Gomes being offered at £22 million apparently.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not the case. Barcelona have said that the player wants to move clubs and they will listen to offers for a summer move. Nothing about money.}

04 Jan 2019 22:53:40
Sorry Ed that’s not what I read mate they said in the report they have to offload players to fund New I coming in and £22 mill was the price.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - you know better than to question Ed’s 002 about money fella. Are you really gonna take the word of some internet/newspaper journalist over Ed’s 002?

04 Jan 2019 22:55:01
Hey Ed it’s in The Daily Mail mate.

GB, have you been on the sauce mate? I'm with Ed0333, arguing with Ed002 never ends well lol. Seriously, I read that article myself mate and as much as it'd be nice to be genuine let's just wait and see what happens.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - the same paper said Neymar was being sold for 2 million.

05 Jan 2019 06:31:03
Thanks to the Ed’s I will listen to them in the future cheers for the correct info, should have known better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - usually, as a rule of thumb, any story that mentions an amount of money is utter bullex (as my friend spells it). Journalists are just not privy to that kind of information and it usually is not entirely clear what the actual money is until the documentation is lodged with the TMS.}

05 Jan 2019 03:21:49
It's the same every day Ed and even more so during the Transfer Window. Players names get picked out of the air and stories made up about them. Sure, sometimes there may be a fragment of truth in what they write, but it's mostly BS to fill their column inches.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - exactly mate.

Hmmmm always called em rags, can see why thanks to all for opening my eyes.

Look at how much Mina cost (apparently) and then way that against the pure guesswork figure for Suarez and now Gomez. We have a sensible DoF in Brands (at last) , contacts mean everything in this business, so hopefully no sillyness.

Solanke 19 mill to bournemouth. Good player, worth £19 mill! Think DCL just as good personally. Priority a RW if one can be found in Jan. Balanced flanks, DCL, Tosun getting fed, no chopping and changing, we stand a good chance of top 10, higher I think Teams would have to fade above us.

I'm of the opinion that Tosun doesn't seem to be fancied by Silva. Granted Tosun hasn't exactly shone in his time here but I think he's a decent striker. He hasn't always had the service would be what the main problem is. As much as I like DCL, for me he doesn't score anywhere near enough goals. But he has time on his side to adapt his game.

I definitely agree that a RW/ RMF is needed. Walcott is simply not good enough on current form and seems to go missing in games. His decision making at times leaves a lot to be desired and he loses possession too much for me.

19 million has definitely had a bit of Liverpool tax added. Niasse must be worth 25 mill at those prices.

Not sure he's even scored a goal yet has he?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - the grand sum of 1 premier league goal for Liverpool and he’s been sold for £19 million. Maybe we can sell markovic and Lallana to them as well?

04 Jan 2019 19:06:13
I'd be happy if we got the £7 million being banded about mate.

Review Of The Day 4th January 2019

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 4th January 2019

New manager, new coaching staff, new DOF, half a new 1st team and a completely different style of football to come to terms with.
With all that in mind, where does everyone actually think we should be in the league?
This project needs time. We are 4 points of 7th half way through.

Silvas high pressing fast paced style is always going to wear his squads out quickly, this was evident at Hull and Watford. He needs a squad full of quality to play his style of football and until he gets it, we are always going to see peaks and troughs in results.

Are some people on here expecting us to be 6th? Higher?
I could understand the negativity if we were 13th and 9 points off the 7th place we expect but were not.
Silva needs 2 seasons minimum to have any chance of progressing us into 6/ 7th.

{Ed025's Note - i agree smit mate..

I would say anywhere finishing 7th- 12th is realistic for this season. The higher in that second bracket in the league we finish, it will show a little bit more progress. Silva needs time and transfer windows. Fans slagging him and the team for inconsistency or ability is in my opinion a little nieve, silva can only work with what’s in front of him. Wait till it’s his squad then he will be far more accountable. Going back to your question is say 8th would be good for this season.

I would like to see us bring1/ 2 in jan and then bring in another 4 (ish) in the summer, offload who silva doesn’t want and really kick on next season.

Hopefully all the doom/ instant success merchants will be happy when we win every game without ever conceding, always scoring at leat 3! Or we could just bring big Sam back (apparently he had us in a better position)

Difficult to call with all the changes taking place, but anywhere from 7th - 10th would be a good result.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 11:17:05
As with Most 7th-10th would be good higher a bonus and as long as we are not relegated then although not great it wouldn't be the end of the world. Re-asses at the end of his second season in which I expect to see a big push for the top 6.

I agree with Smit666
We are what we are and the squad is a long way off the top 4 but the owner has put everything in place to make Everton a force to be recognised,
Sad people are call for the managers head or like well I didn’t want him in the first place! Makes me sometimes think they are living in a dream world, the owner has invested heavily into Everton Silva and Brands, we are not of the level of the top 4 that was more than evident watching Liverpool and City play last night but that’s not anyone’s fault especially the Manger who is working with the squad purchased by Koeman and Allardyce, we are playing much better football under Marco, Being an armchair Manager or armchair footballer is the easiest thing in the World, Marco is EVerton through and through that’s easy for all to see.

Top half of the table for me. Progress would be more points than last season. Take last seasons turmoil into account and anything less when we clearly have better players would be met with a big fat “I told you so” from Sam Alardyce which would be very annoying. So simply for me, more points than last season.

Needs more time, Job in progress have faith it will all come good . Sorry but if it was somebody else who is don't know but silver was the wrong choice. FM needs to be given better advice if he wants to move the club forward, he needs someone to lead him because it don't think he knows what he is doing when it comes to appointing managers.

i don't know what's going to happen with this club over the next 6 months or so but it needs a leader somewhere at this club or we are going nowhere for the foreseeable future . i will come back on this site when i have been proven wrong until then I'm going into hiding.

Martinez, wrong choice get rid, Koeman wrong choice get rid, Unsworth not up to the task get rid, big Sam too boring not up to the task get rid, Silva wrong choice get rid, 6 months down the line new man get rid, 12 months even newer man no good get rid.

Somewhere along the line we need to be a bit more patient.

It is getting embarrassing the amount of managers we are going through.

It is about time we gave a manager a few windows to bring in their own team of players and take it from there.

Just out of interest, who would you bring in to replace Silva.

Agree4 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 08:40:58
Benitez, but I think it would be difficult. The problem I believe (and the reason we gave Alardyce an 18 month contract and why Silva could wait) , is that after Koeman most so-called top Managers would not touch us. There are many good Managers in the Prem with far more experience than Silva and I believe better credentials. As to Silvas style wearing out players, so we need a deeper quality. You cannot expect to keep throwing money at it. It needs better management right across the whole club from player facilities to players themselves. We are where we are, however, hopefully our existing Manager is going to come good.

Getting a little fed up of the naysayers and people ready to throw Silva under the bus after a few bad results. What is it? Cos he doesn't jump round like klopp or pep? Being a football manager is his job. We all make mistakes in our jobs from time to time. He is the manager now and it was not our decision to make nor is it our decision to remove him.

If he decides to jump ship as he has in the past then we need a succession plan. But for now we all need to get behind the players so they can perform for the rest of the season. We are blues, born not manufactured and we will be regardless of owners, managers or players. We support the club and should Always Do so, for good or bad.
