What is missing is in Evertons mid field we are talking about a Reid or readily available Felliani. If the likes of Rooney (150 grand a week) , Schneiderlin (FFS) are worth it what the heck is he worth.

{Ed002's Note - Reid is available but may have slowed down a tad.}

Difficult to imagine him slowing down. Maybe the ability to last 90 well 60 actually 20, no more like 10 minutes is the issue.

Nah just give him a bit of raw steak for breakfast and let him stand in the centre circle.

Reid looked as though he was running on quick sand for Maradonna’s goal against England in 86 World Cup ed002. (Not the hand of God goal) You can’t lose what you never had 😂
Great player for us though.

To be fair, everyone looked like they were running on sand against Maradonna. If I remember right, Gary Stevens was trying to catch him too but looked like an old lady after the bus!

As we have bought a few players in this year, but as we can see a lot of the foreign players haven't been up to it, Do you think we will try and buy good players that are available in the premiership just to get us back to a solid team then the following year try to get players from outside the premiership again.

Fair shout that mate, but then Williams and Keane came in with prem experience and have been shocking. I think there’s something wrong with the scouting because so many mistakes have been made.

Simontoffeeman69 'a lot of the foreign players haven't been up to it' you must have a crystal ball that works mate. The rest of us have no idea because the 'foreign players' have not been given a chance. I have watched our U23's about as much (their home ground is near mine) as our first team squad (season ticket) , and they are a good team however, the likes of Sandro, Tosun et al up to now have not been given a sniff.

Next season should give us an idea if the foreign players are good enough, the ones we keep anyway.
The likes of Klassen, Sandro won't be involved in world cup action so should get a full pre season.

Good call that Smit666.

It's easy to say they haven't been given a sniff, but it's not just one manager that hasn't picked them, so yes it maybe down to what ever, but at the end of the day if there good enough they will be picked and then they can show how good they are, but when they have played they are well off the pace, kean when he first came in looked good, but had now been in a team that has constantly lost threw out the season, he hasn't played with the same person for long enough to gel, I personally think he will be fine, he was a ball winner, keoman tried to turn him into a ball player, that's when his form dipped, along with the rubbish he's had in front of him. When your in your box defending for 90 mins your bound to end up making mistakes due to all the pressure your under,

Should have a decent back row for tomorrow with Bains Jags and Mori all passed fit, so heres hoping for three points.

Agree with you there gb. that's definitely our best back 4 at the moment, you could maybe argue holgate over funes but i'd say jags is still our best centre back. i'm a big fan of mori, i know he has a mistake in him but the next few years are going to be his peak years and let's face it he will only make a quarter of the mistakes williams and keane are making, Plus his attacking of the ball at corners an bringing the ball out from the back are something we have been missing since he got injured / since stones left. don't want to state the obvious but its a massive game for us tomorrow, we need all the lads to put a proper shift in because there a hardworking team brighton with some decent players, an there confidence will be through the roof after the arsenal game. i'm going for 2-0, tosun an walcott. Hopefully 😂.

What do you reckon if we lose tomorrow then lads? point of no return for Sam. Keep him for the rest of the season hoping for 3 points or get rid and bring Unsy back in (can't do worse) .

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2018 19:17:56
Think that would be enough for the powers that be to get rid, on another note I see Big Sam now saying he has to win Football matches to keep his job, wow.

09 Mar 2018 20:17:51
Id leave Unsy where he is at. If Sam was sacked before seasons end i'd let big dunc take team. He does the training sessions with other coaches.

Ha. Big Dunc and Rooney should be able to get a tune out of them.

I don't think that a loss to Brightonon its own would trigger anything. It would be a combination of results from the team further down that meant there was a team on 30 points in the relegation zone that would be more likely to sound the death knell for Allardyce. Whilst the 3rd bottom team has points in the twenties then we will be deemed to have a margin of safety and he will be perceived to have generated it despite taking over the team when it was 13th.

Time we had some positive vibes so here goes with my crystal ball.

Bad as we have been, we normally put a shift in at home, I can see Everton winning by a couple of goals Saturday, Sam knows the natives are restless and will see this as a game he can come back and say, panic over for now, no protests and murmurs, I see Sam going for it early doors, with a bit of luck, Coleman, Baines, Mori or Holgate in the backline with Tosun and Niasse leading the front line, I would even start with Siggerson just behind with Davies, Gana in the middle Walcott on the right, Vlasic on the left, using Rooney as a sub but further upfield instead of defensive, he got ten goals there, why change it to a more defensive role.

Brighton will be on a high after last weekends defeat of arsenal so we will need to be on our game defensively, hopefully Coleman, Mori and Baines will start, would like to see us play a 433 with Gana, tom and Siggy behind Walcott, Tosun and Bolasie or DCL, agree with Rooney and Niasse as options from the bench.

This version of positivity puzzles me. For me positivity is looking at things that HAVE happened and taking an upbeat view. So last week Tosun scored, that should boost his confidence, settle him down and this week we should see a better performance from him. Positivity isn't citing something that hasn't happened and asserting it is going to happen.
