If this rodwell rumour is true id be very happy. Johnson plus cash and then snap up rhodes would complete a great summer.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

I would not welcome a Rodwell sell I think the boy could have a great season with a bit of luck with injuries, also everyone slates him saying has not produced it or is injury prone but if man city offered 5m everyone will say he is worth at least 15m if we sell him we are not looking to future but we should be looking at where we will be in 5 years time I for one will hope that Rodwell Barkley green Duffy garbutt are the core of that team youth set up will become your biggest assets when you see Liverpool buying young players like Allen for 15million and henderson for same sort of money it tells you there youth system is wrong don't sell our future of Barkley and green go on and fill there potential how much could they be worth and how much does it save you personally I think Rodwell is better than Henderson and Allen but they spent nearly 30 million for both and we have produced our lad

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodweel is being linked because he was selected in the england squad and the press want a major exit from everton and failed with unsettling Baines no its Rodwells turn. Anyone who would be happy to let one of the clubs and englands top prospects go is crazy! because if City, UTD, Chelsea all want him then that says allot about his calibre.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd have that any day

Agree0 Disagree1

Not true Johnson on 80k no chance we will pay that. Wish it was true though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Although I'd love to see Johnson come to us, I kind of want Rodwell to stay with us because I would feel as though he would be leaving us without proving his worth and that we're throwing away potentially having a top PL midfielder (possibly defender) on our books; and with him being English, it's what we need! I agree with the above post too that's going on about how the press are just looking for stories here, there and everywhere! I think this is a nothing-story and no more believable than half of the 'rumours' that are posted on here! IMO I'd just ignore this 'story' like I did with the 'Baines to Man U' and the 'Moyes to Spurs' stories..

Murf {Ed025's Note - good post that murf..

Agree0 Disagree0

Madness. Why sell rodwell to take on a player on probably 3 times his wages in johnson and a significantly inferior player in rhodes albeit in a different position..... makes no sense

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not about whether they play for England... its whether Rodwell adds anything we don't already have. We long term deals in place for quality central midfielders like Fellaini & Gibson, Ossie or even Neville/Heitinga as cover for the coming season or two, then Barkley and even Junior coming through for future benefit in the same positions. We currently are over-endowed with central midfielders, but lacking quality on whole right side (midfield & back) and limited striker or left sided depth. So if someone wants to pay 20 Million for a player that we have yet see any serious benefit from (which means the team doesn't get any weaker), and can reinvest and add quality to the positions of less depth... not sure why people would disagree with this. Potential is not worth anything until it is fulfilled.

To be honest, I think this will all come to nothing. {Ed025's Note - good post that mate...very fair..

Ha hes gone

Shall I eat my words now then orrr....?

TV saying City after Rodwell. Would cash in on him if the price is right (injury prone and unproven imo) but only if the money was good and we could get a cheaper suitable replacement. Tony 'Goals,Goals,Goals' Hibbo.

Meanwhile, Everton have signed young Dundalk defender Ben McLaughlin, who is the son of the club's former player Paul and grandson of its hugely successful former manager, Jim.

The 17-year-old had already established himself in the first-team squad at Oriel Park but now links up with the likes of Shane Duffy and Séamus Coleman at Goodison Park.

It's genuine don't know why there is dislikes it's coming from Ireland and it was on Toffee talk which I would say is fairly reliable and the rumour has been knocking around for a month odd

Problem is that it's not on the official site. If he had signed, it'd be announced.

Fair enough but it is definitely plausible though not too sure why there is that many dislikes much more realistic than half the stuff on here {Ed042's Note - true that

Apparently with the arrival of Lukaku, Shane Long has held talks with WBA officials over his future. Everton are thought to be big admirers of Long and have earlier tonight made an enquiry. The outcome will be decided tomorrow, and if a reasonable price is met, the deal could be tied up be next week.

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Would love this he is quality. For reading he scored over 20 goals in the second half of the season before going to WBA.

Agree1 Disagree0

Another who blows hot and cold.. Wouldn't be the player for me

Agree1 Disagree0

Live near Reading and seen Shane play a few times - works his socks off, and is lightning quick over a few yards. Would mean Naismith going to the right side i guess if we did go for him

Illegal approach made for Matt Phillips of Blackpool - doesn't sound like the kind of move we would make however would be a good shout!

Believable3 Unbelievable14

The illegal approach was made by Southampton. I didn't think we are the club to do that sort of thing.

Keith EFC.

Agree1 Disagree0

My first thought was that it was us. I don't know any other team he's been linked with.

Agree1 Disagree1

No way moyes would do that he has to much respect for other clubs sounds like villa or spurs to me

Agree0 Disagree0

According to SSN west ham have had 9M bid turned down for Jarvis and he's handed in a transfer request. We don't have that kind of money or anywhere near it to bid for him. Jack Carter

Sources are saying that Thomas Meunier and Elliot Bennett will sign for us until the end of the transfer season. Meunier is a very promising attacker, 19 yrs old, 2 goals and 3 assits in 7 games last season for Brugge. And Bennett, you know very well Bennett. An explosive attacker with great pace and fantastic movement. Hope the best Blues !
