Digne is the standout success, Mina the standout fail. Richarlison is going to be brilliant (cut out the falling over) Bernard a class act, Gomes good but for me not a priority, Zouma is the problem, we need this lad but I fear we will lose out.

{Ed025's Note - zouma is the glue that holds that defence together BCT, hes a class act and his signature should be the No1 priority for me mate..

Ok so 7th gone but been a very positive end of season and icing would be to add Spurs to the top 6 teams we have beaten and very possible with no Kane or Son for them. So we all know we are crying out for a striker and doubt many will agree but i'd like us to bring Edouard from Celtic. I know he is in a poorer league but the man can finish and given how many chances we create i believe he could be prolific. Van Dyk came from scottish football and as much as it pains me he isn't too bad. Anyway, season almost over and let's pray we continue where we have left off. Zouma a must sign and Gomes too please.

Looks like 8th place. Oh well, that leaves next week as our “Cup Final”. 🤣

Maybe the Wolves will get a ban because of the hideous mask their home fans wear.

Ah it just wasn't meant to be.
I'm not bitter though and I'll be the first to say that Wolves fully deserve 7th place. They have had some really good results this season especially against the top 6 and unlike most newly promoted sides they've gone to places to win. Ultimately the banana skins against Fulham and Palace have cost us dearly towards the end. There's always next season so fingers crossed.

But if Galloping Meese of Watford (pleural for moose? I know they’re the Hornets, so why do they have a moose on the badge? ) beat MC in the FA Cup, finishing 7th wasn’t important in any case.

Finish the season on a high note, beat another top 6 club, and start the whole season again in 2 months.

Wolves had a season in the championship with NES to get used to his style of play, we have had to use this season to get accustomed to Silva's style which we have finally done with the form at the back end of the season. We need some decent accusations to add to what we have already and we can hit the ground running. Well done to Wolves and consistency has been key but I do feel they will be found out next season as their style relies on the counter attack and once teams have figured this out. Onward and upward next season and hopefully put in a serious challenge to the top 6.

It’s funny how consistency is the reason for Wolves success this season compared to our inconsistency, yet they are only a few points ahead. I’d hardly see United season as consistent yet they are far ahead of Wolves. Bottom line for me is they beat us fair and square at Goodison and were good enough for a draw at theirs. I would think that if there were another 5 games to play we would overtake them, but they have 7th in the bag and fully deserve it.

Will they suffer second season syndrome next year? Don’t care really as we will be above them if we continue to improve and hold onto our loan signings.

Wolves have done well with injuries and have played well throughout the season. If we hadn't fallen asleep for 3 months we would have finished in and deserved 7th.

The test for them will be can they keep their top players. Will any of the big boys come sniffing around Neves and Jota.

For me Zouma is more of a priority than Gomes but I would definitely like both if it's at all possible? I know we have Schneiderlin there also and he has filled in good enough and his performances are miles better. The but for me is that he isn't anywhere near as attack minded as Gomes is.

Theo Walcott definitely needs to be replaced, offers very little if anything to the team. We are fine when Richarlison plays there. Even the lesser spotted Ademola Lookman had a few minutes in the game last night as well. I've a feeling that he will want to leave to get game time as he's not getting much here, shame.

If Gana goes in the summer then he will be a massive loss to the team and I for one will be devastated. His work rate and attitude has been first class since we've signed him. He's not sulked, just got on with it.

Then there's DCL, I like the lad. He holds up the ball well, offloads it good enough and brings others into the game but his achilles heel is his poor finishing. I would also like to add his work rate is top notch and he runs his socks off. We need a goal scoring striker and unfortunately he is not the answer.
I know everyone we bring in will be a potential gamble but a striker has to be the top priority in the summer for me.

As for a RB it's in a good place. We still have Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny as his back up. Coleman came back from that horrible injury not playing the best in all honesty and a bit rusty. However I think his performances are good of late.

Another great home performance/ clean sheet. Really hope we can keep hold of Zouma.

And Scheiderlin has shown in the last 3 games he's still that player from his first season.

As much as I'd love us to sign Gomes if we can't and he goes to spurs etc Schneiderlin has shown he's a more than capable replacement.

Brilliant second half of the season and should give us all huge optimism for next season.

Now onto Spurs who I'm super confident we will beat and it's been a successful season imo

Yes great performance tonight, what would the score have been if we had a good goal scorer?
It seems to me we can manage without Gomez but need to keep Zouma and Gaye if possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2019 03:32:09
It was a great performance dark clouds and good to see you have moved a long way from your stance over the season that Silva wouldn't and shouldn't last the season.
Unfortunately I agree with you on the need for a good goal scorer. DCL has played really well and will be some player in the future but doesn't yet finish as well as we need him to, I don't believe we should go into next season without a 20 goal a season striker and that must be one of Brands key priorities
Gomez and Zouma are also priorities for us (as well as keeping hold of all the players that started last night) If it was a straight choice between Gomez and Scheiderlin then Gomez would be in my side every time but we probably need both to cover dips in form, injuries and suspensions

At the end of the day it's pleasing the way we are finishing the season but frustrating because of the couple of months and poor performances. What If?

Not yet convinced about him, but do accept that jumped the gun on Silva needing to go, all based on evidence of his CV in the Prem. He has had a full season now, let's see what recruitment and Departures bring in the Summer. Absolutely made up with our form end of season, next season we need the consistency of say new boys Wolves, they are the ones going to challenge our aspirations for top 6.

Make no mistake Schneiderlin has come in and done a decent job in Gomes' absence but to say he's an adequate replacement is far off the mark. If we want to improve we have to sign a higher calibre of player than MS, remember this guy has been missing for almost 2 seasons and because he's had 3 decent games you want him back in the team full time? Thankfully, I don't believe this will be Brands or Silva's plan.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2019 11:37:20
It will be interesting to see who plays against Spurs. I believe Gomes will be back in the side. He brings a creativity that Schneiderlin can't emulate and we will need that against a team like Spurs away.

Don't change a winning team unless you have to bluemike. Gomes will have to win his place back.

04 May 2019 13:58:08
Schneiderlin was superb in his first season, we were all fawning over him that year! His next season wasn't up to scratch yet that could be said of the entire squad as we struggled under 3 different managers. Him being linked to a training ground spat and being sent home (not even sure if this was true? ) with KM seemed to put the fans against him and he never really recovered from that for some time. He'd get pelters for every mistake when he was on the pitch, booed when he was brought on etc. He may have only had a few appearances of late but he has proved that he is good enough to be part of the squad. There will be suspensions, injuries and loss of form for players during the next season so he will be needed. Going out and paying huge fees to bring in a player in the same position is silly really when you take into account that we need cover in other areas more desperately, CF, RB etc. I hope he can continue to prove his doubters wrong and get the fans back on side, on his day he is quality so let's give him the platform to play without fear of being made a fans scapegoat and get behind the lad whenever selected to wear the shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you there BP, i was not happy with the training ground incident i must say, but everyone deserves a second chance and lately he has proved to be an asset to the club mate..

04 May 2019 14:21:12
Totally agree ed025, if he can continue with this form and even step it up a gear then we have a very good player in our squad. Us fans need to give him the benefit of thd doubt, wipe the slate clean and see where he goes from there. Could save us a few quid come the summer that would be better spent in other areas.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - absolutely mate..

04 May 2019 15:55:03
I have no quarrels with him being a squad player bluepotato but as a starter? If we are to kick on surely a higher quality of player is needed in the middle of the park?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2019 17:52:38
Don't change a winning Team. Dropping Schneids against Spurs would be a slap in the face and not good man-management. Different if he had played so so but he has played how we know he can.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2019 18:14:10
He's done well in the last few games that he's started, BB, so why not? He's got the quality and keeps things ticking over in the midfield and he has a good understanding with Gana (if he stays) so I don't see a problem myself. It's all well and good saying we need a better calibre of player but who? If we miss out on a Euro spot then where is this better player coming from? It will be hard to attract such players without having to throw silly amounts of money at them and I don't think FM and the board are happy to go down this road any longer.
We need to strengthen in other, more pressing areas of the squad as I mentioned earlier so there's no point chucking money at positions we might not need to fill in the coming season.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2019 20:56:19
Why not try Gomes and Schneids against Spurs, it would be an option if we cash in on Gana, plus we've Davies, and Jimmy Mc for next season, plus any number coming through from 23s. My main concern would be a replacement for Siggy either next season or one after. Also we are crying out for goalscorers either attacking midfielders or a striker.

Are you mad Blueboy? What is your reasoning to drop Gana for the last game of the season?
