As an expat its rare that I hear many rumours but I've heard that Coleman, Lukaku, McCarthy & Super Kev have all asked to leave in this transfer window. No written requests as yet but Coleman and Mccarthy's are expected this week.

Its not good news if true.

Personally I don't think that Lukaku or Kev will go this window but the other 2 could be likely.

I see that joey barton is petrified for Everton this Summer. He thinks that our underperforming will lead to our best young players leaving. Well joey has nailed it. I think most of us are worried and most us of think we will lose at least Stones and Lukaku. There are still a few that think the fraud will get it right and we'll kick on. I'd be much happier if I was one of those but sadly after 3 years realism overrules hope for me.

Who's Joey Barton.

2.) 16 Feb 2016 11:26:04
Whatever anyone thinks about Joey Barton as a player or as a human being, his views as an Everton fan are just as valid as anyone else who genuinely posts honestly-held opinions on social media or wherever. We might not agree - sometimes vehemently - but, as long as the discussion is carried out on the basis of "that's your opinion - I don't gree with you, but you're entitled to express it", then I really can't see what the problem (if any) is.
Once any discussion descends into abuse, name-calling, trolling and verbal violence, then, in my humble opinion, we've overstepped the line and made the argument itself the centre of attention rather than focusing on addressing the core issue under discussion - but then I guess I'm just old-fashioned in that respect. :-)

3.) 16 Feb 2016 20:35:19
No Cowpat you not old fashioned in that respect. Your totally spot on.

1/ 3 of the possession, a clean sheet and two set pieces. Roberto probably thinks this was a draw! Joking aside though that was a really good performance. Players like Lennon and Robles need to keep their places whilst Stones needs to keep the bench warm for a while. It was nice to see some defensive whacks instead of taps.

5 points worse off than at this time last season. A season that was ultimately seen as rubbish with the blame pushed on to European football. This season we have our best centre forward since Gary Lineker and languish in the bottom half. Surely even the most blind Martinez supporter can see that we're going backwards. Once Rom leaves for a club with ambition we'll be challenging for 17th again.

Spot on.

I have defended both D Moyes and R Martinez in my posts on this site, I must admit my frustration is becoming to much even for me to take, my heart tells me Roberto's philosophies are what I believe in and it is entertaining to watch and also that a few tweaks (Jags to return or a leader at the back, a replacement or Robles in goal) this young side could become something special and maybe we all need to be patient.
My head tells me we cannot be consistent playing so open and the inability to defend. We are fantastic going forward and are arguably the best team at creating chances in the league. We got back into the game when we pressed Stoke and attacked at every opportunity, once we went in front this stopped we sat off and invited Stoke to put pressure on us and we are not good enough defensively to do this at the moment. This is my criticism of Roberto either we should of kept the high tempo and go toe to toe with the opposition or bring on besic and to protect the lead with the right personnel. We can't play defensively with 5 (Lukaku, Kone, Naismith, Delefeuou and Barkley) attackers on pitch!
The question I keep on asking myself is, if David Moyes had this group of players would we be higher in the league? probably
Would we have beaten sunderland 6-2 or Villa 4-0 or had performances like first half against Norwich and Newcastle? probably not.
So even in this post I can't decide which is my preference is it best to be consistent and not as pleasing on the eye and know what you will get and maybe with better resources this time Moyes can take us to the next level.
Or are we a work in progress and once we find the balance or leadership in the team we will go on to achieve everything we hope for.
At the moment are best chance is a cup on our day we can beat anyone so fingers crossed for some silverware!
If you look at our team there is not to much anyone would change, personally I would play Robles, get Jags back asap alongside Stones to organize the defence. Mirrallas to replace Kone and attack teams for 90 mins. That is just my opinion it looks like Mirrallas will be going soon which is a shame because it would be a hell of an attacking fab four Delefuoe, Barkley, Mirrallas and Lukaku.

{Ed025's Note - good read that robbie..

3.) 29 Dec 2015 10:10:34
Yea good read Robbie. The team selection would not change a lot as you say. The changes you make I totally agree with.

Its just the coaching and management of the defence that needs changing big time.

I'd go with the Moyes option you mentioned. Would love to see him managing this current squad. I don't think there is many who would disagree that he would do a better job than Martinez.

A year or so ago no one would have Moyes back. With every passing game there are no doubt more who would welcome him back. I think he would work wonders with this team.

He would get the best out of them. Unlike at the moment we are underachieving.

4.) 29 Dec 2015 11:56:35
I still wouldn't take Moyes back. We'd still get baffling tactics but any star quality would be managed out of them. He was just as stubborn but a defeatist against the 'big boys' too. That would mean we'd be trying to draw against Leicester and Palace if you look at the tables these days.

How have we not scored more than 1 so far? I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

Overall, as a football fan, this season is proving fairly exciting with some nice stuff being played. In saying that the quality of the top teams is worse than ever. More worrying is that we don't seem able to capitalize on that drop in level. This leaves us in a peculiar position because the top 4 will soon become a top 3 and despite the lower standards it will be harder than ever to qualify for the Euro comps.

The whole league is average mate. But look on the plus side, the games are more entertaining, and anyone can beat anyone. Look at Palace today! Oops. Just a pity where paying so much for it.

The guys name is Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi and he is definitely Thai. He, on his own, is worth around £9bn but as he is in his 70's and traditionally invests only for profit I suspect it won't happen. There is certainly no mention of this takeover in Bangkok.

It doesn't take a soothsayer to know that Gibson will be injured next year. Naismith I would have kept but the other 5 can go for me. They don't warrant a game now and will be a year older/ worse next season. We would save over 6m in wages which could be reinvested .

If you live the lifestyle that its rumored Gibson leads its hardly surprising he keeps picking up injuries. Elite level sportsman these days need to be clean living, hard workers. Anything less means physical problems.

When is McCarthy back? He's played there before and that would allow besic to stay in midfield.

Palace have a better team (check the table before you argue) , more money to invest, they are based in London and have a (now) highly rated manager. Why would he want to come to us?

I don't care about your spelling. Your education level is of no interest to me. I do care that you text shout all the time because I see it as being ignorant and rude. If you stop shouting I would be interested in your opinion.

Ps. My Mummy and Daddy are very proud of me.

Hoping that RM will get it right is just blind faith. He has shown absolutely nothing to suggest that he will fix the defence. His comment on clean sheets recently backed that up. It was mentioned that we are loyal to our managers but is that a good thing? We have a large chunk of supporters who weren't even alive the last time we won something. Loyalty this time will cost us our better players and that, ultimately, takes you down rather than up.

Martinez can't go anywhere until the takeover is finalized one way or the other.

If the players can't perform because of the fans then they are not good enough. Top players perform no matter the atmosphere. Top players perform so that boos are rarely heard. Yes, the manager isn't good enough but are the players? We have some good players but we're also guilty over building them. They are not world class
