Ed - Any prospect of any Goodison Park development? I see the RS are making good progress (whatever that means) on that other ground but we are more silent than fog on a still winters day. {Ed025's Note - not that i have heard mate..

With our current board there is no chance unless there is some investment.

Acording to BK at the AGM recently we could be moving to a new ground on a site near Stanly Park. Where that site is I have no idea but BK said there are a number of sites the club and the City Council have in mind but he would prefer the one near Stanly Park. Just quoting what he said at the meeting so please don't shout at me. lol

New stadium? What will that acheive? Oh don't tell me, more capacity means more income? Only I don't know if you have noticed but there are loads of empty seats at goodison every week, it is better players we need not a better stadium that will put us in more debt

That is apathetic post, GuernseyBlue

Elstone is quoted as saying there will be nothing forthcoming with regards to relocation or ground improvements for at least 5 years, so I wouldn't expect anything for the foreseeable.
Same old story, stripping the assets and when there's nothing left and Green and chums have milked us for every last penny they'll sell to some eejit who'll take us even closer to oblivion.

There are empty seats at goodison because of the poor sight lines who wants to pay nearly 40 quid for a seat and have a post blocking their view also a new stadium would increase money with more corporate hospitality and naming rights

Are you trying to say there is more than 10000 obstructed views at goodison? Turn it in will you, and speak for yourself when you say why people won't pay. A true fan would pay to see their team no matter what, that's why old Trafford and anfield are full all season. Most of my mate's don't go the match when we can buy tickets no problem, in fact you might be one of my mates, if you want to see more investment in our average squad pay and go the match. Did you know that last season the empty seats at goodison cost our club over 6 million in ticket prices alone? Have a think About it

To second poster. what will it achieve?
well first IT WILL GENERATE MONEY but also investment as grand old lady has no pull at all infact its a deterant. infact our stadium is about 7 years from failing health and safety certs so basically any new ground will achive a lot as far as efc are concerned

I think you are getting the word generate mixed up with the word cost mate. The only way a stadium generates money is the people who pay to go in, so were is the sense in all the outlay when there are empty seats all over goodison. You would make a good politician you

It's called marketing, you take advantage of the hype that surrounds the premiership and exploit it. If you price it right and make it easy to buy tickets they will come.

Who will come? The sheep?

I think it's curious, but I think it's been shown that even clubs that didn't sell out at the old grounds get bigger attendances at their new stadia. It's not about additional revenue, though. I doubt there is anyone more desperate thn BK and the board to build a new stadium because it is purely about selling the club IMO, and that's not happening until we do.
