Everton are still in talks with Manchester United to sign winger Memphis Depay this month, according to a report.

The Mail claim the Merseysiders are still working on a deal to land the Holland international after tying up the loose ends of the £24million signing of Morgan Schneiderlin.

. rumours gathering pace and some substance in them. ok had a few clubs n hardly prolific. but with Standard Liege seems to have found his feet in terms of 'goals and assists'.24 years old so time to develope a little more. a question for Duke 75, didn't we recruit Steve Walsh to unearth gems that us bog standard supporters know nothing about? . let's leave it to SW n RK rather than make premature judgements. it may or may not happen/ come off.

I have to admit to worrying a little about this one but hey ho Walsh is the man - this is where we have to trust him to find the gems. Seems over priced to me I'd much rather have Berahino for that sort of money. Fingers crossed for some gems - Sigurdsson, Ben Arfa, Ilic, Dzagoev, Yarmalenko, Dolberg, what happened to Embolo?

Duke75.I am sure we signed up SW to do what he is known for, ie unearthing hidden gems. yes on paper this guy is not prolific, however for SL seems to have got his act together. time will tell but let's leave it to SW, after all what do we know. hands up who genuinely recognised Gana as a future EFC player on account of his undoubted ability. I certainly didnt.

Smith mate yes we did sign Walsh to find hidden gems I am glad that he is at our club and I think his input to transfers so far has been good is idrissa gueye is great signing and lookman looks an excellent prospect but this lad we are after I am not sure about like u said he doesn't score or assist much and clubs seem to get shut of him quickly ok he might of found his feet at standard but that is not the premier league but if we do sign him i will get behind him but a hidden gem I don't think he is hope I am wrong lo

. not havin a pop mate. I was a little dubious at first. yet he does seem to have found some form at SL and SW see's something in him, IF the rumours are true. Sky 2 mins ago have mentioned it again. fingers crossed we make the right signings to take us forward. personally I would snap up Berahino for 10 million. yet its up to SW n RK and then the board.

He doesn't score or assist much? Well neither did yannick Bolasie and we paid 27-30 million for him, if he comes for 10 million and can play with his back to goal then I am sure Rom will reap the benefits, Lukaku will thrive playing alongside a false 9 type striker .

This lad is poor and as I keep saying what has Walsh really done found vardy marhez and kanta. vardy is not prolific one good season don't make him good as we are seeing this season same for marhez he has been absolutely pants this year kanta fine good buy but the other 2 big? For me remember a guy form Newcastle the scout Carr signed a couple a good players from France got a 6 year deal then look at the chap he helped buy . I will give the guy a fair crack at the whip but just don't understand the hype.

. what has SW done besides the high profile names mentioned above. for starters. Danny Drinkwater, Danny Simpson, Robert Huth, Wes Morgan, Ulloa, Albrighton. need I go on. he pulled together players that I for one would never have imagined would work together. yet they did. ok not all hidden gems but together that completes 8 out of the 11 first team that won the title, a team that was able to consistently play the same first 11.get a grip mate.

Smith i would take a punt on berahino to but don't think he's Ronnie kind of striker he seems to look for big strong and pacey forwards another who I would look at signing is the 21 year old striker from RB leipzig davie selke he had a really good last season but not featured in team as much this season he is tall good in the air and with feet and looks a decient goal scorer

I think when people mention did we expect Gana to do well, yes actually as he performed well in a struggling Villa side in THE PREMIERSHIP!
We will have to see with this Algerian lad perhaps it's a smokescreen while we pursue other targets?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of an offer for Berahino from Everton but Atalanta said thay had rejected a very low offer for Kessie - I don't know who from but they are in discussions with Chelsea and have already rejected an offer from another side. It may well have been Everton.}

Ed002 any info on the future of some players that possibly might be leaving Everton. Namely Gibson, Cleverly, McCarthy and the 2 that there are rumours about Niasse and Kone. Apparently Hull and QPR are their destinations.

Just wondering does it look like any leaving us this month? Happy with the way the incomings are developing. If we get MS it will be a good window even if its stopped at that.

{Ed002's Note - Niasse will almost certainly go to Hull. McCarthy interests Celtic and Crystal Palace with West Brom and Newcastle United probably out-muscled in their interest.}
