Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see most of these old faces as I'm 16, so I've only ever seen players in the Moyes era/the Martinez era, but it's still extremely sad to hear about things like this.

It kind of brings me to the point that I don't care how bad a player is, so long as they give their all when wearing our shirt, they'll always get my respect in the future. Even Naisy will in the future. He may be too poor for the Prem, but he does his best and that is all that matters for me. If he gets picked he gets picked, it's his job.

I kind of rambled on a bit there, so let me stick to the point of this post. R.I.P Mick. #neverforgotton.

Always put in a shift for the team.

RIP Mick.

I remember him scoring 4 goals, and was fined by catterick for going out of his zone, great player . tom efc.

I remember him scoring the winner and an away win at Southampton in the early 70's. A sad loss and so young

Keith EFC - great post, but no need for the overuse of "kind of". Not being pompous grammar police, just suggesting your words (written or spoken) will be more powerful if you're less non-commital. Mick Buckley, legend, RIP.

Saterdays game shows the squad requirements needed to challenge foe top 4. With Barry out Gibsn not fit and Mccarthy still settling in the midfeild was not strong enough, a team like city need to be stopped in the midfeild. We need a cmid, a winger and a striker in jan if Lukaku is out the others don't look good enough. I posted before that Barkley will be worth 100 mill in 2 years so selling him now would be bad buiseness. thgfest

£100m for Barkley? Lay off the araldite rapid mate, he won't be worth that much. He's good but he hasn't proved anything yet. He dallies on the ball far too often and needs to release the ball earlier as he tries too much. If we get what we did for Rooney then we'd have done well, as it stands.
He may get better and should get better but he ain't all that yet, he's got a long way to go

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet you wished you had his talent . improving rapidly . going to Brazil definitely . all Europe there to watch . 100 million may be justified

Agree0 Disagree0

A long way to go yeah 2 years to be worth a 100mill.thgfest

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be so silly. No footballer is worth £100m. If he did go he's bring in about £40m max. Good player, but people are jumping the gun a little. He's played around a dozen first team games, if that, in total, could be youthful exuberance or could be genius.
I'd rather give him a full season or 2 before jumping on the bandwagon.
Remember Sterling at the beginning of last season, now look at him?
Remember past players like Vaughan, Rodwell et al? All billed as the next big thing, now plying their trade in the championship and man city reserves, respectively.
As for the kid who says I wish I had his talent- what's that got to do with Barkley's potential price tag?

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember guys it's never about how much he is worth as a player, it's about how much he is worth to Everton.
So we need to look at his transfer value from a club perspective and get him signed to a long contract that is valuable to the club.
Waiting a few years to see how he develops might be risky with greedy agents circling for a big payday.
I wouldn't like to say how much he is worth right now. But I would like to encourage Blue Bill to nail him down to a big deal now!

It seems the people touting £100m for Barkley are judging him on one deal, Bale to Real Madrid. That £85m deal was a freak of nature, they don't happen every day and Real we're desperate to trump Barcelona and, consequently, vastly overpaid.
When you consider Ozil at £42.5m, Isco at c. £25m, both of whom are better than Barkley then you have a more realistic valuation.
There's also Gotze, Silva, Mata etc etc who are better than Barkley who cost under £35m.

Agree0 Disagree0

You also had Daniel Levy negotiating the Bale deal who was no doubt playing Real off against Man U, PSG to drive up the price which would've added considerably to his price tag.
