If money is available we should go for Adel Taarabt to replace Arteta and ease the pressure off of Barkley because he is still only 17 {Ed025's Note - taarabt is a very good talent, but we are talking 10- 15 mill....way out of our price range..

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Don't deny that Taarabt is a talent, but he's a selfish player and wouldn't be happy unless he was running the show at Everton, which he's not good enough to do i.e. there's a reason why Tottenham kept loaning him to QPR and finally got rid.

If you watch a full game, you'll see that all he does is get the ball and shoot....rarely passes, and whilst I don't deny we need someone who's not afraid to take a shot, his style would be to the detriment of the rest of the team....fine in the Championship...not good enough in the Premiership, as this season will show. RB

A mate of mine at work is a season ticket holder at QPR. He said Taarabt is a good player 25% of the time. Doesnt track back, show pony and sulks a lot. Not the type of player we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with both posts. He seems like a lazy, sulky git and at £10m would be approx £9.99m and a mars bar to high for us {Ed025's Note - just a mars bar is too much for us!..

Dispatches on Channel 4 last night revealed that an Everton player once tested positive for cocaine in a midweek "out of competition" drug test. The FA will not disclose the name of they player and there was no ban because the positive test was not on a matchday! What does everyone make of that? {Ed025's Note - i think drugs are rife in football today, what we have is a plethora of young lads, on fantastic money, and the temptation that goes with the lifestyle. makes it very easy to succumb to temptation. the fact that it was an everton player saddens me, and i believe that all players should be tested by the club on a regular basis..

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Im 30 now but when i was 18 i was in the 051 club in liverpool, i heard two lads talking in the toilet and both of them were snorting coke, next thing francis jeffers worked out, this is when he was at his best and and the 'next big thing' I just looked at him and called him a F*%ing joke. He then got sold to arsenal for £7 million and his life went down the pan... this lad once had the world at his feet......

Agree0 Disagree0

Early rumours say it was Jose Baxter {Ed025's Note - its all speculation..who ever it was...i just hope the club takes the appropriate action..

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you sure mate i'm posative that van der meyde admitted to gettin spiked when he was at are club and it was well publised that he had alot of problems stayin out of town on the ale ? just a thought but i'm sure it was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look drugs are for mugs i earn 21k a year not 2.1 mil a year if i was to take any i would be sacked end of so name and shame them give them help if not f@k them off we pay the wages. sorry anti drug rant {Ed025's Note - im in your corner mate...big anti drugs guy, the problem is..if you name and shame them, how will you get rid of them?, who will take them on..

Agree0 Disagree0

Taking illegal drugs must be a breach of contract under gross misconduct, I'd terminate their contract and save on the wages. Who cares who'd take them on, more fool them if they do, They either enter into a rehab programme and commit to working against drugs like Matt Stevens the Rugby player and take a ban for two years and then they may have earned the right to play again. These people are role models for kids and therefore with the money they earn they should act like role models and live their life accordingly. There is no excuse. Rant over.

Agree0 Disagree0

The lad's name was Billy something, Jones or Wright? he was a kid who had potential and went off the rails and got into coke etc. he got sacked and so he should have done. Idiot. {Ed001's Note - you are right, it was something like that. It was a no one and that is why the program never bothered to find out his name.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You are thinking of Billy Kenny. It's much more recent than that. Only the club, the FA and the player know who it was and they ain't tellin!

Agree0 Disagree0

It was probably someone like JO, Matteo Ferrari, Per koldroup - wont be any one that is still playing for us nor a player that was a regular {Ed025's Note - i think you may be right, because moyes does not suffer fools gladly, and i am sure he would come down hard on anyone who he thought would take any illegal substances..

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazzer apparently tested positive for coke when he took his medical, before he signed us, but Smith asked the doctor to hush it up. He wrote he wrote somthing about it in his biography. Then there was Billy Kenny...and let's face it big Dunc was partial to a line or three, when he was knocking about with all of his gangster chums. It is isn't right when knobheads like us are paying to watch them but coke is a fact of life for the modern celeb. Hopefully something will now get done about it. It probably won't however, cos half the FA are probably on it. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - how very sceptical of you wavo...the majority of footballers are clean, but i do agree that it is a fact of life...mor is the pity..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I'm being more realistic than sceptical Ed. It just get's me down that many a decent footy player's career has been blighted by the booze and the drugs. How great would the likes of Best, Gazza and Maradonna have really been without the booze, drugs? (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - i get your point wavo...but not all the great players take drugs, and most of them drink in moderation, they are professional athletes, and would be putting their careers at risk, surely they would not be that stupid..would they?..

Agree0 Disagree0

It was Jose Baxter, according to the rumours I heard {Ed025's Note - just rumour mate...he,s about the 15th player mentioned!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Point taken Ed. (Wavertree Blue)

Hey ed! Theres a muppet on the everton fc unofficial app chat forums saying a malyasian business have offered kenwright 100 million but he has turned it down as he wants 120 million, but he says a deal will be done by xmas! My head is telling me its yet another lie but my heart wants to beleive it! Hve you heard anything? {Ed001's Note - I haven't and I find it unlikely that Kenwright would turn down 100m right now.}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

But £100m was the price tag yesterday so I would suggest this is borrox

Agree0 Disagree0

Yawn. Another day another takeover rumour. Its getting ridiculous now, i wish it was true like

Agree0 Disagree0

One day, one day one of these rumours will be true, and I am sure it will be an absolutely unbelievable feeling but until then I treat any buyout rumours as BS.

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as xmas is mentioned i think back to the fortress sports fund who were going to put money into the club but bailed out at the last minute

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaysian businessmen taking over Everton - what affiliation do they have with fans, the club, the area? Just because they have money, people seem blind to their motives. It's like toadying up to people simply because there's a whiff of cash. Crass, empty-headed and, in the current socio-economic climate, a tad selfish. {Ed025's Note - i happen to agree with you mate..and although i would love someone to buy the club..i dont want it to be just anyone!, because of our plight, we could become a target for unscrupulous businessmen, who are looking to make a quick buck. they must be the right people for everton football club, and that is why i agree with the blue union, that an independant body should oversee any deal..

Agree0 Disagree0

Any unscrupulous businessmen that think they can come in and make a quick buck at everton must be mad. We have an old stadium in the middle of a housing estate and lease finch farm over 50 years. They only assets we have are on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh great! Thats fantastic news our beloved club is being bought by someone claiming to have £100M in Malaysia. Frankly whereever the potential buyer comes from is of no concern to me.....but what is it with people DREAMING of being taken over by anyone who has (or states they have) £100M to buy the club. Then what?? can someone please answer what their vision for the club is other than that of something from Champ Man? Get a grip people! I say stick with the current setup and get investment not a new owner!
