I think fans reaction to that shambles is at last hitting home.
Lukaku tonight appealing for us all to get behind the team.
Totally agree lad, done that for 50 years and when you're off in the summer due to that joke of a manager, I'll carry on supporting them for as long as I can.
Note for all players this week, just shut up and do your talking on the pitch.

Just listen to Roberto again in his latest utterances, seriously cloud cuckoo land is not an exaggeration. 7 years of experience in the Premier League he says, what the heck have you done with it is what I say. It is so serious and I am so serious that, this is my last comment on this board or others until someone at the Club sees sense.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 00:37:51
It's just so frustrating seeing the players post 'disappointing result tonight'over and over again on their social medias. Really drills home the number of games we've thrown away this season. Anyone fancy counting? ha.

Typical Mirallas gets a yellow for a supposed dive stones gets wrestled to the ground in the box no penalty but benteke gets a penalty for his dive but of course some1 breathed on him so its not a dive not to mention dier in spurs vs arsenal game not getting a second yellow for a blatant foul talk about ref inconsistency pathetic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 21:27:00
That's football. Refs have been inconsistent in all the years I have been following football.
Bet there are dozens of posters like me who still haven't got over Clive Thomas.

{Ed025's Note - i still have nightmares over him tedster..

Look at the dodgy electrician, I still remember the cheating so and so's performance over Lescott and squeaky voice. Now look at him picked for Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2016 09:41:22
Talking about referees, how many posters remember Jack Taylor from years ago. Think he was from Wolverhampton or the midlands area. Old school, no nonsense referee. Could teach a few of today's refs a few things.

Our best will 'Leg it'in July.
Bloody disgraceful what's being allowed to happen.
Bill, I hope you on the road to recovery but please pull your finger out.

Could we afford JM now and would we realy want him or dose he move on from club to club to easily.

06 Mar 2016 21:58:55
No doubt short term we'd probably be looking at trophies. Long term I think we'd be looking at new manager in 3 - 4 seasons at most.

Think Chelsea was the only club to ever sack him but he never stays too long at one club.

He's without doubt a top manager that would increase our chances greatly of winning something. On that bases I'd probably like to see him at Everton if he would come. Which may happen now with recent developments.

I'd be looking for a new recruitment of a manager while he'd be here though as you would never know when things would go tits up. Just look at how things went for him at Chelsea this season.

I don't think its a coincidence that they climbed the table since he left. Imo they will continue to do so.

Here is a hypothetical questiom. If all the Everton supporters had a button yesterday to press re subs being made instead of RM what do you think the score would havs been! .

Here's one for you that is similar in a way. If Pulis was our manager where would we be?

Imo we have a far better squad than WB yet they are a place above us. Pulis knows how to keep the players concentrated for every second of a game never mind every minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes another flair inhibitor NBTB, probably higher than we are but at what cost to the entertainment value?, he does get the job done but its all very dour stuff usually mate..

06 Mar 2016 15:48:20
What a piss take of a weekend. Everton 2-0 up with ten men, playing brilliantly, miss a men, then miss a one on one, get beat 3-2. Liverpool getting beat 1-0, equalize, player sent off, win 2-1. Typical, Urgghhhhhhhhh!

Just watched our neighbours dig out a result coming from behind away from home with 10 men, Martinez that is how its done, forget studying Barcelona and how they play, you might learn a thing or two off Klopp.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 16:10:38

Well they didn't give up did they ToffeePaul. 10 points behind 6th 6 points behind 7th Liverpool by the way (our average position prior to Martinez) . This guy just will not get it, he did not accept responsibility for taking Wigan down. I am convinced that in the back of his mind he is happy with middle of the table football and to him that is success. Yes if we had scored the third goal we would have won (as Bilic indicated) but that is just masking over the problems. I have read up on Mr Moshiri and he is no mug, RM's days are numbered.

people saying rooney is rubbish or past it, I take it you don't watch him play, he is a proper team player and I would sign him up tomorrow. barkley will never ever in a million years be as good as rooney. he is a blue and we should be proud of him.

Afternoon Blues,

Just been looking at table.

You have lost 7 at home, conceding 26, the worst in Prem.

Away from home, you have lost only once, conceding 13, joint 2nd best in prem.

If you average it out, it would probably add another 10/ 12 points to your total, putting you in (or very close) to a CL spot.

Please explain :-)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 12:59:01
Dags you've just explained it, its the manager for me, doesn't really matter what us fans say, until the pundits from a certain sports channel start to out Martinez nothing will happen.

we don't have plan b dags teams come and sit back but away home teams cant.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 13:09:00
Baz,
Could it be the 'home' crowd?

A lot of teams get jitters at home, Arsenal included, especially if things are not going according to plan, the fans get restless, which transpires to the players.

You seem to be so solid away from Goodison but 'nervous' at home.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 13:48:20
That's a fair point Bretto.

06 Mar 2016 14:04:40
teams come to goodison and sit back but Martinez subs awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 15:13:21
Dags,
We defend well away from home and score on the break which we are very good at. At home we play attacking football, score and then sit back and defend, badly. Most of our problems are in the last ten to fifteen minutes of the game when we just don't defend the obvious threat from the opposition especially when we are leading. Yes everyone is nervous, the supporters and the players but Martinez is just not learning how to manage this and unless he can sort it out before the end of the season he is gone, I can't see the new ex-Arsenal guy putting up with this for another season, can you?
Mike.

06 Mar 2016 15:53:21
im same ed pity we can't do it american football way moyes with defence Martinez with the attack.

What is this fascination some on here have about bringing Rooney back? You have to be joking, he's past it, not only that but having taken the 30 pieces of silver to go down the East Lancs Road - I don't believe the conspiracy theorists that he left to save the club - I wouldn't have him back in any capacity.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

06 Mar 2016 12:04:39

I think geeting rooney back would atract better players afterall when top players see top players going to a club they start to take notice.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

06 Mar 2016 12:32:23
Harry Kane for me is a top striker, Rooney is at the later end of his career and the money Utd would want there are better options.

2-0 up in total charge of the game lennon in great form working hard, what happens lennon off and a striker put on, I don't like knocking managers and I don't often comment but after watching everton for 50 yrs yeasterday I just could not beleave what he did and with baines on the bench left side wide open so frustrating when defeat could have been avoided.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 16:04:07
Agree Jack, the second Lennon went off they had nothing to worry about and exposed our left side. Everyones been crying out for 2 strikers all season, but when you're 2 up with 15 mins to go isn't the time. The man is an idiot, hasn't got a clue when it comes to subs or tactics.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 11:22:45
Martinez out for me. We are a laughing stock. How can we go from one of the best defending teams to losing so many games. We should be top 4. We have become Wigan. Players will now leave and we will find it hard to attract if we don't do better. We missed a very big chance this year. Look at Leicester there not better than us, but in league position they are. Go get frank de boer.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i would not say we are a laughing stock pb, but to attract and keep hold of your better players you have to qualify for europe, its the holy grail for players and fans mate..

06 Mar 2016 10:44:16
everyone blaming defenders, I blame manager. everyone knows 2-0 up and 10 men you don't bring on another striker. MARTINEZ OUT.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 14:06:51
You can't blame stones for this one as he was subbed at half time. The defending of free kicks and corners are schoolboy stuff. Put a man at front and back post would stop a lot of goals we have conceded this season. If we don't beat Chelsea in cup Martinez will b out on his ear. Koeman from Southampton for me and take forrester the keeper with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Mar 2016 10:37:35
See this mornin chelsea want lakaku back his heart isn't in it anymore let him go for 56 mil let stones go another 45 mil that 101million heard this irian striker is quality scot dan to replace stones could be good buisness we need a new look back four keep mori and build defence round him a new look midfield to keep mccarfy build midfield round him and I've said this many time 2 not 1 striker to play every week and last but not least a new manager some one who will deliver what he says I would bring rooney home we now have money and big money there's nothing to stop us being a top 4 club again with the right manager mariniho would be a good start i'd bet if we got him no one would want to leave he's world class we can't be a middle of the table team we the people want efc were it belongs chalanging for the premiere champs every year not having to wait 25 years.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

06 Mar 2016 10:57:50
Rooney is long past his peak, wouldn't improve the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i imagine he will end up in the MLS or chinese league baz..he is still driven by money like most of them and out of our price range..

06 Mar 2016 11:05:13
Tbone, I to would sell him for 56 mill but do disagree with his heart is not in it unless of course we take the view that all his goals scored are an advert for 'come and get me'.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - his body language is not great at the moment for me, does not really celebrate his goals like he did but would be a massive loss if he leaves..

06 Mar 2016 11:28:49
The absolutely baffling thing though is no matter what RM does there is no criticism from the media, commentators or pundits. He is the Blatter of Everton, can only hope that our current 49.9 percent man gets to 51 percent quickly.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - that will happen over the next couple of years DM its a transitional thing that protects the club, the media love bobby because he is great tv mate..

06 Mar 2016 13:06:42
Can you blame Lukaku not celebrating his goals anymore Ed. Like all of us he knows all his good work is going to be undone at the other end of the pitch, so basically Lukaku can see little point celebrating, and I for one don't blame him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - but while he is still part of this club mike i expect him to give 100% in every match mate, its a team game and we should all be pulling in one direction..

If the mancs end up in top 4 and don't get rid of LVG or take Jose Mourinho, would it be beyond the relms of reality get the special one at Everton? Yes last season it would have been a dream, something the kids do on the playstation, but now surely its a posibility?
3 years under Martinez = zero
2/ 3 years under Mourinho = trophies.

I believe Mr Moshi has a big decision to make end of this season. Do we keep RM and continue floating around mid table with reasonable cup runs. Or do we spend the money and bring in a top manager who will galvanise the team. All repeat all the best teams in the Premier have had a solid defence, a foundation to build from. Arsenals invincibles, Chelsea with Terry (say what you Iike about him the guy could defend) . Both had a phylosphy of don't concede, and one nil is good enough. Our current manager doesn't seem to want to do this. Entertaining football is great when you win, and only when you win. So Mr Moshi has a choice. Entertaining free flowing football and mid table mediocrity. Or controlled football and titles. I know which I would choose.

Woke up this morning hoping one of the headlines would be along the lines of; left by mutual agreement, resigned, sacked.
Wishful Thinking!
The club/ board was in need of a lift which after years of Kenwrights search for a big investor they finally got, its now time for the club/ board to give the players/ supporters a lift.
Currently we have a 'Nice Man' but tactically, defensively unaware man in charge, great watch for the neutral but someone that can't get a string of results together, can't grind out a result, and makes baffling changes to say the least.
As a supporter all I can say is thanks to the man for his recruitment and current value of the squad we now have, but that's now not enough, you see us fans are a greedy race of people and want, no demand more.
We don't want a manager that's a 'Nice Man', we need a manager that is clinical that has a cutting edge, someone that actually knows how to park the bus once we've gone 1,2 or 3 goals in front, until we have someone like that its mid table trophyless mediocricy.

Cobyone, sorry mate but not having of this nonsense.
According to you RMS not to blame, the players are not to blame and it's the supporters
fault!
The same supporters who spend hundreds of pounds a year supporting the blues only to
see M. r. Bungle's tactical awareness destroy their hopes on a weekly basis.
So no apologies, If we scrape a win to Wembley it will only camouflage the shambles that is RM's Everton.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Mar 2016 11:40:21
Yes mate because us fans all done a poll and Roberto based his sub's and tactics on this poll. Not. Blaming the fans is scraping the barrel because defending the indefensible is now becoming harder. Arsenal had 10 men yesterday at Spurs and still managed a draw, what was Wenger's sub, he brought on Flamini to shut up shop and rely on the counter. This was when they were already 2-1 down btw. See that's what a tactically aware and intelligent manager does. Barkley should have been taken off for Barry giving us 3 tacklers to protect the backline and suffocate the West Ham supply line. But hey what do I know its my fault we lost after all.

With the greatest respect, loyalty is earned, not givern. Our manager talks a good game, but, then totally fails to deliver.
Am not a great fan of how bill has run the club, but our new owner must now bring some clarity, bill may have a soft spot for martinez, but we have won 4 home games all season. Last season we were told it was a 2nd season blip, the blip was his first season 5th place built on someone eles team.
He surley cannot go on blaming bad luck, and poor refereeing.
Would love to win the FA CUP, as much as anyone, just remember this guy won the cup and got his side relegated, and used the same excuse book that we have been fead for the last two seasons.

Martinez first season, was it 5 th, with basically Moyes squad plus Lukaku.

Second season, concerns about relegation but second half of season improved but finished outside euro placing.

Third and this season, can't win home games, can't win games when in a winning position. Will finish lower than last season.

This is not progress, but Wigan Mark 2 and is not acceptable.

A poster mentioned about the fans in Gladwys st stand where I go. Speaking for myself, the fans have confidence in the players, but very little in the manager. All the fans want to get behind the team, but as long as the current manager is in place, enthusiasm to do this is declining. Basically, he is the wrong man for the job.

I am not a supporter of Martinez, nor am I in the out group, but he is not the man to take Everton forward.

What manager playing at home takes his top striker off when score is 2-2. This shows he is settling for a draw. Conversely West Ham manager ( who I would love to see as Everton manager) makes subs in attempt to win the game. Martinez is out of his depth without a doubt and must go.

Every time Mirrelas plays there seems to be an incident of controversy. Maybe best for him not to be selected anymore and sold in the summer.

Lennon showing what a good signing for the club.

End of this weeks moan.

Lukaku penalty? His heart is not in staying at the club.
