Don't think Lukaku looked well today, even after he scored the penalty the lad didn't look happy. Think perhaps he is putting it out for the Club and his back is still not right. Incidentally who else noticed the blue flare on the pitch, probably from the same idiots that cost us the game against Bournemouth.

Has any one noticed are remaining games they all look winnable only arsenal at home and man utd away which look tough but even them we could win so we could win every game now till the end of season if he picks the right team that is.

Calm down Skylark, I love optimism but this is Everton you're talking about.
We could slaughter WBA or lose 3-4!

west brom have a very good record at goodison let's not count are chickens just yet villa park as bas as they have been won't be easy, Leicester away very hard, sunderland fighting for there lives at stadium of light not easy, watford very good team at there place, westham have good record at goodison, arsenal are arsenal, man utd away hardest game plus Liverpool are are boggie team, Southampton playing very well at mo, bouremouth very good footballing team, palace away tough and Norwich have very good record at goodison to ad that to everton are the most inconsistent team in the prem far from easy games let's take it game by game and get to 40 points then see what we can do.

Let's not forget our games looked winnable from Oct to jan and we only won a couple.

Murf put a bet on for us to lose them all. 😂😂👍🏻.

Just responding to post below about Kone and mirallas. I don't dislike Kone. Just not consistent enough especially finishing. Poor.

Now mirallas has pace and can finish but as people have said his attitude is poor. If he was a great player we wouldn't have got him from the Greek league.

We should probably take the money from both of them and get a quality player to work with lukaku and niasse.

Think Murf is either a bit drunk or over optimistic. As if any team will pay £1.99 for Kone.

06 Feb 2016 20:19:12
What a difference three points make to your weekend.
Delighted for all the fans and especially pleased for Robles and Oviedo for all the patience they have shown.

When you see how we can play and the points we have thrown away it's going to be a what if season.

Just a word of praise for Leicester. You wouldn't fancy most of their players especially the defenders and Ranieri wasn't on many short lists either It just shows you what a bit of organisation, balance, commitment and belief can achieve.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way there tedster..

06 Feb 2016 20:38:33
Martinez did the same last season and then at the start of this reverted to type. People forget that in his first season we had a blip and the players took charge particularly Jags and Distin in defence, I remember the home game but cannot remember the opposition but suddenly it was as if the players said stuff it and started being more direct. I am absolutely certain that RM is not the man for us, a nice man but unfortunately will always revert to type. At home against West Brom it will probably be Howard back in goal, Stones back for Mori and maybe Baines back for Oviedo.

Agree3 Disagree1

06 Feb 2016 20:45:19
Hahahahaha let's see if you put money on that, n if you win, i'll agree with eerything you ever say again!

Yea but they can't dance like Bobby.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:58:02
Howie, Howard deffo, Stones prob but Oviedo always been class for me and ergo Baines is a maybe.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 21:01:50
Howie only time I have ever put money on anything since being Married was in 1981 on the day when my son was born, walked out of the pub across the road and put 50p on traps 6 and 3 Hackney dogs (on the tip of an old guy in the bookies) , won 90 quid, walked out of said bookies into Abbey National and opened an account for New Born Son. Never been in a bookies since.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your a better man than me then mate..

06 Feb 2016 21:16:41

06 Feb 2016 22:10:15
Just thought, first noticed against Newcastle at home and then just watching the replay against Stoke now, the defensive structure and tactics. Who remembers the Kendall Team of the 80's? that side doubled up in the tackle and the very first tackle tonight when stoke ran at the defence was to double up. My Grand Son's coach has them doing that on a Sunday Morning and guess what, no prima donnas but teamwork and the coach has them doubling up in the tackle (undefeated this season) .

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Feb 2016 01:06:40
Tedster 100% correct mate, if we were well organised I reckon we could honestly be challenging for the title as well.

06 Feb 2016 20:02:37
Ed, when will he realize Kev is far better can score and play on wing and come in, kone isn't good enough and we will lose Kev and keep kone.
Everyone can see it bar him, well done lads today
Let's kick on and go for it and new face come in.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - im not a kone fan by any means pb, but is kev really that much better?, at least kone can hold up the play a bit, i really want kev to produce what i think he is capable of but that happens as often as a preston guild, he needs to show more commitment, passion and resolve for me mate...or send him up the road as well as kone..

06 Feb 2016 20:19:26
He is only recovering from a slight hamstring mate he gas to be eased back into it, but I do agree he is better than Kone.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:20:09
Fair point Ed, can't wait for niasse.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah mate me too..

06 Feb 2016 20:22:20
spot on ed kevs mentality is shocking and a massive down fall to his game, it a awful shame because he could be world class but he is wasting it and will never learn to change it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - total waste muff your right, i think he will regret it in time mate..

06 Feb 2016 20:31:13
Kone holds the ball up but has sod all idea about space and flaps in front of goal. Kevin runs at defenders and scares the stuff out of them plus when he hits the ball from all angles, his ideal position is running through the middle but we have Barkley there and now with Naisies double there is going to be little opportunity on the left (right occupied by Lennon and Del Boy - for me Lennon offers more) .

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - you must have a terrific memory DM, i cant remember the last time kev excited me as much as he does you mate..

06 Feb 2016 20:40:49
Most games I have seen him play Ed, admittedly apart from the stupid penalty episode.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - little cameo,s maybe dm, but he is not a team player for me, those lads out there today in the pissing down rain showed what teamwork and commitment is all about and what it can achieve mate, i half expected kev to come on with an umbrella and hot water bottle.. :)

06 Feb 2016 20:44:36
With the new lad and if he proves to live up to his press I would rate Kone 4th in line but let's see what Phenomenal thinks.

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Feb 2016 20:55:03
to be fair he was class against Chelsea in 3-3 game but his defencive side of his game is poor that's why lennon is getting in before him and clev there much more hard working and can defend plus most importantly have desire kevs is poor he duz it far to little for me and that is down to mentality and desire which kone out strips him in and am not a kone fan this new lad will push kone down the ladder unless kevs attitude and desire changes he will be sold and I for one won't miss him and he will fizzle out were ever he goes.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - no argument from me there muff..

Ah great to see happy blues again on here, 5 th we will finish I reckon only if we keep up them performances either way who would have predicted us beating Stoke by that score away should have been a lot more as well, finally our league form is starting to pick up. COYB.

I'm not sure he's learning but rather listening to the fans who have been saying for months, 'It's our way or the highway! '

Had to work today so missed the game, great result though.
Had the radio on on the way home listening to the reds in meltdown and one idiot really made me laugh.
He was protesting about ticket prices and their walk out then stated that liverpool fans lead the way with the way they do things in protest and cited their stand against Glazers ownership as the main example.
Didn't Glazer own man utd?!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 18:23:33
i agree liam and maybe robbie might just redeam himself as it looks like the light switch has been switched on as there is no more tippy tappy at the back and robles kicking the ball long instead of short passes out. its a complete change of tactic and I really think that robbie has finaly listend but the proof I suppose will be when howard is fit and stones aswell. its only a small tactical change but its a good one and we are still playing our fast attacking football with great one touch football. its up to robbie now to stick with this change and if he does he MIGHT JUST MIGHT win the fans around. well done blues superb performance today.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good post that paul..

06 Feb 2016 18:27:01
Logical and relevant interview for once, none of that phenomenal or excited etc and yes we did defend well. Now the miserable bit, who else thinks that next game Howard and Stones will be straight in.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope not DM..or their will be brown leather all over the shop... where he has shot himself in the foot mate..

06 Feb 2016 18:35:27
It's been such a random season so far across the entire EPL. Two wins and suddenly we're 7th, sometimes that's good enough for Europe. What is going on?!.

Also 3 clean sheets in a row, albeit one against Carlisle but please Bobby, keep Robles in, he's earned his shot.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we are all saying that gibbo mate...but im not banking on him taking any advice from us..

06 Feb 2016 19:15:39
Great post that Paul and spot on aswell we looked way more assured at the back once again and it is a big difference having Joel between the sticks too his distribution is much better than Howard's and when he chooses roll a short one to one of the back four he seems to do it at the right time I honestly think Martinez will stick with him now I think he's played 3/ 4 league games and hasn't conceded a goal and two fa cup clean sheets
Then there's stonsey I like the kid me still think he has a lot to learn but he's still a baby for a full time premier league CB unlike Howard who is in his twilight stones has time he came into the side a couple of years ago and done it so naturally that it got him an England call up then came talk of the big money moves to barca, real, united it must have got to him a bit well it obviously did in the summer but ultimately I think we do expect a bit much to soon but I believe he is one of the most natural defenders this country has seen since tony adams so I agree with ed we need to keep the kid but like I say I still think him not being in the team at the minute is a good thing one he could do with a break and to we go sort of back to basics

One thing is for sure if we keep this up we'll all be happy mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 19:23:12
Fm your question on Howard and stones I don't think he can mate infact the way we played today especially the first half barring injuries it should be status quo.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 20:45:06
dont mention status quo mate it might give robbie ideas about going to another concert.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it paul..

06 Feb 2016 17:34:20
Yea I can watch football first again! Well done boys great performance.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 17:32:51
pod do you think we should sell stones and do what ever we need to do to keep rom.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 18:10:32
I don't think the two are linked. Rom will leave because he's ambitious and wants to win things not because of money. I don't really want to sell Stones but he does need benching and some solid defensive coaching to kick on again. His sale could generate much needed transfer funds for a couple of good signings if he doesn't want to stay here though.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 18:30:31
he wanted transfer pod and tells are fans to calm down sell him before his price comes down no one bigger than our club were strugling without aren't him aren't we sorry about spelling.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 18:34:59
if and when rom says he wants to go let him go aswell no one bigger than everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the sentiment is correct OTB, but in reality who is going to replace him?

06 Feb 2016 17:22:34
1/ 3 of the possession, a clean sheet and two set pieces. Roberto probably thinks this was a draw! Joking aside though that was a really good performance. Players like Lennon and Robles need to keep their places whilst Stones needs to keep the bench warm for a while. It was nice to see some defensive whacks instead of taps.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 17:21:14
Now that's more like it. Three 3-0 wins on the bounce, 3 clean sheets in a row for Joel and the no nonsense defence and Aaron Lennon on fire, with the whole team affected by his positivity. Rapidly becoming one of the best all round players we've had in a blue shirt. Lukaku looked a bit sulky, though. Great to see Coleman find some form and the back of the net with a cracking header. Same team played for last three wins - surely even Bobby can recognise a winning formula when he sees one. Oviedo has been immense and Funes Mori, despite one or two squeaky bum time moments per game, is looking like a great signing, considering no one had ever really heard of him. Our bench looks like an embarrassment of riches at the moment too, not that some of them will get off it very often at this rate. And finally looking like we're getting close to where we belong in the top half of the table. Dare I say it, but I might even feel a glimmer of faith restored in Bobby Brown shoes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - a bit harsh on rom there OHEFB, the guy ran his heart out and even though he was on his own most of the time gave his all...the rest i agree with 100% mate..

06 Feb 2016 17:35:19
A clean sheet, no Howard, no Stones, I rest my case .

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 17:40:16
Sorry Ed, it did read as a bit harsh, when I actually thought his effort was as good as anyone else. Just meant that on a few occasions he looked frustrated and although I understand why, I feel that when he especially gets like that it affects his composure on the ball. I still really rate him. The Stoke defenders were terrified of him. And rightly so, as he's a constant threat and a beast. Just don't like seeing him plod dejectedly sometimes. He loses himself a second or two of reaction time and focus.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we are very fortunate to have him i think mate, we will be bemoaning him next season when hes gone,,

06 Feb 2016 17:53:30
Totally agree Ed. Can't believe I just ended up moaning about something utterly trivial after such a great win! Deepest apologies fellow blues. I shall put on my cactus underpants immediately!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - and i hope they are a very tight fit OHEFB mate.. :)

06 Feb 2016 17:20:44
What do you think should we now sell stones in the summer to strengthen our squad now it seems we don't need him don't get me wrong I think he is a great player but we could cash in on him now we haven't missed him in our last 3 games.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - great talent to have as back up though skylark..i say keep him..

06 Feb 2016 17:36:33
I'm with you Ed025.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 17:38:41

06 Feb 2016 17:45:16
Your entitled to your opinion soldier blue and it is as good as mine. But mine is keep him for the good of the club 😁.

06 Feb 2016 17:10:26
Brilliant 3 points and another clean sheet.
Ovieado, robles, mori and lennon, I love these players. They are so honest and always give 100% and look genuinely like they care. Only bad thing is Kone, his miss again in another game might of cost us 3 points but with niasse hopefully he won't get a sniff.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we were superb pauly..

06 Feb 2016 17:26:45
No coincidence that we have 3 3-0 wins and no Howard and stones playing.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 17:31:08
Kone only on for 15 minutes and you could tell his pace was suspect. Niasse is at least bound to be quicker, plus he just oozes enthusiasm from what we've seen so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 17:08:14
Now as an Everton supporter, that's the commitment we want from our boys. Bodies flying everywhere and making sure they take pride in defending. Barkley you are a star. Robles you come in and all of a sudden we look reliable at the back and have kept 2 clean sheets. You also put your body on the line, unlike timid Tim. And let me say this on a final note. For a player who broke his leg in Oviedo, you my friend are the most courageous player I have ever seen with no regard to his personal well being. Well done all!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - yeah aussie the lads were great today, 100% commitment and to be honest it could have been 10...great stuff COYB..

06 Feb 2016 17:04:26
Time for a libation or two I think. Dare we hope that at last the penny has dropped with the slightly better than fraud from abroad. Keeps a winning side and what do we do only keep another clean sheet and win 3-0.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 18:26:09
Still the same manager dm. Only difference is no Howard which I've said for a long time is main contributor to our poor defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 17:04:03
Oh yeah, and by the way that's no Howard or Stones now for 3 X games and we've scored 9 goals and kept 3 clean sheets. I think that stat alone speaks volumes. I wonder where we'd be in the table if Howard and Stonsey hadn't of played all season lol.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 16:58:50

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 12:24:51
He's probably on a business visa which would allow him to attend meetings but not actually work. I wonder where we'd stand in the unlikely event that his application actually got turned down.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 13:04:14
I thought you had to apply for a visa before the transfer can go ahead if you do not have a valid European union passport or a duel nationally one with European union credibility didn't villa get knocked back on a Czech Republic goalkeeper for the same reasons or was it because of not enough percentage of international games played requirements typical everton senagalese are part french so wouldn't have though a valid visa would have been required only my thoughts but other teams seem to have no problems just us?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 00:07:58
I've read that the club will be preparing offers for new contracts over the next few months to Ross Barkley, Muhamed Besic and Bryan Oviedo. Sounds good to me.
I guess that Hibbert, Osman and Pienaar won't get contract extensions and will therefore leave at the end of their contracts this summer. Gibson, Junior and Mattioni are also out of contract this summer, so they might leave as well. Add the likes of Howard, McGeady and McAleny to the departures list - let alone want-away talent like Lukaku and Stones - plus the U-21/ U-18 youngsters we don't decide to retain and we could be in for a big turnover in the playing staff this summer.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

06 Feb 2016 01:35:17
I see that turnover as a positive. RM has done a decent job of buying youngsters so far but we are still carrying a lot of aged deadwood. Releasing those mentioned more than covers improved contracts for those we consider important to the team/ squad. I have a feeling that most will be offered 1 year deals even though they will offer very little.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 08:41:00
Pod: I guess it's partly a question of whether or not the youngsters are deemed good enough by RM to replace the aging players in the first-team squad. If not, you may well be right about the aging players getting one-year contract extensions. Otherwise, we'll have to recruit players for the squad - especially if we've qualified for Europe and need a full squad of ready players.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2016 12:49:05
For me I'd give Gibson a contract. He's a good player. We need a squad of 20 players and Gibson would be a good player to have in a squad of 20.

He'd get into most squad's in the premiership of 20. Hope his antics outside the club doesn't affect him getting a contract offer. There was talk at the beginning of the season of him getting offered one. Then he had that incident.

The eight others you mention I'm not gone on staying. Maybe Pienaar and Osman on a one year contract. Could be glad of them next season if we get plagued by injuries or somehow get into Europe.

It's good to have experienced players in the squad. We have a lot of youth. A balance can only benefit the squad.
