What a performance what a result.
City will never win the league again IMO with Pep 'one dimensional' Guardiola in charge.
I would much rather have RK at the helm rebuilding our club than this fella.
Had it easy at his last 2 jobs with no real competition and he now knows what we knew after 3 years with our Spanish fraud, possession doesn't win matches goals do.
Never been a fan of Pep and always thought he would falter in the EPL and its looking like I may be right.
Anyways onwards and upwards blues and the shape RK wants, looks like it is taking shape nicely.

The Premier League sorts them out.

Don't write him off just yet boys he is a world class manager I'm sure he will turn it around

Agree4 Disagree4

15 Jan 2017 19:47:35
I agree he is a class manager however it does also show that in the Premiership there isn't such a huge void between the top two clubs and the rest of the league, here there are 6 teams currently all vying for the title and there are the other 14 teams who can take points of you!

It's a tough job in the Prem!

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jan 2017 19:52:29
He is still one of the best managers in the world regardless of this loss, to compare him to Martinez is not realistic, if you don't see that then you need watch more of his teams and what he has done before he came to the premier league.

I see man who cannot adapt his philosophy in real time during games.
When they went 2 down he did nothing to address the way his defence was set up.

I'm not Mourinhos biggest fan but today his United side were creating chances yet were getting closed down by lpools pressing, so what does he do? He changes it so they play more direct to counter the pressing style. That to me is how to manage a game.

City continued to try and walk the ball in against us and didn't change at all.
Some say he is great, I say the Barcelona side was set for him by Rijkaard and by an influx of talented players coming through at once and then at Bayern, well he didn't really have much competition in that league.

Is he faring better than his predecessor? So far I think not and with a defence set up like the way he likes it then City won't keep many clean sheets.
I just don't buy the great manager hype around him.

Pep has a touch of Martinez . Catalan, possession based football and stubborn

15 Jan 2017 22:24:44
Should we be bothered about other managers, no let's be excited about the young talent we have and keeping them grounded . Who cares about pep? Not me

Everton should remember though one great game doesn't mean we are back to being great

I agree King, what is the point in having a go at other Managers or Teams. Concentrate on our own. Great result yesterday but one game does not make us a great side suddenly.

What it does look like is that Koeman is getting us and to me he looks ahead of schedule, but two years he said and two years it will take. Best game I have seen us put together this season, unlike others I think that system suits Koemans style of play as well.

So sorry to the reds across the park - but it's official, we have the new Steven Gerrard! Take a bow Tom Davies. he's going to be a top top player for club and country!

The lad was excellent and looks one hell of a prospect.
But let's not build him up and compare him with others just yet.
Because you just know that after one or two bad games there will be blues who can't wait to criticise.

'Only one Tom Davies'

Today showed us that negotiating on transfers is very important. Take John Stones for example £50m + an assist. No wonder it takes so long.

I'm embarrassed by the "fans" booing stones. The lad was always respectful to our club. We should respect that.

To be fair he didn't really leave under bad circumstances, we got a massive bid for him and he left, I have no ill feeling toward him. It was from a very small group of supporters though at least. On another note, what a great performance!

15 Jan 2017 16:25:02
You get em everywhere, from Football to Votes and all the rest, they just don't think and just look how they react when you take them to task, mindless and ignorant. That was a wonderful performance, I nearly choked on my pint when I saw he had included Barry (respect but he is slowing up that is just a fact of life) and would have taken a draw. Once we started playing though and saw the determination I was really chuffed. RK for me is ahead of schedule, you have to wonder who else he and Mr Walsh have got up their sleeves.

15 Jan 2017 16:57:17
To be fair AB a lot of them were laughing when they were doing it. Not sure many would want him back in place of Holgate.

15 Jan 2017 17:57:18
I get it guys we're all passionate about the club. As it was live on sky with a lot of interest in the result I just thought it was a missed opportunity to show what a class act we are to all. And show the reds we're not the bitters they believe us to be. But as above. Great result. Loving the feeling. Hopefully this'll show the doubters what we can do at Everton!

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Jan 2017 18:01:21
For me Holgate is a better defender than Stones because he does exactly what you want him to do. defend! None of these Cruyff turns in our own half! Just plain and simple no nonsense.

15 Jan 2017 19:32:08
I don't get what the problem is? The same fans were booing Sterling as well! I wish john stones every success as I'm sure most blues do, but as fans if us jeering a player from the opposition makes him uncomfortable and make a mistake then surely that's how it should be! If fans who pay for a ticket can't boo or cheer as and when they want then I'm afraid football is dying!

Agreed Fanatic. Gana and Sch probably first choice CM. After that McCarthy is in line imho. Barry played very well today but is not long term at all. McCarthy could be.

Hi Ed I see in various rags today, Jags to have talks over his future, i would be very sorry to see him go he's been a great player for us over the years, and now age is catching up with him I suppose, if he does go I wish him the the best of luck, he deserves it, all part of the R K revolution, GuernseyBlue

15 Jan 2017 12:08:04
Agreed GuernseyBlue. Age comes to us all but when we stop playing is different for each individual.

Never in a million years but I'll put a wild swap deal out there like Woburnblues the other day.

Seeing Southampton look like looking for a CB with Fonte leaving and probably an experienced one seeing VVD is still young. Jags for Charlie Austin.

As I said never in a million you years. Also remember Ed002 saying Austin wants to remain down south.
