Do we need a right back, yes, a left back, possibly, a midfielder, maybe, but, what we need, above all other considerations, is a pruvan striker, know one comes with a guaranty, but with a CV that says goal, at every level, over a sustained period, and I do understand this type of player does not come cheap, but it must take priority over they above list of positions to be strengthend.

I thought you said a Peruvian striker. Was thinking Claudio Pizarro is a bit past it now.
21 Nov 2025 16:45:58
We have spent a fortune on duds Always blues, hope our next couple we get in can find the back of the net, Toney or Richy with Parrot as well be a start mate.
22 Nov 2025 09:14:00
There’s not really any guarantee a player will settle, fit system or hit the ground running, a few will certainly but not everyone, can’t see any complaints about scouts on players like ndyie or garner dewsbury hall, alcaraz needs game time and dibbling too, and with those 2 it’s moyes holding them back not terrible scouts, rohl just had hernia surgery unfortunately that’s him out for a few games, another who would benefit from playing,
Davey has all his best pieces but can’t understand the instructions let’s hope he finds them soon.
Oh and Barry did alright last game let’s hope he found his feet.
21 Nov 2025 09:35:54
Just read in the echo, Kevin Kilbane, stated that as he understands it, Parrott is an evertonian, which all helps if we do make a move in January.
With Beto going to AFCON in January I’d be happy if we bought Parrott and then Richarlison on loan . I’d like us to get a left back as we need cover/replacement for Mykolenko.
Right back I’d wait till summer we’ve got Seamus, Jake, Jimmy and Patto who can play there . Another centre mid with Gana going to Afcon we need cover/ long term replacement. I’d be delighted with McTominay (excuse spelling) but we’re getting into fantasy football there . Fingers crossed. UTFT COYB.

Realistically, I think we can expect a maximum of three coming in, and a couple of those likely to be loans. Any good player that’s available will have many suitors especially with AFCON coming up. First thing we need to do is tie Jimmy up to a new contract, stop all the noise about a move.
{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..
21 Nov 2025 13:22:41
A lot on here said we had no hope of signing Grealish, no reason why we can’t attract other top players to Everton, Richy And Parrot or Toney I’d be well chuffed mate.
21 Nov 2025 13:35:05
Beto won't be going to Afcon Big C as Guinea-Bissau didn't qualify.
Afcon starts December 21st so probably be calling players up week before so only a few weeks away.
21 Nov 2025 13:35:52
Alot on here didn't want Grealish GB I seem to recall.
21 Nov 2025 14:22:48
Cheers Mocker didn’t know that they’d missed qualifying. Even so we’re one injury away from being down to one striker I think most teams have four strikers or four that can play that role. I think we need two, a left back and a centre mid.
21 Nov 2025 14:43:05
Agree Big C, we are very light on numbers, very doubtful we can attract Vhalovic imo his wages alone and fact he wasn't remotely interested in us when rumoured in summer says we won't he won't be entertaining us. Richy has to be a possibility like a lot will want minutes for WC squad call up, loan would be ideal.
Troy Parrot could be anything, but kinda punt we need be taking, very hard in January to attract any real quality though with WC in summer a few may be more available and want out of their clubs to enhance call up chances.
21 Nov 2025 14:52:37
You never know who might come. Plenty of players looking for game time ahead of the World Cup, like Richy for example, and others just looking to head to the Prem. Top class stadium now and training facilities, attractive proposition.
21 Nov 2025 16:47:58
Yep Mocker just shows how we can get it wrong so glad he was brought in.
21 Nov 2025 18:49:44
Did anybody really think that Troy Parrot would be a good signing until last week. I doubt it.
{Ed025's Note - i had never heard of him Rick..
21 Nov 2025 21:01:55
Snap and AZ are wanting £30 million now ? ???spurs have 20% sell on clause.
23 Nov 2025 01:07:26
Why is everyone raving about Parrot?
Yes he is a blue nose but for Gods sake, he's 61 and won his only world title 34 years ago. ?
Toney, Vardy or Richy would do for me.
We need to sack all the scouts too.

Definitely a player in there somewhere but has been shocking for a few years still only 21 might of been too much to early people saying he is the nxt harry kane and worth £80 million who knows We can't afford another forward with possible potential.
has he still got something could moyes get the best out of him who knows. its actually a yes from me though if the deal is right.
20 Nov 2025 17:19:57
Funny, a couple of years ago we’d have been delighted with him coming in.
{Ed025's Note - yet another player with potential...like Moise Keane, Barry and Dibling...how about just buying the finished article for once?..
20 Nov 2025 20:06:45
Should've just kept tom cannon same type of player.
20 Nov 2025 20:32:13
Lots of teams looking for the finished article Ed. That’s be great of course. Who would it be?
{Ed025's Note - Vlahovic, Mateta or someone of that calibre JB?, would cost a fair bit i expect but on players like Kean, Barry and Dibling we have spent over £100m and for what...potential?, i have no confidence in our scouting team at all mate and if you want the best im afraid you have to pay the big bucks, sounds a bit crass i know but Nil Satis Nisi Optimum does not mean casting your bait into a river and expecting to come up with a very big fish..
20 Nov 2025 22:23:02
Been a long time since we’ve had a proper number 9, Ed, a game changer. Bring back the Yak!
{Ed025's Note - i know im an auld arse JB but Everton were always known for great centre forwards mate, Dixie, Latchford, Sharpie and even the likes of Big Dunc and Lukaku, its been too long now without one and i feel it would lift the rest of the team if we had one, come on TFG...make my day..
21 Nov 2025 05:12:06
Hiya Ed. From the Liverpool page in peace here. While having the finished article is great and all, it'd be a hard ask to get players like Vlahovic or Mateta to move to Everton. Mateta for example is a starter for CP and they are doing much better than Everton are at. While money may turn his head, I don't think those kind of mercenaries are the ones you'd want to attract to your club.
I'm afraid that young with potential are the kind that you should look at, or even those older ones but have not made the cut at bigger clubs. I'm thinking of players you had in the past like Coleman, Baines, Cahill, Lukaku, Pienaar, etc Everton's current scouting needs to improve greatly though if they are to unearth gems like that again.
{Ed025's Note - in an ideal world i would agree Drac, but for us to move forward we need momentum mate and we are missing so many chances that those providing them must be very frustrated, i believe that we are a good striker away from being a top 8 team and thats when you are in a position to buy for the future, we cant be wasting money on what might be..
21 Nov 2025 06:49:09
I’m with you on that Ed. Buy the finished article, get goals in and head up the table. Would love us to buy Vlahovic or someone like him. Once we are doing well, buy in potential. It’s common sense to me.
We’ve just been buying crap players as the finished article for too long. If we had been in for Chris Wood 3 or 4 seasons back instead of sticking with Dom, I think we’d have been further along our journey back.
{Ed025's Note - i think you are spot on BR..
22 Nov 2025 18:29:54
Well we could have bought Isak for 125m?.

A match report from 2014
In recent games for Everton Football Club, there
has been a lot of what could have happened and
what should have happened, instead of what
actually happened. Coming off the back of two
heartbreaking 1-0 losses to Tottenham and
Chelsea after periods of dominance by Everton,
the question on fans and pundits lips are, "Why
can Everton not turn this possession into goals
and wins? ".
The simple answer is, they do not
have a proven, match-fit goal-scoring striker.
For the first part of the season, their answer up front
was Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku who began
the season with a 1 in 2 scoring record, but after
scoring his last goal in late December and picking up an injury the goals began to dry up.

Could be one of many BMD. :)
19 Nov 2025 09:43:54
Whilst not strictly an Everton issue, when, if ever, are the Manchester city chargers going to be addressed.
Dark hint keep emerging that we might be facing financial penalties, from clubs trying to claim some bogus compensation for there own incompetence getting relegated.
This flows from the recommendations from the panel dealing with our disaplinarry case.
An almost insignificant charges against those faced by city.
Folling that presedent set, everyone else, including us, should be able to mount significant claims against city, if they ever have the ball to aplie equle justice.

19 Nov 2025 23:30:21
I don’t think they will receive the same as us Always. They are one of the breakaway poster boys of the Premier League and they, along with Chelsea, will get nothing more than a slapped wrist in my opinion. Unless the Eds have an insight as to what is going to happen, I’m assuming the above.
Or they dock us 10 points for City and Chelsea’s rule breaking.
{Ed025's Note - im with you BR, slapped wrist and a huge fine i expect mate..
20 Nov 2025 15:08:38
If that turns out to be the conclusion of city's charges, then govern the judgment again use, for much lesser offence, is just a farce, and we should consider a case against the premier league, for the unjust costs applied to Everton.

It does feel that we are on the right path. It was always about steadying the ship this year. We have the nucleus of a good squad, and more good players than last season. Quality additions in the next 2/3 windows and who knows ay?
18 Nov 2025 17:15:56
I think being a Blue you are just waiting for the bad news all the time?.
18 Nov 2025 17:41:50
Once we get a striker or two is we will press on, roll on January mate.
18 Nov 2025 19:30:29
Progress on and off the pitch being made. I know it’s hard at times to be patient, but I really believe that next season, after a couple more windows we will have a great squad, even if we have to sell Branthwaite and N’Diaye.
{Ed025's Note - i like the sound of the progress Swinners, but im not happy about selling the crown jewels to finance it mate..
18 Nov 2025 20:34:00
Don’t think either of those two will be sold any time soon, more like we will continue building our up and coming Team, some very good players in there now, just the icing on the cake needed, a bloody good striker sure Davey will get that done this window.
19 Nov 2025 15:59:11
Part of progress will be to tie our best players down. Branthwaite and Pickford is done, so we need to move with Illie and Garner.
So far TFG have shown they can attract income from areas we wouldn’t have even known. That’s something we’ve never had before. The point I’m making is that whilst player trading is something we’re used to to fund other transfers, it looks like we’re now being managed in such a way as to keep our player assets and build further.
19 Nov 2025 23:35:21
A business GB, if they have invested more in us than Roma, it is because we needed it.
20 Nov 2025 19:25:11
Not selling N'Diaye I agree with but I think Branthwaite could turn out to be a sick note so selling him at top auction a growing necessity.
18 Nov 2025 09:27:02
Interesting stay on SKY news yesterday showing that we have given the second highest number of minutes to AFCON players in the league, behind Sunderland. Hoping the board have a few solutions in mind already to cover this, the squad’s not massive as it is. A couple of loans on the cards probably.

18 Nov 2025 13:12:25
Knowing our lot they will loan two African national players.
18 Nov 2025 13:25:37
It is unfortunate that 2 of our best players are going AFCON. Not sure we can replace Ndiaye with anybody as there aren't many players with his skill set around, certainly none that we can attract/afford.
I think Rohl should be able to come in and cover for Idrissa for a month though. Our fixtures take a nice turn when AFCON is on JB, which is quite lucky.
18 Nov 2025 21:00:51
Surely Dibling can play a role also BN….
18 Nov 2025 22:21:11
I agree BR but as things stand, it doesn't appear that Moyes agrees with us on that front mate.
18 Nov 2025 23:34:05
Why did he sign off on £40m for a player who he has no intention of playing? The whole situation seems absurd. We aren’t in the position to throw money around on ineffective players. Give him some game time and see if he lives up to the billing.
I’m still giving you the benefit of the doubt over Dibling BN. Hope he comes good but we don’t want another Lookman or Kean situation. We need players who can get us results.
19 Nov 2025 02:21:26
Not a clue BR. Do you think it is possible that it wasn't a Moyes signing?
I can't understand why he hasn't been given a chance but maybe there is something going on off the pitch that we don't know about. Puzzling to say the least.
19 Nov 2025 16:01:40
I heard he doesn’t train well which would not go down well with Moyes. Maybe he’s not been trusted yet until he’s trusted more in training?
Just a thought.
19 Nov 2025 16:29:03
I can think of quite a few players who apparently didn’t train well. But once on the pitch they were class.
19 Nov 2025 21:41:05
Best, Gascoigne, LeTissier, Bowles to name a few.
19 Nov 2025 23:37:52
Three of those would never be in a Team of mine.

Dentie, Red Star look to have another quality kid on their books, much like the lad Bournemouth went and got in the summer, Milosavljevic.
Vasilije Kostov, only 17yrs old and plays in the 10.
The type of signing that we should be making whilst he is affordable.

17 Nov 2025 23:14:58
I can still remember Barry Horne’s strike. From where I was sitting, it looked like it had missed then ended up in the other side of the net. The relief in the crowd was incredible; we knew we were going to go on and win it.
What brought that on GB?
