Anybody know what's happening with Mangala? Are we looking to give him another shot or was he a big sam only player?

Also, and i know this is ridiculous so i'm sorry to all, but it's a deliberate attempt to lure Ed02 back. It would make my week to get one of his stinging retorts.

Ed02, at Euro 16 we were solidly linked with Axel Witsel. Do we still hold interest? I don't wish to RTFP's because i'm a gilfnard and i know you love being asked about random names :)

I think Witsel was of interest to Koeman so probably not now.

I actually like Welbeck but it is very hard to disagree with the analysis of him. Personally i think it's shocking that you didn't include Tiemoue Bakayoko. From Monaco's golden generation he was tipped to set the EPL alight, but whenever he got a sniff of a goalscoring chance his brain turned to jelly and he spannered it wide or blazed it over the bar. Where were those splitting passes? oh no somebody's given me the ball. what do i do? i think i'll kick it all the way back to the keeper. Got to be the number one killer for anybody's fantasy dream team when they picked at the start of the season.

Good read, Ed. Thank you. It is shocking not only that Danny Welbeck has appeared for Utd and Arsenal, but also that he has 40 caps for England and is going to Russia! It's as clear a sign as possible of the paucity of English attacking talent. I'm not sure whether to be shocked or relieved that none of our squad made it into the team? Keane, Williams, Schneiderlin? Perhaps none of them are rated, let alone over-rated, although they have almost 100 national caps between them? I should say that, while I was never convinced by Keane, I thought Williams and Schneiderlin were good signings when we got them. What do I know?

And a 2 year loan I don't get it why not a 6 or 12 month loan with a view to buy just seems a weird deal but they must know what they are doing.

Yes I saw that bit says 1.5m per year loan fee with a 20 million option which we all know the Turks will then say is too much and walk away.

On smit 666 post regarding barkley he is to lazy to play in a 4-3-3 system that's why he's not playing for chelsea he wants people like Mccarthy and gana to win the ball back for him martinez made him a lazy player by letting him know that others would get the ball back for him under moyes he worked for the ball but under martinez he knew that he could lose it and not go looking to win it back that's why koeman moaned he gave the ball away but didn't want to go get it back and left him out.

Nah. He wasn't good enough for us.
His development or his attitude was the problem. He is an odd lad.
He was just a promising English lad who didn't turn put as hoped.

He will be a good championship player for someone.

The £15 mil will quickly become apparent as a great price.

If he never made it and got his bumper pay deal with Chelsea he probably made the right move for himself financially just not on the footballing side.

Remind me when Barkley played under Moyes so had to work hard to get the ball back as I think you will find Moyes shipped him out on loan and only started playing in the 1st team when Martinez was here!

I think that the injuries etc that made the last season wreckage for Barklay mean that the jury is out on him. His performance next season will be telling.

Given we are always asking about which players we are interested in (and the Ed’s do such a great job letting us know) , it got me thinking:

Do the Ed’s know which teams are interested in/ sniffing around any Everton players?

It’s good enough suggesting we get rid of x, y and z but if there’s no buyer, it would be quite costly to cancel all those contracts.

{Ed025's Note - we do get to know who is interested BR especially when its the higher profile players but there is very little at the moment, its not just that a lot of them are on holiday at the moment but the fact that we have some very average players on huge wages mate, trimming the squad is a priority for brands so im sure we will see some movement in the next few weeks..

Do you reckon it's more likely they will send players out on loan than outright sales to start with?

{Ed025's Note - there will be more loans than sales i think BR, they are still assessing the squad so it will tend to happen at the end of the window rather than the start i feel mate..

Let's hope there are some 'try-before-you-buy' loans so we can recoup/ make some money. Might even pay for some loo roll holders in the new stadium.
