Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

How anyone can have a go at the club, manager or players after that game yesterday is beyond me. Yes, it was only one game but the majority of those on the pitch showed a bit of passion, desire and determination and put a real shift in. The biggest plus point for me was the atmoshpere, the fans inside Goodison really played their part in driving the team on. It was like a bear pit once again and that does transpire to the pitch, lifting our team and affecting opposition players. We need more of this at home for the rest of the season whether you're a fan of the manager or not.
We could have even pinched it towards the end if we had a clinical forward but, that said, we did also ride our luck. Wasn't the best derby game yet there were positives to take from it moving forward. I think Walcott could do with a spell on the bench as it just isn't happening for him right now. Can anyone tell me if Lookman was out injured? Would explain his omission from yesterdays squad if he was.

After the first game at Anfield, this was always going to happen and Klopps comments only added fuel to the situation. The top 6 Clubs in the Premiership are streets ahead of us at the moment but these Derby's form goes out the window. Up to the Cardiff game, Silva was showing true to form and his history. Let us see how we do next three against Newcastle, Chelsea and West Ham, is an expectant 5 points from 9 reasonable.

{Ed025's Note - i would say yes mate..

Well it's a long time since I remember us giving liverpool a run for their money in both the seasons derbies.

Totally agree, Smit, but I expected one or two to twist the post to have a go at Silva. Usual suspects eh.

And here comes the other one! I'm not too sure what your point is, DC?
'Yes, it was only one game but the majority of those on the pitch showed a bit of passion, desire and determination and put a real shift in. '
I think I covered your comment before you even read this.

What happened after the first derby when we where magnificent, let's see what happens in the next couple of games.
To be honest Liverpool where poor on the day by there standards and we where good by are standards.

I was talking about one, specific game, DC. You're always on hand to beat everything EFC with a big stick, it wouldn't hurt you to give credit where it's due. So, sticking to the OP, did you think we played badly with no passion, no desire or no determination? Do you not think the fans made it an intimidating atmosphere? Where there no positives to take from the game moving forward? Will you always have to have a moan at every post that doesn't fit into your half-empty glass?

We have been much improved in the last 4 games, so it's not just one.
Not back to how we were in November but we are turning the corner.

DC won't be happy until Allardyce is back playing his 7 2 1 formation with 2 defensive midfielders and Tosun 40 yards up the field.

I have said all season that we have advanced so far from the squads we had under Koeman, Allardyce and the last couple of Martinez's seasons. Lukaku and Barkley papered over our inadequacies. Offensively we are back to where we were. Defensively we could do with some improvement. That was so apparent yesterday. Our players put a real shift in and also had a bit of luck and we kept a clean sheet. That is the important fact. The clean sheet. Too many times this season we have given away sloppy goals or free kicks that have lead to sloppy goals through zonal marking. Clean sheets give a team something to build on. Silva made real positive substitutions with 25 mins to go and we finished the stronger and now most fans are happy. With the previous hour we battled to stop them scoring and the rest is history. We need more of the first hour to allow us more games with the last half hour. It sounds so simple. because it is!

Liverpool fan. I'll be honest still licking my wounds from yesterday.

I thought you boys were excellent yesterday, you stopped us playing our game and really frustrated us. The boys in blue gave everything for 90 mins and you could of easily won it.

We have been on the right side of luck the last couple of occasions and yesterday it ran out.

I'm praying this isn't the nail in the coffin but we will see.

Those lads set the benchmark for expectancy week in week out now.

Good luck for the rest of the season and ps don't gloat too much if city win it!

WYred, you have very good team that plays attractive football, if you win the title then you deserve it and I will be one of the first to congratulate you. If Everton can't win the league then in I hope Liverpool do, let's keep in Mersyside.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Dont post much these days but read every day. Personally, i don't celebrate Liverpools wins or losses. its what prevents me being a bitter blue. whether Liverpool win league or not is irrelevant to me. i just try and njoy everton and footy in general and ignore the tools that try and wind me up. That said; i think yesterday, what we lacked in quality we made up for with passion and grit. looking at players like Schniederlin and Walcott (who generally lack guille imo) putting in a shift was great to see. I think our boys did stifle your play, but i think it was a nervous liverpool team selection. If firmino is on bench, he's fit. so he should start? Also shaqhiri not being used baffled (but pleased) me. Imo if reds are going to win league they need to take bigger risks. which they can afford given that Colossus they have at the back.

Once Marco gets his own Team together and he does need more Windows to get it right, Marcel will have already identified players he would like to bring to Everton, exciting times ahead for us Blues.

Dark clouds is clearly a troll or David moyes.
His constant criticism of silva is nothing but laughable now.
There are improvements to be made to the team and I feel he is the right one to take us forward with the support of brands.
Next season we should judge him, not this one when he inherited a shocking squad and has not yet been able to mould it into his own team.

DC is most likely a troll or a red. It is not just Silva but Moshiri, Kenwright and most if not all of the players he hates.
Anyone who hates everything about our club that much must be a troll or opposition supporter on the wind up.

Rubbish Smit I love Kenwright and allways defend him here, you do not read my posts properly.
The abuse I get here is sad and pathetic as I know that many many blues agree with me.
I watched the blues first in 1964 with my dad. In my younger days gone all over the country with them but I allways try to be objective about the team I love. I do not however wear blue tinted specs and when the things are right at my club my praise will be the greatest.
Sadly since Moyes left there has ben little to praise and lots to criticise.
You lot criticise him, well there where tears everywhere in the ground the day he left. Yes he was not perfect but overall was magnificent.
People criticise Kenwright, that is discusting what he did for this club. Yes he made a lot of mistakes but he is a true blue and saved us years ago. It seems to me his crime to most is not being a multi billionaire.
Moshiri brings hope because he has money and we all hope delivers the ground but on the football side he has not done well and he has admitted this. Hopefully he will learn and be a great owner but not at present. You all love him because he has money as far as I can see.

We do have a good team somewhere in there GB yesterday showed that, let's get to summer let Marcel work some magic. Still think we can't keep starting with Walcott and Digne still my player of the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont get the walcott shout myself lee he has been poor week in week out yet still gets picked, but i do see some progress recently from the team mate..

04 Mar 2019 10:16:02
Agree Lee mate, what a match yesterday, on our day we are as good any Team, just drop Theo for a while a couple of new players in the summer window and we will be flying, so many positives after yesterday.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2019 11:01:04
Great performance from the fans, we where magnificent. We inspired the team to give the best they could, a true underdogs performance, hope it stops the reds winning the league.
All my friends and people around me still agree Silva has to go, one fighting display does not make a season, we will probably lose next week. Ok if we have a really good run in maybe change a few minds but it will not happen I am sure.
When I read Guernsey's comment that a couple of new players will sort it out what planet is he on. If you picked a Merseyside 14 players there is only one possibly two players who would get in there, Pickford and Gaye. That is pathetic. Even with the right manager we are still years behind the top tams.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we are behind the top teams DC your right, but will changing the manager every 5 minutes change that?, we need stability and a base to build on mate, now that may not be silva but i would give him some more time myself as rome was not built in a day...maybe if you had been on the job it might have though.. :)

04 Mar 2019 12:20:52
I think it’s just too soon to say if he’s the right person for the job or not. You can’t on one hand say he isn’t then state that the players are way off top team standards. If the players aren’t good enough then you can’t say for certain that he isn’t either.

I think he needs time and a few windows with MBs help and experience.

As grumpy as DC is, it’s still opinion that can be agreed with or not.

Ed25, your spot on, we can’t make quick short sighted decisions on managers. After all, if we did that then there would be 2 titles and a few cups missing from our trophy cabinet. The late great Kendall didn’t have the most convincing starts did he.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2019 16:04:36
My opinion is our squad is good enough for 7th the teams around us have players I would put straight into our first team so we are where we are that’s not saying we shouldn’t be doing better but we have not got enough quality to get top 6, players that were brought in had not played much football and some never had pre season so I think next season we will see more from them.
I know we need a striker but yesterday’s stat was a shocker it’s the first season in 16 years where we have had 2 players into double figures not bad when there not strikers but I would keep playing DCL Up front he will give his all and boy needs to play games to get better but he can make no 9 is own if he wants it.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2019 06:18:28
I think all blues can hold their head high today. And I just don’t mean from the far improved performance of the players, but from the performance of the fans. We were fantastic yesterday, and I haven’t heard the old lady sing like that for a long time. Goodison was made an intimidating place for opponents yesterday and long may it continue. Up the blues.

{Ed025's Note - it was bretto and i thought we gave them a good game, we really put the effort in and it made a massive difference mate and the crowd appreciated that..

Ye agree ed 25 but with crowd being with them it also gives them that extra push thought morga played well for amount stick we have all given him.

{Ed025's Note - he still gave the ball away too often for me bretto but he done ok considering the time he has been out..

03 Mar 2019 22:46:10
WOW. most on here are happy with a hard fought nil nil draw at home against a faltering team. how your (our) standards and expectations have dropped.
Silva is NOT the man to lead us and every time he selects Walcott he should be fined a month's wages and force fed sausage rolls!

There IS a team within our squad however Silva will not stumble upon it.

DCL was a stand out performance and deserves the plaudits.

Is it May yet?
