What do we think about this alleged quote from Troy Deeney at a Watford fan forum that they will kick the sh1t out of Everton.
Surely if he did allegedly say this then if the referee has any spine he should punish every heavy tackle against us as deliberate, furthermore should the f. a. take a stance as bringing the game into disrepute in that is this the sort of example a professional footballer should displaying. This has been widely reported I read it in the times and heard it reported on the radio. I am perplexed that this has not caused more of an outrage. I know it’s a physical game but surely this isn’t the right attitude
Don’t think I’m on a moral high horse and if I’ve missed this discussed already apologises Ed’s
Big C.

{Ed025's Note - silva has come out and said that hes ok with it Big C as it was just a figure of speech apparently mate..still in poor taste though..

08 Feb 2019 22:34:02
Don't give a monkeys to be honest Big C. Sorry to be old fashioned but it is a mans game. I actually like Troy Deeney, all the lad is doing is shooting it off. Anyway what has it got to do with the FA, isn't it possible to kick the Cr*** out of the oppostion and remain within the rules of the game.

Even so though Ed, it is poor taste, and I get that’s how to rattle our team is to get physical as some of them aren’t up for a scrap, but to actually voice that you’re going to deliberately kick the opposition is bang out of order not to mention it shows a remarkable lack of common sense, Perhaps you Mr. Deeney isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box.

{Ed025's Note - its in poor taste mate but its just words in the end, if every time i said to my kids i was going to kill them...i would be typing this on a prison computer.. :)

Troy Deeney looks like somebody has already kicked the rubbish out of him! In all seriousness though tomorrow will be a tough game with Watford out to prove a point over Silva and the home crowd being hostile. We need to remain focused and try and silence the crowd early on, if we show the same intensity that we did against City then we will create chances and cause Watford problems, especially on the counter.
I would like to see the same side as Wednesday bar one and that's Lookman for Walcott, keep Davies in the advanced role and leave Ricky on the bench as an impact sub, he play acts at the best of times and I feel tomorrow would be too much for him to handle from the home crowd. I'd go 4-1-3-2 Pickford, Zouma, Keane, Digne, Kenny, Gueye, Bernard, Davies, Lookman, Tosun, DCL. Let's set up to actually attack and have a go.

I think the terminology should be taken into context on this mate. If he was talking to a journalist he would have said something along the lines of 'get stuck into Everton' which, to me at least, translates as pretty much the same as what he actually said. He was, in effect, geeing up his own supporters and identifying with the fans. I wouldn't get offended by his words, I want my team to do the same to his!

Clout him back then. they are grown men. Feeney only tries to bully the smaller than him like the time last season when he tried to gauge Joe Allen's eyes out.

You know what, I'd buy him in the summer and make him captain. He might only be good enough to play the odd game but boy would he have the players riled up for games.
He is exactly what our team is missing.

{Ed025's Note - if he was a bit younger i would agree with you mate..

09 Feb 2019 09:56:38
Don’t get me wrong, I get it, done it myself, and we definitely need to give it back but just the wisdom of saying it in a public forum and everyone is ok with it, authorities wise?

Looking like a 6-6 draw.

08 Feb 2019 20:15:48
Yes we are away but if we lose won't this equate to 3 wins in 14 games, would that be truly acceptable even to Mr Moshri. This would be acceptable to a proven such as Benitez or dare I say Moyes (first season) but (beats head against wall) this man, does not have a CV (don't mention Olympiakos, micky mouse) , what he does have is a proven 6 month bubble then it bursts. If Mr Moshri can say what he did about Silva, why couldn't he have thought the same about Martinez (incidentally looking like a genius compared with Silva) . P. S. I would love a win but will take a draw.

Sorry to say it but I can see a defeat on the cards 3_1 and more questions will be asked sorry to be pessimistic I will say sorry if I'm wrong 😫.

Ducks you are too impatient. Moyes didn't have a world class CV before coming to us, he finished 17th in his first season yet you champion him. I'm surprised you weren't calling for his head before that 1st season even finished.
What if Benitez comes? you would be posting the same negativity when he lost a few games. I don't think you will ever be happy with any modern manager because you won't give them any time.
I appreciate you have an opinion but your posts are super negative and so repetitive and your obvious hatred of Silva and Moshiri is unjust.

I know we discuss week in week out about set pieces and the manager.

Silva will be going nowhere until at least the Summer, so any talk of any manager coming in before then is a no go.

It is up to Silva to sort out the dreadful defending at set pieces, it has not worked at Hull, Watford or Everton, time to ditch the zonal marking and go back to basics at defending.

In my opinion, unless he sorts the defending out, he will be on his way in the summer.

For now though, the bigger picture is for the players to step up and show some graft and effort.

I was comparing Smit, with Moyes I maintain you could see something there and all of that with no money. After that how many of us were truly worried, I for one never was, I just wanted that elusive look we can beat anyone except you lot to be broken. I have been around since Catterick and beyond, the memory isn't as it was and I also refuse to troll the stats and history but something is surely wrong when you employ a proven failure and what is worse no evidence whatsoever he can improve. I hope above hope we hammer Watford tomorrow and go on a run, even as Ed25 says a draw is acceptable. Mr Moshri must be tearing his hair out but it is a problem of his own making, listening to this advisor that is going nowhere soon apparantly.

{Ed025's Note - its no used crying over spilled milk though DFS, the fact is he is here until the end of the season at least mate, so i suggest we just support the team and see where we end up, if he fails to address the problems he will be gone anyway i expect so just lets try and enjoy it..

08 Feb 2019 22:46:08
Smit don't be so silly. Benitez is a proven winner, he is precisely the type of Manager Moshri (sorry his advisor) should have been looking at for long term and I would back him to the hilt, the reason is obvious. You mistake negativity for realism. Martinez had something but was obstinate, Koeman I wanted knowing he was always a stop gap. Where are the positives with this fella, take two players Walcot and Lookman, Walcot we have all watched for weeks with the ball bouncing off him, making blind runs, and quite frankly not up to standard, Lookman starting on the right a 100 percent improvement again the whole of Goodison could see it. Question, Mr Silva 'why was Lookman not involved, was he injured? ', no it was a technical decision.

{Ed025's Note - they are your opinions though DFS, benitez is a definite no no for me mate but again thats just my opinion, we all have them..

08 Feb 2019 23:01:13
I don't get the Moyes had no money when he broke our transfer record 3 times in his tenure. Silva doesn't have the players to play his way and is just finding his feet. This season is a write off as a transitional season, next season hopefully after a successful summer recruitment we will see a more balanced side that the management team have assembled. Success doesn't happen overnight it takes time and patience. We need next season to get rid of the passengers (siggy, Walcott) and up the fitness to play the high press and then maybe we will see what Silva's vision is. The zonal marking isn't working and I fear for us every time we defend a set piece but Leicester won the league with lesser defenders using zonal marking, it just took them a season to adapt to it. I ain't Silva's biggest fan but I have faith that he can come good and we will see a more entertaining Everton that can compete and not have us pulling our hair out. If you expected to see us challenging this season then you are a dreamer, the project will take time, and this is coming from someone who wanted Benitez.

Just frustrated Ed, and bemused by what I see as ridiculous unfounded answers and excuses for the man. Sorry mate.

{Ed025's Note - as supporters there is nothing we can do about it DFS, i know it just seems like another lost season but we have to live in hope that he turns it around, and if not then im sure you will get your wish mate..

08 Feb 2019 22:51:46
Further Ed, I don't think he will go even if we are defeated tomorrow and beyond. We are in a financial quandry of our own making and as Ed002 says, Mr Moshri will be loath (commonsense at last perhaps) to continue paying yet another ex employees wages of millions a year. I do get where you are coming from mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im as frustrated as the rest of you mate believe me..

09 Feb 2019 08:31:33
DFS Moyes isn't going to rise from the flames like a phoenix, there are better managers out there than Benitez that, if they came would come with less baggage.
Silva is here for at least 2 seasons. Moshiri won't sack him after 1 season and I can't see him sacking another manager mid season again.
Best to just jump on and come along for the ride, where ever it takes us.
