I think demba ba would be a good addition to our squad. Big strong decent record at Newcastle.

No thank you. To slow, already have Kone for that.

Hi. new on here. have read for a while so thought I would add my humble opinion. I would like my firat post to be a no thank you to demba ba! Too slow may as well have felli back an play him up front if we're going to do that. surely to play bobbys way we need pace. not whatever it is ba does/meant to do.

I'd take ba on loan if we didn't have to pay his wages but that's not gona happen!pretty gutted that marseille signed batsuayui cause he looked very promising. Also your striker for heenerveen(spelling)he would have been a tasty option aswell!guess we will just have 2 wait and see if bobbie can covince bill 2 part with half our budget on a proven centre forward! Bony and lukaku for me would be ideal but as time goes on I think both have never seemed so unlikely! I still think or at least hope we get at Least one good striker!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ba would be alright to have as a backup if we get someone like Bony or Lukaku.
If it's only on loan for a season I don't see the problem in having him.

I hope that any loan signings made this season. Really pee's me off when they have to sit out playing against their parent club

Last season Martinez came in and during the transfer window we all wondered what would happen to our club. On deadline day he secured the loans of Barry and Lukaku. I think it is fair to say that these 2 played a major part in us getting up to 5th and overcoming some hoodoos such as winning at Old Trafford.
At this moment in time, we have lost these 2 very important players and no-one knows who we will sign. Maybe one, none or both will sign? Maybe RM has other targets lined up?
For those of you who have commented on the spats between Swan and me, you will note we finally agreed to disagree and we will wait until 10 games in to see how things have progressed under RM. I agree that the selling of Felli and the aquisition of McCarthy has improved us as a footballing team. although without Lukaku's goals, Felli's goals will be sorely missed. McCarthy averages less than 1 per season. The next 2 months will be critical to us. We need a proven goalscorer and a quality holding midfielder. everyone knows that. Like I said.the 2 loans happened on the last day of last season's transfer window. let's hope something is sorted earlier this time. I am starting to get very nervous.

Degsy imo.we where luck last season with lukaku.he was on his way back to wba.only for kevin merralas to talk him round to joining us.this is what was reported if my memory serves me right.gareth barry driving around waiting for permission to tailk to us.mccarthy again last day.anything can happen talks break down, problems with medical.etc. I know you can sign a number of players in a day or so.but I hope we do not leave it late this time.because if you play with fire you will end up getting burnt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep. A lot of people were saying I was being negative.but fact is we still will be missing 2 of our most influential players if we don't sign to the same standard of Lukaku and Barry. I guess we will all know how things will progress by end August. I hope signings do go our way and we make even better progression than last season. But it's a big ask. Players are going for silly money. because there is so much money about. The Barry situation is difficult, but I would offer City the 2 million and get him in. Lukaku seems to be waiting to see if he can get Champions League football, so I would be offering a good bid for Bony as 2nd choice. We do have the dosh. We must have 40 million or more available after the profits last year and TV money.

We are seven days into the transfer window with fifty four days to go a bit early to have the noose around your neck don't you think? roberto is still in brazil and as I understand it he and not a director of football is in charge of transfers so no business will be done until after the world cup. yes our neighbours are spending copious amounts of money but as no one gives a cack what brenda says he's at home to do business. so don't panic just yet things ain't how they used to be, bobby lad will do us proud keep the faith. coyb

Agreed grb , he has already stated that nothing will happen until after the world cup, why can't we trust the mans word! the market is quiet everywhere apart from the reds but that's because they are spending the money they'll get for selling their best player! He will have his targets many of them may be related to other players going to their current clubs before they are sold, its not all as straightforward as we all think.

Sides will be more atune to Evertons new style this year so we are going to have to have players who have ability to change tactics mid game to front up to new challenges.
With regards to Lukaku I think if he had a flying start to season with us he'd bag 25-30 if hungry enough.
He is young but if he wants to be the best then he's got to want it.
I think he will step up to plate and to be honest I hope it is with us.
I just wonder if we'll sign 2 quality strikers another two centre mids and a flying left winger?

Starting to worry now, Demba Ba really? Need the bloody World Cup to end, and for Robbie to get back here before Bill spends all the money on a holiday.
