Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

If the rags are to be believed they are saying Morgan could be back on Monday for the Watford clash, not so sure abou that, also as I said earlier I do not think Lookman or Tosun are the answer at the mo, after last nights start I think Lookman could well be loaned out with someone like Southampton or the likes to take him on loan, Tosun tries hard but I think he is struggling with the Premiership, I am sure this will be addressed in the Jan window by Marcel who is doing an excellent job, we are so close now to being a really good team who can at last challenge the so called big boys.

I think it was unfortunate that Lookman started when the front 3 were switched around so much.
Maybe he would have benefited from starting a game with less disruption

Lookman to be fair did not have a bad game, but also did not seem to be consistent. Walcot certainly not on form at the moment but have to admit he gets himself on the end of chances (fact that he misses from inches is irrelevant LOL) . Disagree on Tosun GB, watched him last night and like Walcot he does get on the end of chances and like the Yak he needs feeding. Not the long term I am sure but something had to be done with Richarlison I. E. Put him back on the wing where he can do most damage, he scored after all. We are no doubt scouting for a striker and also no doubt that at least one or two have been identified. Onwards and upwards.

I felt Lookman came inside far too much, at times when the overlap was on he was coming short and bringing a defender with him and not offering a threat on the wing which he was selected to do.

He is a talented young player but he still needs nurturing into a specific roll and keeping him in that roll, he performs better on the left side but finds Bernard and Ricky ahead of him. He is a good player who IMO is not ready to be a regular starter until he learns the game more.

Bit disappointed about last nights result but you can't win them all. Newc are not the best team in the league but are certainly not a pushover. Some good chances to win but just not our night sadly. It's definitely a clinical finisher that's holding us back because for a number of games we have squandered great goalscoring opportunities that may well have seen us win a lot of our recent games.
Richarlison is not the answer, it's plain as day that his best position is wide left, able to cut in and attack the defence. His game doesn't suit the CF role.
Tosun is just not good enough which is a shame because he's not done anything wrong, i like him and the way he keeps working. We need quality though, not a tryer.
Lookman was a big disappointment last night, but we can't judge him on that performance alone. He has great talent and will definitely come good, he's just not quite there yet.
I wonder if Theo is worth a shot as CF? He said for years that he wanted the role at Arsenal. At times he has shown that he's a wonderful finisher but goes missing far too often for me. Maybe in a new role he would show abit more consistency and allow Richarlison to move back to his natural game.
I imagine January we will look to get a forward but as all the Eds say, it's a tough time to buy. I read a while back we may push for Vardy but would Leicester really sell mid season? Not a fan of him in the slightest but cannot deny his fantastic pace and natural goalscoring ability, seems like the perfect fit for us.
Otherwise a short term loan but off the top of my head i just cannot think of someone available. Loftus Cheek would be fantastic but am i right in thinking he's an advanced midfielder rather than CF?

Another (technically) Chelski player i would love us to move for will probably be met with disagreement because I'd replace Gueye with him to sharpen up our midfield. Marco Van Ginkel. How on Earth is he not getting a chance to show he can cut it in EPL after some really impressive form the last couple of years.

Very sorry for the excessively long ramble guys!

You'd replace gueye! . really?

{Ed025's Note - gana was poor yesterday marc but thats his first blip of the season, i would want to keep him myself mate..

Yes I'd replace Gueye. I like him don't get me wrong and he's a good player for us. But now it's time to look to bring in great players. How many top teams would Gueye get into? To push on to the next level we need to look beyond good and bring in real quality.
Again, i like him but it's time to put sentiment aside and improve wherever possible.

{Ed025's Note - i think hes a great foil for gomes worcester and he does a lot of the dirty work, you need players like this imo mate..

Gomes has the guile, gana has the engine. no way would I replace him.

Fully agree about his assets, he's so committed and offers an awful lot in terms of breaking up midfield play.

My closing paragraph was very much a fantasy signing which would be at the expense of Gueye. Thoughts were naturally a hypothetical of where we could look to improve to become a 'next level team', because realistically we are not yet in a position to get the likes of Van Ginkel or Ndombele etc.

But if everybody is honest with themselves who would you play if we managed that signing? Gomes and Gueye, or Gomes and Van Ginkel?

{Ed025's Note - i know what your saying worcester, i like van ginkel dont get me wrong but would he run through brick walls for the club?, i think gueye would mate..

Gana is great but, we need a quality defensive mid to challenge him.
Dembele who can't nail down a consistent spot at spurs but can boss a midfield would be my choice.

We are going to have games like last night and feel frustrated. It shows how far we have come. Not just the way we played last year but the actual squad. If you go through our team how many would get into a top 4 team? I would say 8 players have the quality to do so. Pickford, both fullbacks and either of the x3cb. I did have concerns with Coleman earlier on in season after injuries but have seen over the last few weeks he is back. Gomez and Gueye definitely. Sigurdson yes and would be even better if he had someone in front of him to supply.
Richarlison definitely. Lookman and Bernard have the potential to step it up, Lookman has the ability but is still learning reminds me of Sterling a few years back great up to the final pass or finish. Bernard just needs time to get used to English game and I saw enough in the derby game to convince me he will adapt too. That just leaves us with the striker that’s missing. We have good squad players behind these Kenny, Holgate and Baines. Davies, Banigime, McCarthy, Schneiderlin and Walcott. DCL is ok for a 2nd striker and may come good in a few years. If we can find a striker who not only scores 20+ goals a season but is that player who gets important goals when teams come and defend deep to frustrate us. It’s fine margins sometimes in the premiership to win games a penalty decision, a set piece but that clinical striker to get an important goal takes the pressure off. All successful teams have them. Over to you Marco and Marcel.

Really disappointed that Lookman didn't take his chance. But I think we should give him more chances as Walcott has been dire. It was taking so much effort to get in to attacking areas so when th goalie puts you in with one drop kick you need to make something of it. I still have Lookman ahead of Walcott. BERNARD is a good player I think but isn't quite clicking yet but played well in the derby. Another thing I saw is the need for a CM. Geuye is brill, one of my dad's but when we are controlling the midfield like we did, we need more creativity. He was in da giroud positions at times and had space but did nothing with it. Full backs were poor. We have no box prescence which is a big issue. Obvious a striker is needed and while I like Lookman and Bernard I think we need a quality winger. The goalie, defemse and midfield are fine it's the front 3 which are lagging behind imo.

He's brilliant off the ball but not great on it.
The kind of player who is key, when the team doesn't have much of the ball but now were transitioning into a team who presses and wins more of the ball our player needs are changing.
