Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

04 Jun 2015 21:34:15
And why all the fuss re Tom Cleverley? A quick look at Squawka for the latest form tells a lot. Now our midfield did not have a great season but McCarthy scored 543. Tom comes in at 355. Meaning he got to up the pace by 50% to be with our guys. Why can't we sign a 800 form midfielder?

What has squaka got to do with anything?.

Lads most on here don't want Cleverley but when he is a blue we have to support him that's Everton that's how we roll he is signing so suck it up new season new beginnings remember the league starts at nil nil.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i know stef..but that fraud is breaking my heart mate, if cleverley is indicative of the signings we are likely to get...then god help us..

05 Jun 2015 04:41:59
He seems to sign plAyers for the sake of it, he was interested in McGeady in his Wigan days he may have omproved them at the time but not us, one thing moyes done well was improve the squad player by player he just wants a shed load of average players that will never make us better.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2015 14:31:51
Don't agree that moyes was better in the transfer market per kroldrop, Andy van de Meyde Diniyar, Bilyaletdinov and james beattie we terrible, although he had some good ones too Tim Cahill, Jags, Coleman, Arteta and Baines the point is there will always be good and bad signing not every good player fits into a new team and sometimes a player that has struggled will find a new lease of life at a new club so I will back any signings RM make hopefully they won't turn out like the aforementioned kroldrup, van de meyde et al.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2015 15:50:31
Don't underestimate Tom Cleverley he is a good player in the right side he won't set the game alight but it's a good piece of business without any transfer fee he will surprise a lot of fans said the same about James Mac when all fans were saying he is no good

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2015 17:16:18
Moyes was with us 10 years so there's bound to be a few bad ones, not to mentioned it was on a shoe string, RM can match them names already in two seasons, he's doing my head in seriously needs to be more creative than Tom cleverly, he will surprise no one he's not up and coming he's an established average player like mcgeady, Kone and alcacrap

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2015 22:37:12
I think Martinez gets more exciting players (Deulofeu, Lukaku and Lennon etc) but Moyes was more the typical boring journeymen a la Jelavic, Neville etc. Moyes also messed up whenever he had money, Yakubu, Beattie, Bilyaletdinov and Fellaini (the 2nd time). If we had 20m to spend I would trust Martinez with it over Moyes.

Good analysis on the back of signing clevs, moves also got Coleman, stones, Baines, gravesan, mirrallas, jags, Cahill , see I can back up me point by selectively naming players also, Lennon and delefou ha vent signed either

Not impressed in the slightest with the Cleverly signing but have you seen his missus? Holy moly, if a beaut like him can pull a girl like that there's hope for me yet.

With Cleverly signing a 5 year deal, I'm just waiting for the next ' ' that Alcaraz has signed a new deal.

Give Alcaraz a new deal and stick him in midfield over cleverley please martinez.

Cleverley's "free" transfer = 260 weeks, at £50000, per week = £13000000, thirteen million pounds. Now, they defenders of Biil Kenwright, are always are keen to tell all those who will listern, how he is the model of prudance and stability. If there was ever a more fool hardy waste of £13 mill, I have yet to see it.

Plus the loss of TV money when we get relegated for having cleverley. Yep. We will be dead as a club soon.

You can't pick a manager and then tell him who to buy. It doesn't work. You end up with the kind of turmoil that only the mega rich clubs can afford. Did he pick the right manager? Well not for me, I'd like to see Martinez gone but judging by other sites there are a lot of others that want him to stay. Cleverly would be a disappointing signing but you're using this as an excuse to Bill-bash. If he interfered in transfers you'd bash him too.

Just a question.

Could the Echo Arena ever be developed into a stadium to fit our needs?

Or is that too optimistic?

So glad we're signing Cleverley, yet another astute decision by Martinez. I can't believe this guy, just when I think that surely one man cannot be this gifted, he pulls off another bit of magic. He's exactly the sort of player we need to take us to the next level. The prospect of having him in our midfield next season, watching him pulling the strings and running games is unbelievably exciting. Surely now we must be favourites for one of the champions league places. Pure genius Roberto.

well, i'm savouring every minute of a celeverley-free everton. been wanting to do this for a while. I don't get these arguments.

'he played for man utd'-well done, you know how to read wpedia. anderson, bebe, chadwick and wes brown also played for man utd. they are garbage.

'he has won trophies'- so has tim howard and phil neville. he has won more than alan shearer and matt le tissier. if either of them in their prime was offered would you say 'nah mate i'd prefer tom'?. in fact, we could have them both now and they are still better than cleverley.

'he has potential'- no, no he does not. david bentley never lived up to his hype, should we sign him up 'in case' he becomes good? (believe me it will take a magic miracle for cleverley to even become bad, never mind as bad as he already is).

'he is free'- yeah, that's a legit reason to want him.

he is the worst footballer I have ever seen, never have I seen anyone so talentless. he is like the kardashians of the footballing world. except cleverley didn't get famous for licking some mans lollipop (OR DID HE?). I don't get what he does, I have asked this question on twitter, grandoldteam and here and not one person has ever told me what he does. darkest times ahead people.

I can't think of anything Swan. I don't see how he is going to improve the squad we already have. Wouldn't Ledson be a better choice and give him a chance this season?

We now have:
McCarthy
Barry
Osman
Barkley
Besic
Gibson
Cleverly
Naismith
Ledson (potentially)

9 players trying to fit into just a few places. How do you make that work?

04 Jun 2015 11:28:24
Looks like the papers have started the panic about who we are buying Cleverly, Evans, Taylor to name just a few. Gents its just paper talk I would be very surprised if we get any of them. Even if we do what's the point in worrying don't forget no matter who we have they will play the RM way so personnel is irrelevant.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Jun 2015 12:37:05
Playing the Martinez way is spot on. I love this Club and fear that RM's unfounded belief in his messiah like qualities as a coach mean we are doomed to remain in the bottom half (if not fighting relegation season on season the Wigan way) come what may. I do so hope I am wrong and stand readily to eat my words.

Agree3 Disagree1

04 Jun 2015 13:27:59
Cleverly looks like it's going to happen. Now football is about opinions, which is a relief judging by some of the posts I've just been reading about this guy.

I don't care if he didn't make it at United. I don't care if people think he'll send us down. I doubt very much if many of us have seen him regularly over 90 mins. Because I've only seen highlights in which even a class Benteke looked poo. But when the manager changed, hey presto Cleverly did too. When that team was looking relegation in the face he popped up with some impressive performances, scoring goals that kept them up rather than send them down.

I was one that criticised the Gibbo signing which I regret as much as I bemoan his wretched injuries. Because he is class. Most of us changed our tune the minute he scored the winner against City.

Egg on my face then. Won't make that mistake twice.

So I'm giving him a chance. After all I remember the day when HK was berated for signing the Legend that is Peter Reid.

well I for one will be pleasantly surprised!

Here's the thing though Reid had mojo and spread it about the dressing room.

Does look likely that cleverly will sign, I hope that everyone gets behind him, to me he seems a bit like Osman and could be a good replacement for him, I share the feeling of many blues that he's not the best signing but I for one will get behind him and any other player that is brought in this summer, at worst we won't be surprised by him. I also feel a new CB, ST and creative mid are imperative ifvwe are to compete in the top half again. I know Howard is wanted out by a lot of fans but he is our only player who brings in substantial merchandise from sales with the whole of America worshipping him and although we do need a new GK I don't feel like selling him would be the best thing to do in terms of the financial side of our club and also why I believe he won't be sold, neither will Barkley unless we get a ridiculous offer, I think garbutt will go but that's on him. Lukaku I think will stay but if not then we will get upwards of 30million for him and I'd like to think that bobby has people in mind if he does leave, maybe someone like bacca would be very nice! People seem to get very frustrated during these times because we've been linked with Johnny Evans and other such players and get angry with the board, everyone just needs to relax and let bobby do his thing, see where we are at the end of the window and judge the team after 10 games. Finally if I were you, before saying how much you don't want cleverly here for the next 5 years take a look at his bird!

While I cannot express an opinion not having seen Tom Cleverly play, but we have a guy at the prime of his career (age 25), with top level experience, and perhaps a great deal of potential.

Perhaps he is one of the missing pieces in RM's game plan. It does sound like a few injuries have derailed his career in Manchester.

Solid player, on a free (yeah I know except for wages). He wants to be a Blue. He wants to play for Everton. Bring him aboard. At worst, a bench warmer, at best a fantastic link (and a bargain) between the backline and Romelu "gimme the dang ball" Lukaku.

Welcome aboard, Tom.
