finally heard a little bit of transfer news thats of interest, this link with markus henriksen seems to have some legs, i lived out in sandnes for 3 years and watched quite a bit of tippeligaen football while out there so got to see henriksen come onto the seen for rosenborg, played a little bit second fiddle to skjelbred but since he went germany henriksen has come into his own, almost identical to cristian eriksen at ajax in the way he plays, very attacking box to box midfielder that likes to play in the 3 man midfield, but anyway i still have family out there and alot of them have said the rosenborg fans seem to think hes everton bound, or atleast we have deffo made enquiries to sign the lad, he nearly signed for club brugge in january but didnt want to go belgium after a 1.3 million fee was agreed, he then rejected the chance to go palermo as italy doesnt appeal to him either, apparently he wants the prem or to stay at rosenborg, just over a million is certainly in our price range, hes a player that would slot into our midfield, younger and far more complete than rodwell plus he has creativity, not saying its happening or im in the know like just what ive been told is flying round over there, you know anything about it ED?

When I first heard this rumour! early on in the week, I decided to have a gander on you tube!.. Now! I think the lads defenitly got talent! . And his style of play is very simular to rodwell! and he knows where the goal is, In there league, they get so much time on the ball , it crazy!.. So I think he may struggle in the premier league, or take along time to ajust!..But if your poster is correct in his evaluation of him," 1million" then if he is in moyes,s thoughts, It would be a good signing!....johnmacfromfazak

Agree1 Disagree1

How old is he?

Agree1 Disagree1

Do we need another CM? Rodders gonna be great this seasn if he stays fit, only played about 6 games on the bounce last season and scored a couple.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hear we're after Gustav Fullstop from Bremen, Dash MacGregor from Dundee United And Mario Semicolon from AC Milan - all very much needed.

I live in Mold North Wales, i was in our local Tesco earlier and my mate came over who is a Liverpool supporter and said there's your new striker there, It was Micheal Owen, he had been speaking to him and told him he's had a medical today at Goodison.

Believable19 Unbelievable43

Ive heard owen is 90% heading to everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! {Ed025's Note - hey!!..thats my line..

Agree0 Disagree0

So wheres the other 10% of him going?????

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt no he had moved to chile coz thats the only everton hell play 4

Agree1 Disagree0

This is becoming a realy lazy rumour

Glen the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Who made this quote? I live in Flint
EtidAaron

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen would be good on a pay as you play / score / assist basis - not for being injured or not really bothering etc

I'd put him on something like 20-30k per week basic plus 10k per goal, 10k per assist, 10k per win bonus (if he's on pitch during winning period etc) - that kind of thing - he'd be busting a gut to help us get goals {Ed051's Note - ay as you play sounds good

Agree1 Disagree0

(that was by 'clozem' by the way)

Agree0 Disagree0

Waste of 20K-30K imo. id rather see him on a lower basic with more incentive to assist and score pay as you play or go away {Ed025's Note - no basic for me...just pay as you play..

Agree0 Disagree0

Does he need much more money. ? I could see us using him a lot more than fergie did. To come on in the second half.

Agree1 Disagree0

The other 10% is his pace. Regretfully, that is lost forever! BlueTone

Agree1 Disagree0

These re my favourite types of rumours. The footballer in the supermarket/petrol station in some minty backwater or hotel or hspital were your mate/friend/wife works. I'd be well happy with Owen on a PAYP basis. He scores goals when fit full stop. Not much of a commute from Mold either.

Agree1 Disagree1

Your mate in a liverpool supporter? hmmmmm

Agree1 Disagree1

Owen would be better off training as a jockey for one of his horses we dont need a has been !!

dublinblue

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be very disappointed if he signed. Not as disappointed as when we resigned that useless waste of rations McFadden!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Even at United where he was a bit part player he still averaged 1 in 3. Hes a boyhood blue, continuing that average if he stays fit does that not pull at the heartstrings of footballing romantics? a 2 year indian summer for his boyhood club, knocking a few past Pepe in the process! Like Darth Vader taking his helmet off and turning nice? I'm well up for this!

Agree1 Disagree1

As they say don't shoot the messenger i saw Mr Owen myself, but my mate was talking to him and that was his reply. I can't stand the guy to be fair but when it comes down to Everton Football Club we need players like this. COYB.

I reckon Pienaar joining has stalled because Baines' future isn't definitly here. No point in buying Pienaar if Baines goes. {Ed025's Note - i dont think that is a factor mate..

Been told by a youth coach that baines has been training on his own for the last week. Looks like he's on his way {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable2 Unbelievable38

Pretty sure Bainesy is still on holiday, players in the Euros have an extended break.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, he deserves an extended holiday. he did loads in the Euros didn't he.

Agree1 Disagree0

It doesnt matter what he did or didnt do, he had no holiday, was training with england everyday, hence he gets extended break, so he can have a holiday!

EverTheOptimistic

Agree0 Disagree0

Every pro trains privately on holiday... AO

Agree0 Disagree0

My god some nonsense flying round. Baines was given extended time off from full training due the euros however hes well known for starting his training early. Some sad little people trying to jump on this site rather than their own team`s says alot really the fact that there`s a press campaign agaist everton aswell as there rouge fans posting nonsense is biggest backhanded compliment when you think about it, they want to be blues. {Ed025's Note - well said mate...sadly lacking a name..

Agree0 Disagree0

Folks want to upset cus they know how close we are ARE,havin THE TEAM

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is not and has not been training on his own. In fact he has been sized and provided with new training kit and boots for the current season with Everton.

Every player has a price. If Man Utd fail to meet our valuation then speculation is just that.

Everton have quality players and they are only sold on our terms. Lescott was the example. The difference being Lescott wanted to leave with a double your wages offer. Baines is a different person and happy with life at Everton. Unless we get an offer of 18 million plus.

Believable1 Unbelievable26

2 million down the drain then

Agree0 Disagree0

I HOPE NOT!

NeilA_1878

Agree1 Disagree0

Just no!

Agree1 Disagree0

According to Wiki, he signed for Spurs 4-years ago. So he must be out of contract sometime soon (unless he renegotiated at some point which seems doubtful). I know he is a bit of an person and has been **** since Blackburn, but there is a good player in there somewhere. If he did sign, and Moyes turned him around, it would be an excellent signing.

The potential is there, and given his stock is low, he can hardly demand top wages. Moreover, Spurs can hardly demand a top price for a player that never plays and is soon out of contract.

I'm sure Moyes has mulled him over.

Agree1 Disagree0

I know we re skint but I hope we don't go for him. He used to leave near to me and he is an absolute tool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Re: My post above about him being out of contract soon.

I just checked on the BBC and it says he signed for potentially 6-years. So looks like Spurs have an option to pad it out for another 2-years.

Been told by a coach at everton (1st team) that he thinks the banks are demanding money so we will sell baines and give 4 mil to banks and have about 12 mil to spend on players, pienaar set to sign aswell

Believable8 Unbelievable38

More r/s rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Been told by another Kopite that we are selling Baines to balance the books for the umpteenth time and is now getting bored with this repetitive post..
Everton coaches sign a contract of secrecy and would not jeopardise their jobs for someone who has retention issues

Agree1 Disagree0

More of the same kopit trash, baines is not leaving, except in the event of an offer in excess of 20m, and unted do not have the jucis to pay with the big boys an longer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to know were all this the 'banks demand money' comes from!
we have loan agreements with a bank/banks/financial companys which ever it is, just like 'me' or 'you' would have a loan/mortgage, just evertons is on a bigger scale. you agree a monthly repayment, which you pay, tell me, cause its never happened to me or anyone i know, when does the bank just ring you up and say 'hey we want £500 off that loan by next week or else!'
it does not happen! so all this b*ll*cks the bank wants is utter sh*te!
i would believe that any money generatted by sales in the past was put away in a account to cover out goings short fall, like the reported fact we run on -5 mil a year, but never the banks 'want'
and the feeling i get is that we are covered, hence the money made available for players, in january and now, or out of worry of losing moyes they have made money for players available now.
if banks were asking for money, it would be made alot more public, ie gillet and hickups.

EverTheOptimistic

Agree1 Disagree0

More r/s rubbish is correct, very repetitive (another transfer window, another Everton are in financial mess story), quite ironic from someone who supports a team who were half an hour away from "doing a Rangers"

Agree0 Disagree0

More pathetic rubbish from the darkside of the city, concentrate on your own pile of crap and leave this site.

Agree1 Disagree1

If anything given the new tv deal, the new shirt deal, prize money from end of last season and ongoing season ticket sales. The pressure from the banks would ease around this time of year. It's when fixtures have been cancelled midwinter and the clubs planned cashflow goes to pieces that things have got pressured.

Agree0 Disagree0

EverTheoptimistic has hit the nail right on the head. Lets face Kopites are trying to deflect there attention of their own club and there problems and stir it up with us bless em. I nonchalanty dismiss the rifraf.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to evertheoptimistic.
It's the overdraft that is the problem. And banks do ring people up and ask for repayments on them. Particularly in a modern day recession. I'm not by any means saying the banks are calling some of it in coz I don't know, but it is possible because as you say our overdraft will keep expanding if we dont make payments as we run at a loss. Let's hope they don't, that we sign peanuts this week and pick up a couple more before next month! No reason why we can't grab European football next year then!
Yorkshire blue

Agree1 Disagree1

Yorkshire blue

You may well be right there we may well have a overdraft, but I don't think it run to the extent of 4 mil plus, like I said I think past sales have been placed away to cover shortfalls, the board have probably learnt off past mistakes and kept on top of the finances, hence no one coming in for the past how many seasons, and again I agree with the banks wil call, but this is usually if your banking is bad or you go over your overdraft, which I really can not see everton being run in this way, so again I really don't see the banks calling for 4 million!

EverTheOptimistic

Agree1 Disagree1

Fair points all of them mate, I suppose the truth is it's all guess work. I really hope the club has kept on top financially as I reckon over the next few years a few teams will struggle to keep up payments and we could see a few top clubs doing a "rangers", which will put us in a strong position. Especially with the new financial rules on qualifying for Europe! I will be interested to see what happens to clubs if the big money men pull out or get bored too. Everton seem to be thinking long term which is good for us as a club!
