We should stick in a very good bid for Chelsea's Batshuayi. We should have before the season even started. Anyway manager we get is going to want him. If you stick him in the same role as Lukaku and just feed him balls, he'll score allday. Mirallas on the left Lennon or Lookman on the right Siggs number 10 and Davies and Gueye supporting him. Schneiderlin can also feed balls upfront too. I thought we were heavily linked. Or was that paper rubbish.

{Ed002's Note - He is not a centre forwatd, has just joined Chelsea and is of zero interest to Everton.}

09 Nov 2017 08:50:22
ED02 can I ask what position he is then as I always thought he was a striker and there was rumours they would ket him go in the summer and as conte has overlooked him a few times isn't there a chance he will want to move with the world cup coming up.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Batshuayi can play as a striker or in a forward position behind or with a centre forward where he is best used - and where he prefers to play and where most of his goals come from. As an out and out striker on his own he tends to get lost which is why Belgium typically play him with Mertens.}

09 Nov 2017 09:51:38
What position is he then ed002?
not a marky dig just a query.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Nov 2017 11:24:34
fair enough ED02 still think he might move but more likely to a European team as not sure he really enjoys the hustle of the premiership.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why are you expecting him to move? There is no plan for him to move and Chelsea already have a shortage of forwards and are working on adding one in January.}

09 Nov 2017 18:32:11
just an impression I get I don't think conte rates him too highly as he has left him out while morata was injured prefering to play hazard.

To BigDuncs. How can anyone say the next manager will get rid of them three players. No one knows who the next bloody manager is. So how on earth can they predict such a ridiculous statement.

I'm interested now. Who disagreed? Do you know something. We don't know.

Your right there mate, usual tripe appearing on here from so called managers at the club, as you say we can all dream but no one apart from the board can possibly know what's happening, we will all have to wait and see, but who ever it is will definitely draw in the normal negatives, happy days.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Nov 2017 17:29:42
Some media saying the next Manager will get rid of 3 players, Scheiderlin, Siguurdson and Williams. The first and last I have to agree with but Siguurdson a natural No:10 has been played on the left wind more often than not and now even Icelands Manager has indirectly criticised Everton for doing so.

But it will be the new manager will decide who will stay or who will go?

Agree4 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 20:00:12
If schneids can get back to where he was last season then we have to keep him. Williams I couldn't care less about but Siggy has to stay and be our 1st choice no10.

Agree0 Disagree3

08 Nov 2017 20:25:19
Did not doubt that Stig. Just appears strange to me that you pay 45 mill for a playmaker No: 10 and play him on the wing. Unless of course it is to accommodate the prodigal at all costs.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Nov 2017 20:28:42
Can't see how the media would know who an as yet unappointed manager will sell. Agreed we've got too many number 10s, but would sooner see Rooney and Klaasen go than Sig.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 21:26:47
Well if the new man is as good as we hope then he will realise Sig is a number 10 and so should be playing in that position, not on the poxy wing.
Mr Unsworth take note.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 23:52:41
Sigs should definitely be playing the 10 role, he can feed the balls for DCL or Niasse and even Sandro they all have the bit of pace to worry a defender
If we want to accommodate Rooney maybe he needs to go on the wing but we know that won’t happen as he doesn’t have the pace. Time to be the impact sub for Rooney!

Does anyone know if there have been any dramatic change in our hunt for a manager? DU is very very short with the bookmakers now and I stand to win a hell of a lot of money if and when he's appointed? Still my no 1 choice regardless. Be greatful for any information 👍🏻.

As much as I hope you win the wad DPP. I would think this would be Moshi rolling the dice in the hope Unsy keeps us up till the end of the season. Because he can't get the man he really wants now.
Personnally I would rather we got this right now, not keen on rolling a dice.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 18:30:58
Maybe giving Unsy another 4 games could be an option. That would give going to chance to get some results but if it doesn't happen then still plenty of time to appoint an allardyce type.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair shout mate..

08 Nov 2017 19:58:41
Looking at the fixtures we could actually give him 7 games up to and including the derby game. A couple of Euro games in there to get some time into the squad players. After the derby there are some winnable games for the then manager if it isn't Unsy.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 21:32:17
Not sure I agree with giving managers monthly extensions. Players need to know what is going on long term, otherwise they will lose focus. Lose focus, lose games. We just can't afford for that to happen.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Nov 2017 22:20:52
I agree to some extent but there just aren't enough quality managers to pick from mid season. Who can we realistically get in now to take us forward for the next 3 years or so. Unsworth can have the job for the rest of the season or longer if he can get the team playing well and get the confidence levels up. One thing we don't know about this squad is how good they are as a team. We might just find there is a really good team in there somewhere once some confidence comes back.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Nov 2017 23:25:38
Agree with what your saying Smit, but we can't lose sight of the fact we were lucky against Watford. Had there keeper not gone off and then that penalty miss. And games prior to that we have been pants. So sorry don't see Unsy as much as I love him, is the one.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Nov 2017 06:54:54
I know we were lucky and Unsy team selection has been a bit suspect too but I think the guys just need their confidence back and we have a good run of games up to the derby to get some confidence back. I wouldn't give him the job because I think it's too early for him. What scares me though is the thought of Allardyce coming in or us giving a 3 year contract to some unproven manager. If the right manager can be got then I'm all for it but I just can't see who we can get right now.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m now hearing it’s because the board are split. You never know what to believe! I agree on at very least giving him a run of games. I think he’ll pleasantly surprise a lot of us. COYB!

You can go on about stability and who the manager should be but bottom line is they have to get results, end of story, people keep posting about Blanc but why his achievements are no better than the jobs Big Sam or Dyche have done at there respective jobs, Silva looks promising but there defence is just as bad as ours, it's all about timing with managers, people rave about Klopp but what as he actually won, been at Liverpool 2 seasons now and they are no further to winning anything than they were under Rogers.

Nil lamptey was amazing. I had him in early champ managers. If I'm not mistaken in early champ man games players used to leave at end of season to Europe for 9.9 mil. None of this 200 mil nonsense.

cherno samba was and still is a all time champ man legend I remember being on holiday in Turkey around 2004 and I got speaking to the hotel owners nephew's and we had a cracking night talking about champ man and especially cherno samba ha ha ha.

Dear Billscroc I cannot agree with you on Dyche for stability. I feel stability, in this day and age, is enough. I feel it must be coupled with progress also. For I feel to stay the same is to fall behind. While I know Dyche and Silva are doing fine jobs with their respective clubs, forme, I feel, they are always going to be perennial mid-table managers and what I want for the club is to win the premiership nothing less. I feel this will not be achieved by these 2 managers. I feel that Blanc has a winning mentality especially having won the league with Bordeaux which wasn't a mega rich club like PSG.
Greater stability comes from progression and winning more games because it will stabilise the club long into the future. If you achieve immediate stability NOW with Dyche or Silva it i.

I'd love Simeone but realistically I don't care who is appointed manager to be honest as long as they stop the rot and sort out the problems.
