The Pro's and con's of our current situations;
1. Form - pro's - its only temporary
con's - who can change our form other that's the team itself and who will be catalyst in motivating this change?

2. Bobby - Pro's - He's instigated a playing style that's good to watch, when we're good we're really good!
Con's - we've been exposed and found out this season, teams know how to counter us, and there appears to be no plan B!

3. Ross Barkley - Pro's - He can be a game changer and has that touch of magic that can win games! Still very young with a lot of learning to still do.

Con's - He has suffered a lot of injuries, doesn't influence games over 90 minutes and is he actually going to develop further?

so question is who will stand up on the pitch and be the general! do we stick with RM and persevere with his philosophy's and should we cash in on Ross? given that he could be worth much more potentially.

The Pro's and con's of our current situation (more like predicament)

Con's - RM is our ticky tacky my way or the highway boss.

Pro's - BK has the power to change our manager and find a more pragmatic and less dogmatic replacement .

Yes there are many factors which have lead us to where we are now!

However cutting your cloth accordingly is and probably never will be Roberto's way .

He will never play ugly football and he also doesn't care if this means the consequences are relegation!

What we need is more balance, an option to change the style when necessary, he is a young manager and still learning as well, mourinho was sacked after his first spell and was heavily criticised for the teams dour playing style, this has changed and is much better now, RM must realise that even the mighty Barca have eventually been sussed and can no longer dominate in a way they once did, also they had a team with world class players we don't, so we should be able to adjust our playing style accordingly.

Roberto Martinez quotes on gk

In a move that seems to cast doubts over the long term future of back up Joel Robles, manager Martinez said:

"Obviously Tim Howard is out for a while and we are a little bit exposed"

"If we could bring in a goalkeeper it would be a long-term aspect."

"We need to be relying on experienced hands. There are a couple of options that could fit in well, but I won't bring someone in for the sake of it."

It goes without saying he should already be looking for Howards long term replacement!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want ugly football Blue, then Stoke is not far away, but some of us had enough of that under Moyes we want better. I know we're struggling at the moment but the way I see it is short term pain for long term gain and for that Martinez has my full support.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the greatest bit of man management this. What he should be saying to Joel is that he is the same keeper who kept three successive clean sheets in the 2013 FA Cup quarters, semis and final ( I think ) and that Howard is past his sell by date and that he can stake a long term claim. In the meanwhile Martinez needs to take advice on what a good goalkeeper is, do the deal and then talk to the press about replacements.

{Ed025's Note - i think he should say to joel..."heres your P45"..

What about tempting George Graham out of retirement - he's still a youngish guy - not much he doesn't know about footy!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Martinez over him all day long

you mean Martinez our current manager - who is absolutely useless and has taken us into freefall with his 'possession' and safety first back passing to defense/Howard all game long - that Martinez?
If so, yeah - I can see how he would be much better than a guy who won 2 league titles and several other top trophies - without a doubt you are correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent manager in his day but he is now 70

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes that's the one I mean. Graham is a dinosaur mate it would take him a week to get to the ground on his zimmer frame and you can forget what ever he has won in the past because football has cjanged too much since he left it

Agree0 Disagree0

Graham looks spritely enough to me when he's on the tele - even if he is 70 - we're after knowledge not sprinting ability.

And he commentates on footy all the time and knows what's what.

Please tell us all how football has 'changed so much'. And why Graham - from his role as TV pundit would not be aware of these changes.

Lastly - please say why you think Graham would be worse than a guy who has got us into a tailspin and losing every game?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you pick a boss on the basis he commentates on a lot of football then surly you shoud of said andy grey or linerker

Mark Schwarzer looking like he moving to Leicester, is this because kasper schmeichel is out longer than expected or does this free him up to leave hope so he is due to be back fit in January. Probably more wishfull thinking.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think he's out till March

Not his biggest fan, but would anyone take Aaron Lennon off Spurs? Very one-dimensional in my opinion, but his pace could add something we desperately need.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think thats an indication of how far we have fallen huw, when aaron lennon would improve us..

Rather get deulofeu for pace then lennon

Agree0 Disagree0

Than Mgeady

in a heart beat

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would have john lennon before him murf..

I think mccarthy is boss, so you deny lennon is awful? Spurs fans on twitter want rid, too one dimensional and loses it too much with no end product, which is right.

Agree0 Disagree0

You read it wrong Swanny lad, I simply stated I would have Lennon rather than McGeady mate, I agree Lennon is crap but certainly not as crap as McGeady, hearing they want 9 million for Lennon too WTF as if, didn't the rags say Barca want 8 million for Delboy, I know who I would rather have mate
