Just found this article, it's quite interesting:

Goodison Park side keen on Venezuela international.
Everton are reportedly displaying an interest in Venezuelan defensive midfielder Tomas Rincon according to TuttoMercato. David Moyes is said to be keen on the 24 year old Hamburg enforcer who is now in his fourth season with the Bundesliga side.
Though the Toffees have begun the season brightly Moyes may feel his Goodison Park side need a touch more steel and could see the tough tackling Rincon as a player who could effectively fill the role vacated by Jack Rodwell, who left to join Man City over the summer.
Rincon has racked up 64 appearances for his Imtech Arena side and has spent significant periods of action with niggling knocks but is seemingly a player that David Moyes feels could add strength in depth to his Everton squad and perhaps more importantly wouldn't cost a huge sum.

We don't want another injury prone player, would prefer odjidja-ofoe personally, according to Kompany he is quality.
