The next two away games will be really tough against two teams in early season relegation trouble. I would take 4 points now, which would set us up nicely for the derby game.

Also I would like to see us bring in Odjidja-Ofoe in January, I think the squad lacks quality in central midfield.
Anyone see Rodwell last night? That 12million received is looking better and better every game!

Well said, although I think I'd be unhappy with 4 points from them 2 games. Really we should be taking the maximum but they won't be easy games.

The way we are playing, think 6pts should be the aim, despite QPR and Wigan's form this season, it will be a very good test for us, really the next 3 games for us will set our season up. Typically, these are the fixtures the Everton of previous seasons will screw up, I mean take a look at last season and in the upcoming 3 games (wigan, qpr and the rubbishe) we took 2pts from them, if we want top 4, we should be aiming at least 7pts.

I always think when I read the "What's the best current team" messages, to what about comparing the current to the best players I saw play in the mid 80's. If you want a successful team then how many of the current team would get in? These guys set the bar very high.
I don't think we have anyone as fast as Stevens or Rats, or as good in the air as Mountie, and that was at both ends! Psycho is probably a better defender than Bainsey. Lineker may have replaced Gray but he is the best natural finisher I've ever seen. Is Jela at that level?... Is peanuts better than Sheeds?... I'd be interested to see what you guys think?

That team would wipe the floor with the current team. Now, I'm not saying that the current team is bad, but that team was quality.

Don't know about any of todays players getting in that team its to hard to say but I'd have greame sharp in before lineker

These comparisons are almost impossible. The team of the 80s was awesome...no question. But ask yourself this. How long would psycho last on the pitch with today's refereeing? Would zonal marking have stopped lineka having the space he had back then. How often would sheedy have been exposed for not tracking back? How well would big Nev have dealt with a plastic football that moves all over the place?

Tough questions to answer IMO. But to compare Moyse boys who havnt won anything to Kendalls team who did, is probably where the answer lies.

Tough question.... Even tougher answer.

It was only about 1026 league games ago, so things haven't really changed that much.
SF. Old Swan.

Impossible to answer as its a completely different game these days. Much faster, less physical. If you played using current rules and conditions then the present team would probably win and vice versa

Osman overlooked again for the England squad. Lenon, Walcott and chambelain are all to similar also sterling was in the last squad, y do we need so many of these fast, pacy players. As anyone else noticed this

Did anyone read what Tim Howard had to say yday about us having match winners in r team. He was spot on, if u look around the league not many teams have the ammount players we have to produce something special in the final 3rd. Jelavic, pienaar, bains, mirales, felli, hibbo. Also 1 of these days we will score all the chances we create and some poor team is going to get a bad hiding at or expense. I am so happy I'm one of the chosen ones COYB
