Did we all keep our eye on Coleman then? Especially those who were distracted by his assist last week? Turned inside out n upside down for their first goal - come on hibbo where are you?

My concerns are with Jonny. He wants a place in the side but that performance was far from convincing. Coleman was suspect today but still think he can cut it with more games. He's a right back that's been learning the right wing role for so long then dumped back into defence. A bit more confidence and the lad could press on and surprise his critics.

Yep saw Coleman get himself into a poor body position, just before heitinga decided to not track Kone's run and play the offside trap inside his own six yard box. Then the second goal was heitinga struggling to deal with Kone's pace again. If you want to stick the boots into a player, watch the whole game.
Agree0
Disagree0
Oh that's ok then - he only cost 60 k and he's learning his trade - don't matter that were trying to get champs league the main thing is to nurse Coleman into as good a player as he can be and help him fulfil his potential - we have a crackin team that is still let down in one or two places
Agree0
Disagree0
Ps it's academic now anyway - the only reasons he been getting a game is cos we've had injuries to hibbo and Gibson - gibsons injury has pulled Neville over to centre mid otherwise Coleman would be 3rd in line for right back - soon as either gibbo or hibbo is back Coleman will be benched - I've seen moyes face after some of his errors and he's no fool

heitnga has been p@ss poor. am wondering how he was player of the season last year {Ed025's Note - he has not been at his best mate, not being a regular starter has not helped, but he really does need to step up to the plate..

Was Heitinga sh**e after the world cup and was dropped. Then came good now its the same after the Euros must be the Dutch thing Hunterlaar -Van Der Vaat-Schneider lets remember Hes a good player and there also suffering form issues lets wait and see if he returns to form or he will be gone in january

Wouldn't surprise me - there's big Money tied up in the usual 4 teams making it thru to champs league - they don't want anyone else - especially a club like ours upsetting the applecart {Ed025's Note - its not a conspiracy mate...just poor officialdom..
Agree0

The refs respond to intense pressure from teams like Utd - their fans and managers etc - but they just wave away Everton complaints bcos Moyes doesn't complain strongly enough

This is not banter. As a matter of urgency, we should be contacting those who control match officials, last season the r/s put in an official complaint, and, surprise surprise, decisions started to go their way. Today was the second 2-2 drew, in which the match officials, and not the oposision have cost us now 4 points, How anyone could not see jelivc foot beeing hooked away is quit beyond me. But givern some of his off the wall yellow card desisions, i guess i should not be that surprized. but please lets do something about it.

Why don't you crush a grape?
I said before the game (check the post) that four points would be a good return from the next two games. If QPR don't sack Mark Hughes for the next game then my prediction will come true.
I am Nostrawigus after all!

You have a fair point there but the worrying thing, for me, is the goals we are shipping for fun. It's so unlike us to be so sloppy at the back. Need Gibbo back asap and January can't come fast enough for me, as we need a top DCM, hopefully Vadis.

If you have really bet that we will score 10 in a game, then you are a muppet with more money than sense. It will not happen.

Listen we can't have it both ways, we are bound to concede more goals than normal as we're playing a more expansive game. Would you rather we go back to nicking games 1-0? Like i said we can't have it both ways.

I don't expect sides to roll over ed. I just expect, with the quality of players that we have, to be beating rubbish teams like West Brom, Wigan and bloody Leeds.

Martinez did his homework on us and set his team up to deny us space and time on the ball, which is exactly what we have done to teams in the past. Take it as a compliment, Moyes set the blueprint for how to compete with the big teams years ago, teams like Wigan have taken that blueprint and used it against us. It's now up to us to up our game again.

It is a good start to the season, but could have been better had the officials in both of our drawn games had of kept there eyes open. Newcastle : Fellaini goal was onside and Anichebi's header was over the line 2pts dropped. Wigan : 2 stonewall penalties both on Jelavic not given and with the way Baines takes penalties its 2pts dropped. No qualms with us losing to WBA. So yes its a good start, just hope them 4 dropped points dont cost us a champions League spot come the end of the season. I dont for a minute believe it balances out over the season, maybe if you support another team it does, but with supporting the super blues we seem to get more bad luck than good luck every season.
Dero ( Irish Blue ). {Ed025's Note - i agree dero...maybe if we moaned, like utd & the RS we may get a better deal..

Away point. Had players on the bench to rectify the shortcomings of the first half. Able to still dominate the second half even with some key players not really firing. Still creating 20+ chances per game. Forget where Wigan are on the table. Lots of positives as well as things to improve on.
The international break should be a chance to sharpen a few up or rest up and be back to full strength.

I predicted a tough game before kickoff but I didn't expect us to have to play against the referee as well. I know we didn't play too well ourselves but that was one of the most inept displays of refereeing I've ever seen.

been a while since i posted on here and i know this conversation has been had countless times on here but i was out last night with a few mates ( some liverpool fans) and we got into the discussion of a merseyside eleven. i said pretty genuinely i would only take 2-3 of their players at the minute (suarez, johnson and maybe agger). i also said gerrard on his day or back 3-4 years ago. then they 100% said the only 2 players for everton that would get in their team is baines and felli. no jelavic/mirillas/pienaar, jagielka. deluded or what!!
my team would be
howard (i ain't his biggest fan but reina has been poor)
johnson, jagielka, heitinga/agger baines
mirillas, osman, fellaini, pienaar
suarez
jelavic
thoughts guys?

Just suarez for me. The rest of their team is pretty dire. However I would only take Suarez on the understanding that everyday in training somebody punches him hard in the face because he is a tw**t

I'd take Suarez on the condition he gets a jab or two in the teeth every day, Lucas when he's fit, and Johnson. That's it. And yes they are absolutely deluded if they reckon only 2 blues would get in that pathetic excuse for a team, though they can only get better.

I think the lad is just relating a story about his adventures down the pub, nothing about that strikes me as obsessive. And for them to claim that only 2 toffees would get in that 'team' is hilarious. Leaves me speechless...almost, about the delusional nature of RS fans.
Agree0
Disagree0
Any sensible, genuine, level-headed RS fan would agree that more than 2 EFC players would get in that team. Says it all really that it was down the boozer when in all likelihood they were all severely imbibed, and we all know what intoxication can do to a man's mind as was evidenced by the words coming out of the RS's mouths
