That performance goes to show Silva IS the man to lead us to the next level the players love him, a couple of quality incomings in the summer and we will one tough cookie to crack, Doomslayers for once GOODNIGHT.

We did put a performance in Guernsey and I have posted well done to the lads but it still doesn't make Silva the right man don't get to excited we only got a draw at home and not sure about the players loving him šŸ˜€.

03 Mar 2019 21:56:53
The performance wasn't great but not the worst this season, Salah should have scored, I believe 0-0 draw was the best result we could have come away with today as we didn't create any clear cut chances. There was a lot of evidence of tactics not coming off and a lot of work still needed to be done on the training ground. I think the result is disguised more favourable because of the position it leaves Liverpool. The worrying thing, for me, is that it seems Silva still isn't sure what his strongest 11 is and the gameplan he is trying to deploy on the field.

skylark your everything that's wrong with our fans atm. keane had a blinder. zouma athough shakey at first cut out most attacks. 60 grand on the right played out his skin not to metion pickford making a cracking save i could go on. the rubbish are scoring for fun atm. your talking rubbish.

Lance just saying how it is . We put a good performance in and it was only a draw at home and not sure the players LOVE Silva . how is everything wrong with that? Maybe YOUR wrong for being happy with a draw.

04 Mar 2019 06:59:49
No your wrong Skylark, the team played and performed well, every player, that was a big win for us, Silva is and always has been the right man to take Everton forward.

Doomslayer here GB, one game doesn't make Silva the man. That was a good performance and having said the lad can't pass the ball, Richarlison suddenly became Siguurdson like in his precision, the other one (last two games) that looks good is Schneiderlin. Now Silva, if the side can now go on a run of consistency, he may well be on the way to showing us 'doomslayers' he can do the job. We will see, that does not detract from the fact however, that there was no evidence, reason of logic or indeed CV to support his appointment.

This must be the only Everton page that seems to like Silva, it is not logical it is totally unbelievable.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the thing is DC is that other sites like toffeeweb etc are made up of habitual moaners who think we should win every game, we are realists and yes we want better but so does every other team mate..

04 Mar 2019 12:00:41
Sat near the lad, he just told Klopp about the World Cup and other stuff, priceless indeed. To be fair to Klopp, he took it well. Interviews afterwards, what kind of interviewers are these blokes, asked Klopp, 'you went over to your fans at the end tapping your chest, what's all that about', ridiculous comment. Be chuffed if Silva showed a bit of that passion, maybe would get more of the supporters onside and get consistency out of the side.

I would just like to congratulate all the boys for getting the result in the World Cup final today.

Lol but in all seriousness that was a brilliant performance all round. We showed some steel and determination to battle and fight and I'm proud of the lads performance today.

We could've easily nicked it towards the ends but a draw for us is as good as a defeat for them. c'mon city! Don't let us down lol.

The Dark Clouds were not over the Old Lady today. This could kick start the final push for Europe. Like it or not Liverpool have a great team. To have held them and not conceded must have put huge confidence in the squad. I can walk in the office tomorrow head held high and look my kopite boss in the eyes and smurk :-)

We played solidly today, closing down on the Red forwards. Bernard was close.

Great game to build on.

Not that I do so often, I peaked at the Red Banter page, it makes Blues at the worst look tame at our grumpiest. Youā€™d swear someone stole their puppies, ate all the Candy, and that they were just relegated.

Gee whiz.

04 Mar 2019 10:40:59
Your right about calmer Waro as it'll be 29 years and counting for the 'this is our year' brigade. You lot expect to just turn up and us to do you a favour and let you take 3 points, you my friend are the typical stereotypical deluded!

04 Mar 2019 12:29:01
Waro, mind you don't trip over that titty lip of yours mate! And you lot have the nerve to call us bitter, comical really. Did you expect us to lie down for your team so that you get one step closer to winning the league? Don't be daft lad.
Then the excuses come out, it was too windy! Couldn't stop laughing at that one. The bitterness oozed out of your club with players past and present proper fuming! Carra and DVD both commenting that the cheers at the end showed you who was the happiest with a draw. You rip us if we boo at the end of a bad performance and you try after a good shift, constantly change the goalposts you lot. Incidentally, us fans cheered for two reasons, the first being a better performance from our lot, the second as it put a dent in your title challenge. You lot would be the same, no doubting that. I do, however, remember a game when you drew with WBA 2 all at home and your players held hands and celebrated with your own fans. Yes, LFC celebrated a draw, do you remember? Hypercritical you reds. Have a nice day and wrap up well, that storm freya is a bit windy.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well said BP, i remember when we were on the verge of relegation and needed to beat wimbledon to stay up, reds fans carried a blue coffin down county road and called it banter, we stop them winning and going top and thats bitterness...double standards or what..

04 Mar 2019 14:57:49
Exactly ed25, they are the most two-faced supporters in the world, never mind the premier league! And they are actually genuinely shocked and hurt when opposing fans turn against them! Strange breed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - actually BP most of their fans are very fair but you do get the odd one as in all clubs mate..

04 Mar 2019 15:47:16
Not the ones that I work with ed! Honestly, they had won the league in December and haven't stopped giving any blues or mancs pelters. It's sad as, when we were both doing well in the 80's, if we didn't win the league or the cups then I wanted them to do it. Now I wouldn't want the majority of them to hook a duck and win a goldfish at the fair!
And you're right, I shouldn't generalise a few decent reds who follow them every where and don't give out grief. There's just not enough of them left now mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to say that i edit the liverpool page as well and most of them are really decent guys BP..

03 Mar 2019 20:09:01
It would be nice to see some of the posters who have criticised the manager and team over the last few weeks. Some criticism justified too but credit for the desire of both manager and players to beat Cardiff and put the performance in today. No issues with set pieces today either!

Great performance today and lots of positives. Forget the taking points off the RS and denting their title hopes.
Passion was there for all to see, Keane and Zouma looked solid, Digne will be our left back for years.
All of a sudden we have competition in midfield with Gueye, Schneiderlin, Gomes and Davies. McCarthy canā€™t get close. That game will do DCL a world of good it hopefully taught him a lot of how aggressive he needs to be. We all need to appreciate him and Richarlison are both young players who will have dips in form. I would love to see Lookman in place of Walcott ( Walcott must be world class in training) Bernard gives us different options and still think he can offer more in the future. All these young players will be so much better next season with the experience gained. We still need a more experienced Striker to take the pressure off the younger players. Sign Zouma and Gomes to keep the team together next year.
Marco Silva deserves a lot of credit how he has conducted himself over the last few weeks he hasnā€™t hidden and made some bold decisions bringing jags and Schneiderlin in. He has dropped Coleman at times too. Heā€™s not afraid to make these decisions against senior players. See above about Walcott though.
Itā€™s nice to have an optimistic look at where we are. Letā€™s get the confidence back and go on a run of wins and finish on a high.

Klopp blaming the wind and VvD saying because we celebrated a draw shows Liverpool should have won.
Well. The fact Vvd was man of the match tells it's own story.
In the last few weeks Klopp has balled the snow, grass and wind. Well I'll tell you something Klopp.
City can play whether it's snowing, windy and can also win on a cow field at Newport. And that is why they will win the league.

The last few performances show that this squad is fully behind this manager. Yes we need more quality and more quality in depth but, my feeling is, this squad run out of steam and the first derby probably accelerated that happening.
Given a bit of a rest and a freshen up of personnel has lifted this team back up to the work rate and belief they were at before Xmas.
Whatever people may say, this squad given a chance can definitely master zonal marking and compete against anyone.
Silva I feel can be the manager to end our hoodoo against these top teams given time.

Well done tonight lads just wish we could have started without Walcott . why can't we play like that every week.

Well the fans will expect that we do play like that every week now. And rightfully so. It was an almost perfect performance, just needed a goal.

Walcott is very frustrating. Thereā€™s just not enough quality there. Selling him in the summer is a priority.

No idea if Silva (and his coaching staff) use a Sports Psychologist but yes the rest has apparently done them good. The mention of a sports Psychologist is because I believe he or she could have accelerated the Squads recovery from that first game against Liverpool, that as most of us believe hit the Squad hard. Today's game, Digne immense, Keane best I have seen the lad, Walcot - no idea but as someone else mentioned he must be World Class in training. Lookman would have tied their left down, but the lad was not even in the match day squad. Finally Schneiderlin looks like the player we thought we were getting with his passing and positional play.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2019 21:48:20
It does appear DFS as though the squad was just burnt out. The derby defeat didn't help plus the gruelling fixture list shortly after.
If Marco can keep us playing like we are until the end of the season it will go some way to ending some fans fears that his teams always crash and never recover.
This is his longest spell at a club in the prem so we are in unchartered territory.

Interesting article in Guardian today ahead of derby in which the reds' Robertson talks about Silva's influence on him at Hull. Says Silva's time there was pivotal.

(Warning though, the rest of the article just about the reds)

I'd be interested in what people think of it. It's a new slant on this part of Silva's career which his critics tend to write off (on this site and elsewhere) as a failure.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2019 14:27:39
Yeah interesting. Plenty of players formerly managed by Silva have only good things to say about him. And most say he has improved them.

What has Hull being relegated got to do with the piece DC?
It's about a player managed by Silva saying he improved him, not running him.

That must really stick in your throat eh DC?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2019 15:34:32
DC has tunnel vision Smit. We could win 10-0 today and Silva will still be at fault for it not being 11-0. let's all pull together for one day for gods sake.

I think the most important things is that we compete throughout the 90 minutes to keep our confidence going for the remaking games to come, obviously a win or a draw would be a bonus. It's not going to easy for us today but fingers crossed we can get a result and a performance to be proud of.
