We did not play well against the rubbish, but we got a result, we did not play well in russia but got a result, and thats, the point, good teams are ones who can get a result, even on their off days, could live with a "poor" performance, but the right result on sunday.

I would agree but too many poor performances, palace poor performance an got beat. fact is so far we have not looked good at all. we have bee poor from the start and only won 2 from 8 or 9. so that contradicts your statment hope we pick up soon

Agree0 Disagree0

At least toffeeblue can see what i'm seeing, playing well and losing you can take playing awful and scrapping draws in the long run will be detrimental, we just don't seem to have that team spirit we have built up over the years

It is obvious to me that when Stones has played center back, we have conceded very few goals. When he has played right back or not played, we have conceded loads. The rule applies for every game this season. We must hold on to him whatever. He reminds me of a continental center back not an English one. He is so comfortable coming out of defence with the ball and his tackling and positional sense is so good for a youngster. He will be England captain for many years to come. If he stays injury free. I would bet my house on it.

Agree with u here degs he is class but we need to find him a young partner soon jags is a great defender but when we are trying to play our way out he is just not up for it stones is def first choice and will also very soon be first choice for England must hold onto him as I'm sure many clubs will want him

I see him more as a younger, but just as acomplished version of Gary Cahill. Chelsea's defense has been so good because they don't mess about with it at the back and let the defenders defend and the midfielders play the football, only when its safe to do so they let cahill then join in the passage of play. added to that having a natural defensive midfielder infront of the back 4 in Matic is testament to the team. We on the other hand try to get barry playing inbetween the two centre backs as soon as we have the ball, in the past this has worked because barry has done well, but this season he has faultered and this is where our downfall has materialised from. I agree that Stones needs to be our 1st choice centre back and distan and jags need rotating depending on which team and striker(s) we are playing against. I also believe it's brownings year to start playing particularly with coleman out, as good as hibbo is, an old fashioned full back who defends and stops crosses, he is woeful going forward and upsets the balance and strategy of the team. With this in mind Tyias needs to start games while coleman is out, the experience will do him the world of good and could bring him into contention for centre back for next year when I would presume Sly will retire.

some of these posts sound like spurs or arse fans not evertonians, we had a poor first half given, we survived and in the end threatened to win it, teams that can play badly and still pick up points can ultimately win things, RM is on a second season syndrome, he has bought well but we can see some areas still need strengthening namely defence. confidence seems to be lacking with some players but the likes of Stones, and the younger players is so positive, I though mcgeady was excellent last night but we didn't use him enough it will come good, look at the top 6 only really chelski look that strong the others are still sllipping here and there its a long way to go still.

Good post mate, the team last night was almost a second eleven, with many of our first team back I think we will improve we are top of our group can't ask more than that

Agree0 Disagree0

Blue, who was playing last night that doesn't play most weeks? That was no second 11 that's just how we are playing, awful

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to say that considering the team we had out, a draw there was a good result. To comment about who we were missing: Coleman, McCarthy, Mirallas, Pienaar, Barkley to name a few. That's half a team!

Well we were awful, no doubt about it, but either way i'd say atsu, gibson, hibbert, atsu and osman are not guaranteed starters, neither to a lesser extent are mcgeady or eto

Bit late with this post but can I just say Hibbo was fantastic yesterday! Considering he's only played 10 times in 2 years! - on another note has anybody seen anything good come from Atsu? Doesn't look like an everton player, doesn't play like an everton play and tbh he's awful at tracking back got nothing on Kev, Pienaar or Oviedo in my eyes, and as for McGeady he looks so much more suited to European football than he does premiership football, played well yesterday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree on all points considering Hibbo and to a lesser extent Gibbo haven't played for a while they were two of our better performers, although that would not be too hard on yesterdays performance. As for Atsu it looks like he is not the player we were hoping he would be. A point is a point so can't be too disappointed.

There is no doubting that last night was not vintage Everton but its not all doom and gloom. We all assumed that Wolfsburg and Lille would be the real threat in the group but two games in and results would suggest otherwise. You would have to think Wolfsburg are not the threat we thought they were and Lille haven't exactly set the group alight with two draws. Krasnodar hadn't conceded a home goal in any of their home matches in the Europa League until last night.(including a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad) It's also worth noting they haven't been beaten at home in the league either. I genuinely think that will be a great point that other teams in the group will struggle to get so let's try and have a bit less negativity eh boys. Results so far show we shouldn't have much to fear from what on paper was an extremely difficult group.

As poor as we played, not many teams in the group will get a result out there.
