Moving onto the next match, what do we all think about how we will line up against the Chels? Same side as prior leage matches? Like to see Mirrallas swap with Ross more through the play. Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Same side would be difficult unless United let us have Fellaini for one last game!

For me pending injuries from internationals I think it will be:

Howard

Coleman Distin Jags Baines

Gibbo Barry

Miralls Barkely Pienaar

Jelavic

Subs
Robles, Stones, McCarthy, Delfolu, Kone, Oviedo, Naismith

Lukaku will be unable to play I believe

Agree0 Disagree0

I suspect that Heitinga will be on the bench instead of Oviedo.

Agree0 Disagree0

And osman, also think mcarthy will Start insyead of peanuts

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Gibson will be on the bench if he is fit for our next game so McCarthy may start in his position. Our squad is much stronger in depth now when you look at the bench and the players not listed above . Alcaraz, Osman & Heitinga.

Joe Mc - EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Gibson will be fit and it's a big game for McCarthy to make his debut. Heitinga probably will be on bench that was a lack of thinking!

Bring on Chelsea!

Howard
Coleman jags distin baines
Mcarthy Barry
mirallas Barkley Pienaar
Jelavic

6 British players in the starting line up, not many clubs do that, can't say we are not doing our bit for the British national teams!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

4 British players - Republic of Ireland part of the EU.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're going to be pedantic Fancy Smith, Britain is also part of the EU, Rep Ireland is just not classed as Britain

howard
coleman jagielka distin baines
mccarthy gibson
deulofeu barkley mirallas
kone

if gibbo is fit he must play if not then barry
pienaar must be dropped he has been poor and we could do with deulofeu's pace against cole if we move mirallas on he left
jela must be dropped too not good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

"jela must be dropped too not good enough" and your solution is to play Kone, who has been worse than Jelavic? Kone's display against Stevenage was one of the worst performances from a striker I have ever seen

Agree0 Disagree0

Well you never watched jelly last game he's non existant in the game well apart from being offside every 5 minutes

I've waited a few days for the hysteria of a transfer deadline day to die down. Now it has, my take is this, quite happy with the incomings. Barry, an old head who's experience could be vital to advise the likes of Barkley, Mcarthy and even the likes of Lundstram. Mcarthy himself, an exciting prospect who, given time, will hopefully be a star for years to come, and Lukaku, delighted with him, it might be only for one season, but that's all we had Lineker for, and despite the team winning sod all that year, he was a resounding success, so let's hope Lukaku can recreate something close to that. On the selling side, a little bit gutted to see the big fella go, cos, personally I liked him, but he certainly isn't irreplaceable. As for Anichebe, well for me, and granted, its just my opinion, but I could of thrown a party if we'd of done no other business apart from selling him, such was the low esteem I held him in. But for all this, the most satisfactory thing to come from the day was the fact that we kept hold of Sir Leighton Baines, a true Evertonian and, it appears, a true gentleman. I just hope we tie him to our club for the rest of his career, but to do that we need to have more transfer windows like the one we've just had, and prove to our better players that we have ambition. Over to you BK, who I trust, but with the non entities on your board, I have my doubts. But we'll support you evermore, whatever the future holds. Park Ender {Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

I have been away for a month and I have come on here to see some git using my name to post under. The bad part of this is that the fake Mike was posting positive things. It was not me, but don't worry I am back now so the quality of this site is about to go up.

A few thoughts to get back into the swing of things.

1) Gareth Barry is a has been and a waste of a wage
2) Romelu Lukaku is just the Belgian Anichebe
3) Why are we paying £13 million for crap like James McCarthy
4) Aruna Kone is probably one of the worst players to have worn the shirt.
5) What was the point in getting Alcaraz?
6) Roberto Martinez needs to wipe that stupid smile off his face.
7) The new 3rd kit is horrible.

Ahhh, that's better.

Mike {Ed025's Note - welcome back mike.. :(

Mike here - hey guess what you're not the only Mike in the world or even on this web page and I'm not a git you are - and just for that I'm going to carry own using it haha - it's my name don't wear it out - you can stick to miserable mike or real mike etc because positive mike owns the name mike from now on!

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe i don't understand negative mikes humour.

1) barry is and has been an england international and won the league doing the no nonsense job in def midfield we currently lack.
2) lukaku is twice the player of anichebe, he actually scores goals, and pretty regularly too. try belgian drogba.
3) to call james macarthy crap suggests you don't watch football. at least wait till the lad plays a game. combined with the lukaku statement leads me to think you  merely comment negatively on players for the sake of being controversial.
4) judging kone after 3 games as sub is naive. besides, we all remember mickel madar.
5) point of getting alcaraz was to cover the possible move of heitinga and recruit a defender used to playing as part of a back 3
6) would you rather the dour, cold stare of mr personality david moyes?
7) who cares about the 3rd kit? it's the 3rd kit for a reason isn't it?

hank {ed025's note - i dont think you know mike very well hank...hes the town nark!...when he kicks the bucket, it will have on his grave stone " who the hell are you looking at!".. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree with one point he makes

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough, but I'll always defend the team when I think someone's made a ridiculous statement. I guess this bloke has made a name on here for it. Not a bad plan really, have a negative view on everything, even if there is no logic behind it, and everyone else kisses your . for it.

I really enjoy this website being an expat overseas blue but I'm flabbergasted at some of the comments on here. The squad is much stronger now even with Fellaini going. McCarthy and Barry could go straight in as central midfield pairing and Osman and Gibson would find it difficult to dislodge them. ed keeps telling you that we've not received the TV money yet FFS! What if we've spent everything from Fellaini deal, we are stable financially and have a manager who knows what he wants, come on no one believed we would be buying shirts with Lukaku on this year. What if he is on loan? Would you rather see him in a blue shirt or watch him terrorise Jags and Distin this year? Barry will be after his England space back and will help bring out the best in Barkley. Football is a business, we've brought 7 players in, sold two for more than their worth ( many of you would have given a lift to Vic to get to West Brom) Fellaini, if Moyes would have been in charge would have been sold for buttons, like Rooney was. 27.5 mil great money for us. Grow up and get behind the team for Fks sake.

Lets see what happens in January, until then, enjoy the game.

I. Feel the importance of Baines stayin is so important to everton, .its as important as gerrard stayin at lpool when chelsea were after him .players like Barkley now have arole model at everton, one of them who has shown his loyalty .from day one of this transfer window it for me was about keeping Baines .he has shown that he can make the step from player with potential to a player of international class and do it while playin 4 everton .i hope a board recognise this and make him an offer that warrants his worth and loyalty to everton .i don't feel we've had an icon who represents are club for a long time for me Baines now is that man .

Everton are on the brink of being taken over by Bill Gates these were the words of Bill Gates " it's an honor to take over a club the greatest in the world everton. it was my dream to own a soccer club and especially Everton it can't get any bigger than this. " Bill Gates who just arrived this morning said the first thing he would do that he will be paying moyes to never set foot on Goodison Park. PKBLUE

I don't understand why fans want us to spend every penny that comes in there is a large debt that needs addressing I for one would not be too disappointed if that got sorted.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree. Fans seem happy with spending a lot of money and getting players in, but things are a lot more complex than that and if fans ran the club we would be in Blue Sqaure Bet prem!

Agree0 Disagree0

Understand what your sayin and agree with most of it .i just hope if we need a fernando type of signing we can go out and do it, .but Baines stayin the emergence of Barkley .n mc carthy and Lukaku, and with good back up, we are in good shape .just hope if a player is there next window that we need there's no excuses .but again instead of slagging the board which they've deserved by the way, they deserve a pat on the back for shrewd business

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree these are our " optimistic " fans when we spend : " oh no bk wt* have you done you're going to ruin the club we will go to the administration if we spend like this with our debt! bk out!
when we don't spend: oh no we're going to get relegated we needed top class players or the top ten will be difficult! bk out! pkblue

everyone as different opinions on players/football but how people can knock barry is crazy he is a real good pro can tackle /pass/hold the game up when under pressure ok he's not the fastest but the way rm plays this won't be a problem I think he will turn out the best signing for the blues without a doubt .mccathy will treble is fee in 2years time very good player.think the spanish kid should be playing now with them 2 in the team.peanuts/osman been decent players but time to to sit on bench .antolin is a top class defender if he can stay fit wants he gets in the team he will hard to replace.got doubts about kev don't think he's as good as people make out [again just my opinion].

Sorry for this post and I'm a bit embarrassed that I have to ask it. But who is our vice captain? I've not really thought about it until my 6 year old asked :

Just to add my 6 and 4 year old sobbed for a full 10 minutes when I told them Felliani had been sold on Tuesday morning :( The only consilation I have taken from seeing them like this is the realisation that I have made them into staunch solid devoted blues and their hearts are with the club.
