Don't be surprised if EFC have a go for Leeds Chris Woods. Big lad who can hold the ball up and is not to shabby in the air.
Just saying is all.

Height of ambition there.

Worcester why doesn't it show ambition just because he is from a championship team doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good signing let's have a look Lescott Cahill jags lookman all bought from lower leagues and have turned out ok in my eyes if Walsh and koeman think he can do a job that's fine by me and as for showing ambition I think we are showing more ambition now than at any point since the 80's remember it's not all about fee size or where the player cones from.

He fits the bill but was kinda hoping we'd get kalinic.

Kalinic struggled at Blackburn, Woods would be worth a punt. Big and strong, holds ball up, decent in the air and most importantly, gets the ball in the net.

Leading goal scorer in the championship last year, hardly see how it lacks ambition signing him.

13 Aug 2017 00:23:25
He is not premier league quality at all. i'm not surprised you forget this because he was pathetic when he had his chance at both West Brom and Leicester. He is another Jordan Rhodes, great in the Championship but will not succeed in the top division. If anybody honestly wants to say they think he is an adequate replacement for Lukaku then i'm baffled. I think far too many on here just want us to spend for the sake of it, and a select few just like to argue against any point made because you like the drama. I maintain my stance that signing players of the quality of Woods is something that would see us move backwards in the league!

i think people have to realise that we have apparently been chasing a striker since we sold the belgian and while we have been linked with a few people the season has begun but we are no closer to one. altho we have targeted kalinic who is about to say no according to reports, i mean really no one sounded him out before approaching him, so it is probs the same for welbeck or anyone else we may be attempting to sign, no matter how positive you try to be this is a bad position to be in with less of the window remaining each day. it is kind of going back to the moyes era of transfers he couldn't sign a quality striker either. good defensive start yesterday good in the middle as usual, we need a striker the quality we bring into this position could define our season cause we looked good yesterday, albeit we weren't great in attack. people are right to be negative about a striker coming from the lower league cause one from the prem or europe could propel us higher in the table, imo, we have a striker in the u23 who's better than this guy your talking about, so why buy him. after all the links and all the waiting and hope of good quality strikers he is a bit of an anti climax for sure no matter how good he is or isn't.

Thanks for the new sharkopod ed, some great insight. Why do you think the Kalinic deal would be unlikely, Fiorentina being reluctant sellers?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He will move almost certainly to Milan - perhaps in about a week.}

11 Aug 2017 21:41:53
Thanks mate. Do we have any alternatives hen as Giroud seems unlikely.

{Ed002's Note - I think with Rooney and Sandro added not too much is needed. Right now there is nothing firm.}

I hope Milan get him.

Hes too expensive for someone so old and someone who has already failed in England.

Money could be spent much better elsewhere IMO.

Harsh to judge on that period at Blackburn, the team was in a downward spiral around then, Big Sam probably didn't play to his strengths while he was the manager there.
Steven Nzonzi played in the same team as well so would you write him off based on that time in his career? He's quite a sort after midfielder at the moment with big fees being discussed!
And let's be honest, just over £20m isn't too bad a fee in the current market for an international striker.
If we did manage to snare him I would be behind him like every other player that Koeman selects to pull on the Everton shirt!
Now COYB!

If and it's a big if welbeck can stay fit then that would be a great signing, I'll be happy with any of the strikers we have been linked with, just need to turn them into bids as time is running out.

proper dick move by ossie and neville that crap about poch making barkley great first off there is no evidence that he could make anyone great dele was good when spurs signed him from mkdons beating liverpool in the cup kane has always been good since he was about 14 same with ericsson poch is tactically aware of how to structure a team to attack from deep and counter attack similar in a way to klopp altho i suspect klopp is better at man management just because of the way he gets involved on the line and his personality. on the same day that reports surface that a lot of spurs 1st team are angry that the wage structure at the club as average players at west ham are being paid way more than them. spurs are lucky to have 3 high quality players in attack that play well together, but what barks should be paying attention to is the pay structure at the club cause it means for sure that those players won't be there for long. just when koeman comes out and says barks might stay you get that crap coming out of 2 ex players dumb mouths always liked ossie as well never understood why we had neville never liked him and for the last 3 years he played for us he was a complete liability.

Both Neville and Osman great players for us, Neville as a leader and Osman as allways giving everything for the club and being a very skillfull player. I think Neville is a very good pundit, though not sure about Ossie but respect his view as he spent his life at the club and gave his all.

just to clarify the point was that 2 ex-players are telling one of our own that he needs poch. and the concept that neville and osman know any thing about how poch works is retarded, what is he inviting them to closed training sessions. he (poch) has no record of taking players and making them better, and like i already said why can't he do it with sissoko? . if anything poch is a structured team manager, of which there are several in the prem at the moment and barkleys biggest critics say this is his biggest problem (doesn't hold his position well) . and as for neville fans i can only say this i went to my first game in the mid seventies and have seen many great players play for efc and i would put him in the top 5 worst players ever to play for us along with imre veradi and way above kevin kilbane who was a constant source of amusement to most of the fans i go the match with when he played. but that's not what irks me the most it's the way phil neville has distanced himself of being a blue since he retired, whenever he is co-commentating or talking about efc you can tell he is refering to the everton of the moyes era and has nothing relevant to say about the club. his last 2 years of playing you could almost hear the intake of collective air being sucked in by the crowd as we all grimaced as he went in for a tackle or was tracking someone cause he had to foul them cause he wasn't quick enough to catch them otherwise and if that's what you call good we come from different worlds. and like i said i like ossie he shouldn't have gone along with neville's comments, and how anybody can like neville enough to ignore him saying this is way beyond me cause very few seem to agree that it was a dick move.

I see your point to fair regarding poch and you're not wrong. You'll get some grief for comments on ossie because he's a lifelong blue and incredibly loyal to Everton although at the end of his contract he got left in the mud with Hibbert which i found very surprising. Neville on the other hand wasn't the best player we've had, wasn't the strongest and certainly wasn't the quickest, he did however have a good understanding of playing the game, he held the team together, was a great leader for us and played with so much passion. I think he was a great signing for us at the time and when he started to play less and less often, I would go as far to say that we missed him in the squad.

In fact casting my memory back, I rememver him scoring a bit of a worldie and going crazy hahhaa who was that against, anyone rememver?

Just my opinion of course and others will disagree but you don't play for united for 10-12 years at their peak unless you have something about you!
