I fancy us against anyone at the moment.
I'll go for our 4th 2-0 win on the bounce against norwich. Pienaar and Jellyfish {Ed025's Note - i will make my prediction when i see the side we put out....i think he may rest a few..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think 2-0 too with jelavic getting them both COYB. AntEFC

Agree0 Disagree0

We must keep the good run going and stay above the reds. We are getting loads of really good partnerships in the team like baines and pineaar on the left, cahill and jelavic up front and gibson and fellaini in the middle, we have the makings of a cracking side ed

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i agree totally bez...but moyes has made his feelings very clear, he wants the cup!..he proved that by the side he put out in the derby mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Team to start at Norwich
T.Howard
T,Hibbert
L.Baines
S.Distin
J.Heitinga
D.Gibson
M.Gueye
L.Osman
S.Pienaar
T.Cahill
J.Jelavic

Subs
M.Hahnemann
P.Neville
P.Jagielka
M.Fellaini
R.Drenthe
V.Anichebi
D.Stracqualursi

Dont think we will see Fellaini on less we need him, if we are behind maybe as 2 more yellows in the next two games and he gets banned so if he gets clear here he will play against Sunderland and barring a red card can not be banned for the semi final.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will play a strong side against Norwich and then the home game against Sunderland he will probably rest Neville, Distin, Fellaini, Cahill and Jelavic.

Vs Norwich
Howard
Neville Heitinga Distin Baines

Osman Gibson Fellaini Pienaar

Cahill
Jelavic

Vs Sunderland
Howard
Hibbert Jagileka Heitinga Baines

Coleman Rodwell Osman Pienaar

Anichebe Straqualersui

Coleman and Rodwell are back in training so i can see him giving them both a start on monday.

Hope to god Liverpool don't get there usual rub of the green, i though after the Fulham game in the 4th round this could be our year!!

I fear Neville will almost definitely play! {Ed025's Note - i dont fear that at all!...in the quarters, he was man of the match for me, ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville seems to be good at containing fast players like Bale. It will be a disaster if hibbo starts. This is what I'd like to see and what I think we'll see:

Howard
Neville Heitinga Distin Baines
Gibson Fellaini
Drenthe Osman
Cahill
Jelavic {Ed025's Note - thats the side for me mate!...if drenthe is AWOL then gueye should come in..

Agree0 Disagree0

Should play the same team that started in the 6th round replay.

I think the player that made the biggest difference for us this season was Donovan, he brought an optimism to the side when we were at our lowest ebb and was instrumental in the kick start of our season. Nice one Landon... {Ed025's Note - he was great for us mate..what a professional! all the guys who came in have given us a lift though...look at gibbo and peanuts, and not forgetting the jellyfish!...its a great time to be a blue..

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to have Landon and Pienaar at the club full time, on either flank with creativity and a bit of cleverness on the ball they would rip teams apart and provide chances for Jelavic {Ed025's Note - that would be great.. it would have top 4 written all over it..

Hello Fellow Toffees,
Have been reading all the comments on here over the last few days. It seems that most people are v confident of beating the RS in the semi and I have to say so am I, however I can't help but feel a little nervous when I read comments like ''gonna be easy'' or ''4-0 to us'' etc.
While it's great that people are so confident and it really shows just how far we have come over the last 3 months when some people were talking bout our imminent demise and relegation... It still makes me nervous. If we look at our semi-final history with DM it P2 W1 L1.... So 50-50 then and thats how I see this game really. I know we are the form team and in my opinion we have a far better squad apart from SG I honestly would not take anyone from their whole squad over who we have but as some people said its a derby and they are wounded so all form goes out the window really.
I just pray to God that we get the rub of the green on the day. Lastly, reading everyones comments about buying tickets makes me really jealous! I live in Italy and unfortunately I won't be making the game but I just wanted to wish everyone a great day and to say I will be here screaming the f@ckin house down!! Have fun guys and MAKE SOME f***IN NOISE!!! COYB!!

A team i'd love to see next season IF we had money through either investment or maybe selling a couple of player's.

Howard
Naughton Jagileka Heitinga Baines

Donovan Fellaini Gibson Pienaar

Jelavic Defoe

Believable5 Unbelievable2

That team would frighten the life out of most teams two attacking fuill back who can also defend really well and are rarely beat by a winger. Two solid centre halfs with international class.
Creativity and a touch of class on the wings with Donovan and Pienaar, with Gibson controlling things and Fellaini putting himself about in both boxes and finally two genuine goalscorers upfront in Defoe and Jelavic.
Would love that side!! Imagine if Moyes was giving just 20-25 million not the hundreds other managers get he could make this side a possibilty!!

we'll play right here on this bed,
And then we'll bet for the biggest stakes yet the spoils of the cup
the Devil said to the son of God,

Eds and fellow blues.

There are a number of posts on here regarding the merits of this or that player.

Someone even suggested that Jags was 3rd choice at CB!

The reallity of it is we have strength in depth and good solid base of quality players throughout the team. Let me expand on that Tony Hibbert for example is a quality right back, not many get past him and he rarely fouls when making
a tackle. He also puts in decent crosses, what he isn't in his locker is the ability to dribble past several players but that doesn't mean he isn't good and solid at what he does and that can be said for most of the squad, very good at what they do in their correct positions. Their are very few footballers that you can play anywhere on the pitch
and they will look as though they play there all the time, infact there is only Rooney that I believe could fullfill that description in the EPL.

So when we dicuss Rodwell who is reportedly a centre half who plays in centre mid and we complain that he only passes the ball sideways or backwards do we need to consider that he is out of position and not necessarily playing to his strengths.
Conversely in a post further down we applaud Gibson for his solid performance and neat sideways passes!?! Fans favourites Joe Parkinson and LEE Carsley were similar solid short sensible passing and occasional flurries into the opposition and the odd screamer into the net. That sounds a bit like Rodwell (in my opinion)

There are many of us myself included that conclude our emails with "IMWT", because there is the man who sees the players everyday, who studies the oppositions strengths and weaknesses and who is best to play against who and when to play them

He has also brought the youngsters and the fringe players on when they are ready, Magss is further along that route than others and when they are ready for the rigours of the EPL they will get their chance it's up to them to take it and show they are an Everton EPL player 24/7 not just the 90 minutes every saturday.

So IMIT that's why I do what I do and he's the Everton Manager. The key word in it is trust he trusts the squad he picks to do a job, if they don't they get pulled and subbed or dropped. and likewise we must trust him to do it right for Everton.

I wonder why some players are picked and others not on the bench and I have
favourites but whoever is out there it's the team I support and get behind them.

Anyway I hope all that makes sense it twists and turns a bit and occasionally jumps
thread but I think it expresses my views and opinions.

Looking at next season I really do hope we can stop this habit of poor starts and get some momentum going earlier than normal.

Looking at the squad we have a really good team, a top 5 team if only we could perform for most of it.

Not only would we do well in the league but we would have a better chance in the league cup which comes to a climax as we hit our best form. The problem is we get nocked out too soon because we are usually shocking at the early stages.

We need to start well, then and only then are we able to judge the strength of the squad, which I am sure can challenge the best over 38 games.

Here's hoping for a great start next season COYB

Toffee ace

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think the secret is the summer, we need to have a positive summer, that means not selling our best players, or if so, do it before the season, and the key, to bring in some new faces, we can all see what the trio that came in January did for us, we went for a poor season, to reaching a semi in the cup and overtaking Liverpool for 7th.

Apparently.... Barkley isn't getting played because since he got a big money contract, he has become a big man and has been splashing the cash and Moyes has been trying to crack down on him....

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I seem to remember he (DM) tried to do the same with Wayne Rooney and the rest as they say is history. I would point out that Barkley could not lace Rooneys boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

That will happen with most young players like this really, if you was an 18 year old and you had a sh*t load of cash and where getting told you will be one of the best players in the world what would you do?
and to the guy with the first comment; midfielders take a lot longer to mature than strikers, so to be comparing them two now in my eyes says allot!

What realistic footballer would everyone like everton to sign in the summer? AntEFC {Ed025's Note - tiote of newcastle..or sessegnon of sunderland for me..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are they out of contract because we wouldn't be able to afford them? AntEFC {Ed025's Note - no mate..im just a big fan of both of them..

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a fan of them too and I've noticed that Tristan is finally back.. AntEFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I have said for a while dembelle from fulham is class! most underrated player in the EPL at the moment definitely

Agree0 Disagree0

Weren't we link to Sessegnon when he was at PSG quite a few times? Same, only cost 4mil, and someone we definitely lack in our squad. But out of our price range now.

Realstically, I too, am a big fan of Dembele from Fulham, if I remember correctly, his contract ends at the end of next season, so maybe we could get him a bit cheaper. Maybe have Fellaini give him a quite word. Also, wouldn't mind seeing Stuart Holden from Bolton, think he has been missed greatly by Bolton this season, potentially they may get relegated, couple that with the fact he missed this season with injury, could really get him for cheap, and he does have a bit of banter with Phil Neville on twitter, and is American.

Would be happy to see Dembele and Holden at Everton and maybe add Rodallega on a free. Definitely take that {Ed025's Note - me too mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Realistically apart from Pienaar....... I'd go for Defoe!! Sessognon, Dembele and Tiote aren't realistic they would be way out of our price range!!!
Defoe on the other hand, although he is 29 he would be available for i'd imagine 7-9 million?? He is a pure goalscorer like Jelavic and if Adebayor signs full time and Spurs sign another striker they are linked to Hazard plus a couple more i think Defoe will want to go {Ed001's Note - the problem with Defoe, as I keep having to point out on all the sites when he is suggested, is that he doesn't want to leave London. He hated being in Portsmouth as he likes being near his family. I very much doubt he will join Everton or any other side in the north west.}

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2012 23:53:58
Really is amazing the effect gibbo has had on our team. Doesn't steal the headlines like a Fellaini or Jelavic, but he just does his job and does it well, he can put his foot on the ball, pick a pass and just moves the ball for us side to side. I really do think we could see more from Gibson. No surprise in his 10 appearances for Everton, we haven't lost yet. To think he only cost 500K is amazing, think everyone knew at that price he was going to be bargain, but I didn't even think he would have had that big of an effect already. Really was a magnificent piece of business by Moyes once again.Ed025's Note - i agree mate...when he signed, i was one of his detractors, but i hold my hands up...i got it badly wrong..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I think they've brought winning mentality with them (howard, neville, gibson) because of what's been instilled into them by Sir Alex. I would happily take another fringe player from utd if we could get one but I can't think who out of their squad now he would move on that would be worth a punt? Evans maybe? but he's playing now isn't he? and playing well. Pogba?

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba thinks he is the best player ever and isn't that good so no thanks, I wouldn't mind park ji sung though, I've always rated him
