of the younger lads out on loan he could be needed.

James

Agree1 Disagree0

I have to admit I haven't watched him much, he's there best player and everything from what I've heard, but were not likely to spend money on more fringe players. I just don't like the thought of Felli or Rodwell going, atleast not yet anyway...
Toffeepidge

Agree1 Disagree0

Moyes will not let Felli go. He is building the team around him and Jelavic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith will be your best player if you get him

Agree0 Disagree1

Naismith as a clause he can go for 2mil

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2012 17:34:34
pienaar for 4 mill if tottenham will let go however if they dont we will go for depsey for the left (although he can push up..) we will definatley have a look at donovan no idea about price though and with hoillett contract running out everton are set to bring him in, fingers crossed

hopefully next season team will be:
howard
coleman jags heitinga baines
hoillet rodwell felli gibson pienaar/dempsey
jelavic

bench:
new gk, distin, hibbo, neville, osman, cahill, anichebe

Believable15 Unbelievable13

Coleman?
(Andy the Chef)

Agree1 Disagree0

Bench osman? your having a laugh. {Ed025's Note - for me..thats a good call..

Agree1 Disagree0

Are you Moysie in disguise? Felli, Gibson and Rodwell, how defensive is that!

Agree1 Disagree0

Not if Felli is playing up field behind Jelavic!

I think thats a good team as long as Coleman can fit the bill

Blue Bones {Ed024's Note - Felli does play well in his advanced role, i hope coleman steps up this season, because i rate the lad

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope so lets keep what we have and bring in the youth

SpekeBlue

Agree1 Disagree0

Benfica are selling him to free up their wage bill and their in the champions league and have more money than us so i doubt this will happen, But we can still hope

Cheeks {Ed025's Note - how many old ones do we need?...i imagine that the dressing room will smell of stale urine..and digestive biscuits!

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam Jonno not picked, Downing and Barry in the team, shameful.

Good news for us is that Adam Jonno may want more first team footie so hopefully he likes the Blues

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes left our, sturridge, lennon, jags, crouch and richards, hes took carrol, downing whos had a shocking season and has henderson in reserve, wtf

Agree1 Disagree0

I will still support england but that squad is a joke am in shock.Same old england picking players because they play for certain clubs and not picking players on form, absolute joke.Terry blue {Ed025's Note - i agree terry..

Agree1 Disagree1

Same old faces was time to move on new blood Carroll my god ste44 {Ed025's Note - i am surprised that shearer, and sol campbell are not in the squad..

Agree0 Disagree1

They should have Jags&Lescott at the back, and why is Carroll in there!, he can't hit a barn door {Ed025's Note - and that rat bag...john terry...he might as well have took joey barton..

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Carroll will be good, and he always seems to score in big games against us, but Downing how the hell has he got in the squad in front of Adam Johnson pathetic really!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's like this "Everton and England don't match" they have never done us any favours.

everton after jamie mackie and matt phillips {Ed025's Note - mackie has just signed a new deal at QPR..

Believable1 Unbelievable29

Matt Phillips would be a very good signing, if Blackpool don't get promoted, surely we could look at him, don't know how much he would be worth, but has been very good this season, and I think he is a PL pedigree player.
