RE, On a separate matter, I've been watching the situation with the Portsmouth landlady who's gone to the European court to fight Sky over showing live matches in her pub via a Greek broadcaster. This could be very interesting & potentially devastating for the EPL. If she wins this case & tens of thousands of fans cancel their Sky subscriptions & follow her lead do you think that Murdoch will keep pumping millions into the EPL? Me neither!
This could be the straw that breaks the camel's back for many clubs, (especially those with overpriced, overpaid players who'll just head off to La Liga or Serie A).

Errm no it wont, it just means the bigger clubs will get bigger as they will be free to sell their own tv rights, be careful what youwish for!

Cheers Ed; No. don't get me wrong he was a great player for us, but we have Cahill back for Saturday and we have lost players before and coped, we will do it again. I don't want to be to pedantic but Peinaar was sold over two weeks ago, so I was quite safe in what I said. We have not been playing that badly, we just need a result to kick start us again and we need to keep the faith. {ed's note - I find that strange thinking, clearly the loss of a player of that quality without any replacement arriving has to be weakening the squad. I don't believe the admin talk, but there has to be a reason that you only signed one cheap youngster for a team struggling near the foot of the table. It has to be worrying doesn't it?}

We have a good squad which is a mixture of youth and experiance. Taking one player out is not going to make a great deal of difference to us. Peinaar is a very good player but he rarely got on the score sheet. We have Bily, Osman, Cahill and possibly Beckford that can play in that position and they do come up with the odd goal. So to be honest I'm not that worried, we will find a way.

The talk about adminstration seems to be fuelled because we did not bring anyone in the transfer window. However, you only have to look at the pure desparation and panic over the park at Anfield, that would pay well over the odds just to get Carroll. Have they spent money. NO! The combined fee for Torres and Babel is what they paid out for Carroll and Saurez. Are they a stronger team now than last week; NO!. Are we any weaker now than last week; NO! I wouldn't have minded getting Adam, but who else was available in the window. We did right because when others around us panic, we didn't. The investment of Carroll for £35M is a weight around there necks and is he better or even on a par with Torres; No!.
There is no need to panic and we are not going into administration in any shape or form. {ed's note - so you don't think the loss of one of your best players has weakened you?}

Great post tez the portsmouth landlady's case has been going on for nearly five years and this could be the watershed.as for everton i started to worry when we couldn't give piennar more money and what with some of the loans that were on offer that we didn't try to make sturridge at least to our team.as for all the reds postin on here do you really want everton to go bust or to go down?do you think it will be good for this city?the kings dock would and should have been the greatest stadium for both teams all my red mates and familly both agree.andy69
