Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

07 Jul 2015 21:58:01
Pennington has been given a three year contract with us today. He is 20 now so that is quite a show of confidence for the lad. Seems to have passed under the radar a bit in comparison with garbutt, browning or galloway. Apparently he's a cb/ rb would be great if one of our lads could become our answer to the backup right back situation. Always nice to see youngsters coming through, good luck to him!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i second that mate..

08 Jul 2015 11:40:43
With living in wallasey I have seen pennigton play for tranmere when they were in leauge 1. he looked a decent fullback and could easily play at cb. a loan to championship club would be good for him then year after he will be able to compete a right back.

08 Jul 2015 13:40:13
Good info Bretto, do you see him as a cb or a rb long term? We seem to have young Centrẻ halls who can play fullback but not an attacking fullback like a garbutt on the right

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 14:46:07
We have Jonjoe Kenny for that Clarkey.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 15:01:26
i think he will properly turn out to be a cb he also got voted Coventry young player of year

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 17:57:54
Haha, seen him for England under 17s and a few times for the youth teams. Makes really good runs, has lots of energy, quick and very aggressive. Hope he makes it.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 22:51:53
Saw he was captain for the u21s in the game they played tonight, must be highly thought of to be captain for them at 18! Fingers crossed he can make it!

Do you think ron vlar could be a possible signing ed. He, s currently free agent.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i do fozz, and he would be a good addition imo mate..

08 Jul 2015 07:14:33
Sideways move Vlaar would think. A good but injury prone player.

07 Jul 2015 21:17:05
Ogbonna signing for west ham because he wanted to live in london we are looking at genk cb kara mbodj, nicolas lombaerts
And Virgil van djik ed do u know much about these cb which one of the 3 cb would u prefer us to sign me I Would go for van dijk

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - van dijk for me as well duke, as i dont know much about the other 2 mate..

08 Jul 2015 01:27:42
Van Dijk has already expressed his wish to go to england, MaCcreedy is said to want a return to Celtic, you would think that there is the bases for a deal there, but givern that this is everton, we will wait till he is in talks with someone eles, and oh, what a shame, he has singed for stoke or norwich or so other much bigger club than us!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 20:14:30
are we missing a trick her Ron vlaar is a free agent why go and spend 8-10m on a player to sit on the bench vlaar is free and would be good for the kids as well to learn from because in a year to two years it looks like we will have stones and Galloway as our new number 4 and 5 .

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would certainly take him konehead..

07 Jul 2015 20:54:59
Agree vlaar a no brainer

07 Jul 2015 18:31:04
. Ogbonna has now officially agreed to join West Ham for £8 million.it would appear he's been swayed by the the very man - Slaven Bilic, who should of been Evertons manager right now after last seasons diabolical showings. oh well, we are now deemed a mediocre team at best & West Ham are obviously more of a catch than us!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - im sure its just the lure of the capital zackiii, west ham have never, and will never be a bigger club than us mate..

07 Jul 2015 19:42:55
Yeh more to do with London than West Ham I think!

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jul 2015 20:03:07
Hence why we can't get a buyer of the club. Liverpool offers no investment to a buyer of Everton, with an old ground, and no Championns league experience. Its the real reason BK won't sell, because we need big investment not small offer for the club n struggle with smallish funds.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - certainly some truth in that howie mate..

08 Jul 2015 06:33:44
I agree totally. We are suffering now due to lack of investment after the formation of the Premier League.that is when we should been building a new stadium and getting new investment. BK took over after the damage was done. At that time we were a bigger club than Chelsea and Man City. Man City got a lucky break with a ground being given to them which attracted Arab investment. Chelsea were sold for £1 if I remember correctly to RA. no one knew at the time how much money he had in his pockets to throw at them. We had Johnson and his hamper business providing bugger all. Joe Royle wanted to sign that lanky Norwegian Flo and was refused 1.5 million by Johnon.Chelsea stepped in and Royle resigned.we were in a pretty healthy position at that stage and a bit of investment would have us. eventually BK stepped in and I think we were pretty close to going bust. He has steadied the ship but where new investment will come from now is anybodies guess.

Everton confirm to ssn that we are in the market for a defender without identifying targets to them. Also reiterating that any incomings will be to strengthen and not replace. Positive stance for a change

Spurs weighing up £20M plus Lennon for Macca? Any truth in that Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea who or what Macca is.}

07 Jul 2015 18:39:42
I think the question was posted for our own Ed025 to answer!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would hate to think so guys, macca is an integral part of our team and to lose him would be a major blow, levy thinks he only has to snap his fingers and players will come running, so i hope the club tell him where to stick his offer!..

07 Jul 2015 14:00:09
Any news on Gibson contract extension? I like the lad when he is fit but he's missing the tour of Asia because he's injured again. We already have 5 or 6 central midfielders why are we keeping him on the books?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2015 19:13:43
Why on earth would you want to give gibson a new contract.can anybody tell me why we do not move dead wood on.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 19:29:54
On a pay as you play definitely, he has a year left but I do think he offers something different from anyone else. He's a great footballer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that sounds like a fair resolution there clarkey..good stuff mate..

07 Jul 2015 19:45:42
The question is why on earth are they sitting down with Gibson before getting the McCarthy situation sorted out first? Am I missing something eds or what?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think the macca situation is being sorted as well kingy..

07 Jul 2015 22:40:29
Hope your right mate

Matteo Darmian agreed a fee with United - looks like Coleman is going nowhere! It is nice to see that although everyone is being 100% negative were not selling our top stars anymore!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2015 13:56:01
I wouldn't bank on it if we don't get top 4 then our top performers will be looking to further careers & pit their wits against top class players in champs league

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jul 2015 14:34:51
Yeah Jonesy, we haven't finished in the top 4 in 11 years. How many star players have we lost.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 16:19:14
If they want to get into top our then surely that's the job to do that.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 16:27:04
How many stars have we had?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 17:43:43
Who cares if we do lose star players. We'll find others. Selling players is not the end of the world and recently selling them has suited us more than them so no drama there.

The club has come out (according to ssn) and said that the players we buy this window are to strengthen the team and not to replace anyone.

Now that's a bold statement so good on them to show the strength of their hand.

Rooney, Fellaini, Arteta, Rodwell (I know.never fulfilled hos potential), Graveson (same principal.ie to a top club)

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jul 2015 19:14:30
Lescott another that left & won silverware @ city

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 20:44:40
Fellaini turned out to be a good sale, Arteta was never a star, horrible player who had corners that even McGeady would laugh at. Rodwell was never a star, if he was a star than so was Vaughan, Baxter and Bidwell.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - you do make me smile swan..you seem to me to be an evertonian who hates everything to do with the club..either that or your just a bleedin moaning old git.. :)

07 Jul 2015 21:21:20
He is a moaning old git, but he is right on this one regarding Felaini. Although I'm sorry Arteta was true class for us. Bit disrespectful the way he's dismissed there. Rodwell was a bit like Grant. Plenty of grace but never made a difference.

Other posts mentioned Lescott. Yeah we didn't want him to go but 18 million profit. Think we did well there.

Rooney paid the bills and Graveson wasn't missed as we still got 4th
The season we sold him in January

So quit with the doom and gloom. Pre season tour starts soon so let's start cheering not jeering!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - amen to that ace..

08 Jul 2015 06:36:20
I also think I touch a raw nerve with Swan. I once came on and said Black was black.and Swan said it was a darker shade of grey! lol

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2015 10:02:18
Cabaye would b a decent signing in the engine room would make us tick,is a good passer can feed lukaku, goes without saying need 2 classy centre halves,a goalie plus a top strker.
Job done.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

07 Jul 2015 12:35:31
If I had 1 wish it would be Cabaye to Everton. A brain at last in Midfield who can pass and use the ball Mccarthy would give to him.

according to the ssn they say in a vile tabloid that I should not have tried to mention we are putting in a 11 mil bid for agbonna then they say it could call into question the future of john stones with Chelsea keen on him u would of though they would realise by now we are not going to sell stonesy the fact we only have 2 senior cb being jags and stones so we clearly need another cb I think this is going to happen all transfer window if we go for any targets ie am midfielder then the newspapers will put 2 and 2 together and say future of mcCarthy be brought into question I hope we do get agbonna he does look a decent player but I just think we left it to late and he will be signing for the hammers I hope I am wrong but we always seem to drag r heels when we adentify the players we want and allow other teams to make the first move in the transfer market

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2015 07:16:28
I have to be honest, I'm struggling to understand where all the negativity is coming from on here at the moment. 3weeks ago the club came out and said that there would be a couple of early signings then more to com later in the window. Low and behold in come Deulofeu and Cleverley. Putting aside people's personal feelings on the two (for me, Cleverley is whilst not world class actually a tidy player who'll fit how Martinez wants to play and Deulofeu is a frustrating game changer on his day) the club have done exactly what they have said. I'm personally excited and nervous in equal measure for the season to come I was like all blues very concerned at times last season, for me though Martinez earned the chance to start the season in charge as results improved massively once we were eliminated from the Europa League and there have been far more high profile managers caught out by the enigma that is Thursday/Sunday football. So come on Blues let's give everyone at the club a chance before we start with all the negativity.it's going to be an extremely long season if we don't.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2015 09:29:40
the negativity is because one of those signings is the least talented footballer to ever live.

Agree5 Disagree5

07 Jul 2015 10:12:58
That's utter nonsense Swan, he may not be world class but he's no where near as bad as you make out. I could list a whole team of Everton players in the premier league era worse than him?

Agree3 Disagree4

07 Jul 2015 14:36:19
go for it.

07 Jul 2015 16:24:17
good post bluestu very much how I see it, there's time yet and as always some of the big clubs need to do business before other clubs can pick up players that become available.
I'm sure e know our targets and are waiting on the right time to complete our business.
I will reserve judgement till we see the new signings playing in a blue shirt!
