Summer transfer taking a nose dive, martina at right back! Benteke, I thought we were aiming higher than that!

Martina has been a gap filler since the season finished. What do you expect us to do now, just sign 30 mill player after 30 mill player.

Seamus is back after Christmas, we have Kenny and Holgate who can fill in and then this lad. Yeah i agree, he doesn't fill me with confidence, but Koeman must see something in him from his time at Saints and that's good enough for me.

What is the point in going spaffing rubbish loads of cash on a RB for a few months.

As for Benteke, no he isn't glamorous but he's still bagged 66 in 154 prem games for 2, sorry 3 shite teams. He will bag goals if you give him service.

Who would you want as a striker, that we can realistically get money wise, that would come to us and a club that will sell them.

I have thought long an hard and i can't think of any mate! And I have wanted Sandro for a long time now. i'm happy with him, but am full aware we need another top striker.

Giroud or Vardy would be my choices, but i'm not mad on either of them. People are shouting Dembele but for 40 million, for a raw unproven player, i would rather go an chuck it at Benteke than him.

Let Steve an Ronald do their jobs, they haven't put a foot wrong so far. Sandro will bag a hat full mate, as will Rooney. Have faith!

I would much prefer to see Jonjoe Kenny in the team than Cuco Martina.

we have a team already with some good additions this summer, will give us good options. we only really need a figure head for the attack. any one who expects more than squad players at this point needs to understand progress takes time money alone will not persuade top players to sign for us. we've taken some pretty big steps this year, and are on our way to being better for it, but our next big steps have to be on the pitch with what we have. martina is exactly the kind of squad player we need.

I'd expect him to use the good kids we have where we need a 'gap filler'. Nobody mentioned price tags, I just thought we would aim higher than Southampton's third choice right back and Benteke!

Seems clear to me that he doesn't rate Kenny or doesn't think him ready. Last season he preferred Holgate at centre half rather than Jonjo. Now he is after a 'proven' RB as cover because Holgate isn't up to it.
Whether he thinks Kenny is too small or just not good enough I don't know - but clearly he thinks we need another RB. He has signed him twice now so must see something so let's trust RK eh.

Chaps, maybe Kenny will get his chance. but just in case premium league is a little too much for him. he's getting a little tried and trusted experience. maybe he's thinking Kenny for comps and Martinez for league? All for adding depth. and they are certainly doing that.

Blueboys1979 - you don't need to mention price tags. Benteke will cost upwards of 35million minimum, so if he's not good enough/ you want us to aim higher, whoever it is, is going to cost a boat load of cash. Simple.

Southampton look to be pulling off another decent striker signify Luciano vietto from athletics Madrid. Back to Everton seen a few reports liking us with Meyer never seen him play but if koeman wants him I am 100% happy with it because koeman and Walsh haven't made mistakes as of yet but we will see this season. (Rooney)

Why knock Rooney before he starts? He looks lean, mean and a fighting machine. I wouldn't be surprised if Rooney silences a lot of people next season.

He had a bad patch a good few years back when people were saying he was losing it and he regained his ways. Its was only a mini one compared to now. I won't be surprised if he has a good season. Not saying it will defiantly happen still won't be surprised if it does.

I think we all need to get behind Rooney I feel he is what we needed at this stage in our clubs rise like NBTB says he is looking extremely lean and ready for action, he will be great for us!
I am looking forward to the feel good factor being back and we should clear out this negativity let the boy play and bring to life all those moments of glory he has acted out with his kids in those pyjamas!

Here here Southern Toffee.

I think he is going to shock a lot of people. he's going to get some desire back putting on the blue shirt again, the club, let's face it, that he never stopped loving.

Add to that he will want to prove everyone in the Media and Utd wrong.

Double figures in goals and assists is in the bag for me.

Totally agree and on top of that as a father myself I know one thing you don't want to do is disappoint your kids!

I think Rooney thrives when he has the supporters behind him. Critzism does affect him. I remember him walking off the picth complaining to the camera, fans were booing the team. So for the good of the team we would be wise to give him our full support when he steps out at Goodison on the 12th.

Am not saying his crap or won't do it it's just the biggest risk koeman and Walsh have took because of all the media at Troon that's going to be on him every minute.

Fair enough Eddy you didn't say he was crap. Your right it is a risk by RK and SW. Imho it is one very much worth taking. I was directing my post to supporters in general as much as a reply to your post.

Just hate to see people knocking him before he has even kicked a ball yet. Same goes for the right back we are supposed to be singing later on in the week. Every player should be supported imho. Not branded a failure before he even starts. Again don't take it personal Eddy I know what your saying. I'm more talking about a small minority in this post.

I actually don't think it's a risk. He's had one average season where he was not used as much as normal which coincided with a change of management. Let's face it, the special one didn't fancy him. Put a bit of confidence back in him, and a little love from the stands and the guy will be buzzing again. My only complaint about the signing is that it's only a 2 year contract.

I expect him to be nothing short of brilliant for us. And also I think he looks very lean for pre season and wonder if he's tried his best to stay in shape perhaps knowing that this move was very much on over the summer. One roar from the Goodson crowd and we will see that Rooney is back to his best.

Was thinking the same thing with Rooney looking so fit Toffee ace. I think he is mad to get on the pitch for Everton and has been preparing for it for a long time. There were reports that he heard Koeman saying he was interested in March and since that there was only one place he was going to go. Looks like he has been training hard if that's anything to go by.

I honestly think he deep down wanted to play for Everton and is grateful to get the chance to do that now. At the same time I do think there is an element of risk to it. Small but still some risk. Can't wait to see him bust a gut in Goodison.

Haha I know nbtb I just didn't explain myself clearly. Think we need a pacey forward though to help Rooney.

12 Jul 2017 11:03:08
I don't get people asking for a pact forward to help Rooney? Have they all forgotten we already have Kev, Sandro, lookman, DCL, Lennon and bolasie who can provide us with pace! Personally I'd prefer a proper experienced target man to come in.

Oh yeah and don't forget. Niasse now has a squad number! 😂😂.

Eds is there any efc interest in Stephano sturaro from juve? . just seen article from tutto sport linking him to us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Everton interest but Juventus rejected two offers for Stefano Stuararo (from Crystal Palace and Southampton) in January but since then have decided to sell him offering him in trade to Napoli as part of a deal for Keita Balde and entering in to discussions with Spartak Moscow for the player.}

Thanks eds.

Keita Balde plays for Lazio Ed, so is Stuararo being offered to them as a makeweight?

If so that's great business.

{Ed002's Note - It was offered but is not going to happen.}

Good source tells me your mystery striker is Benteke, £31m and four year deal.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i really hope not CFC, im not a big fan at all and think there are a lot of better options out there but thanks for the heads up mate..

11 Jul 2017 09:25:22
I'm with you on that ED, why waste £31M on a poor mans Lukaku. I was under the impression RK was looking a more dynamic style of forward.

{Ed025's Note - im hoping so too sa mate..

Give me iheanacho or martial any day over that, available at the same price, iheanacho even cheaper. they're probably as good as but at least have the potential to improve. Only reason I think Ronald may be interested is he's looking for a target man striker. Which I think would be useful, also think we need a striker with pace to burn to stretch defences on the counter.

11 Jul 2017 10:17:28
Sandro has plenty of pace.

I actually think Benteke is quality! I would have loved Iheanacho as well!
Personally I think If the 13m price we keep hearing for Hernandez s true then we have to at least try! I'd pay a lot more than that for him TBH!
