Only way I can see us accommodating for Cleverly is if we ship Gibson off. As much as I rate the guy, he's just too injury prone, really feel for him. Read somewhere that he's played 10 games over the last 2 seasons.

As for Cleverly, think I speak for most of us when I say he just doesn't cut it. Really hope I'm wrong but I can't see it, but at least we're not paying for him I suppose.

we are paying a world transfer fee in terms of how much this is going to cost the club in results and performances. I knew this day would come but i'm going to cry when I see him in an everton shirt. give me a a legless darron gibson over tom cleverley.

I would rather flamini than cleverly, in fact ad rather Alberto aquilani he is out ov contract and is better than tom effing cleverly

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would rather have sepp blatter in midfield than cleverley johny...at least sepp would be less of a hate figure mate..

Tom cleverly, 32 games 3 goals 0 assists, obviously a world class center midfielder reminds me ov pirlo, Christ there has to b better out there

While we are pulling out all the stops to land the superstar that is Tom Cleverly on a free another free agent is being linked with Stoke, yes Stoke! Konoplyanka. I know who I would rather have and I don't actually blame the likes of Lukaku spouting about champions league when we are not competing for actual decent free transfers that can add something to the team. In football you have to speculate to accumulate and the 11 on the field will inevitably shape your fortunes. Defence isn't to bad Howard aside but wide areas and up top are a concern as well as a creative midfielder so why oh why Cleverly?? Scrap the lennon deal if we are to spend £6 mill plus wages surely we can make a deal with Konoplyanka even if he does want a fair whack wage at the end of the day that is just how it is players are on top salaries and want to continue that if we don't show ambition in trying to get this type of player then its no wonder people want to leave.

{Ed025's Note - it beggars belief gray..

A little light relief, in fact almost merits a partey. Cleverly has hinted he may stay at VILLA, if true, boy are they wecome to him.

well has he said he wants to leave for champions league football or just that he wants champions league football because if its the latter then he hasn't said anything the rest of the squad, in fact the rest of the club should be saying there's nothing wrong with stating the desire to play at the top level we would all be complaining if he wasn't showing any desire to be the best he can be.
The journo's all like to twist things that are said in interviews because they are tools of the highest order but for some reason we seem to believe anything the say and our players (all players) are constantly having to defend themselves. we ask for our players to show loyalty to our great club but we as supporters seem to be in short supply of that loyalty to them so unless they come out and actually say they want to leave then shouldn't we be taking their side after all they fight for us on the pitch, most of the time.

Van percie u avin a laf he would only go 2 top 4 team & @ the mo were a million miles away.
Not only is he 2 good for us but us being the 2 bob club couldn't afford his wages even if united paid half.

Very sad if we lose Luke Garbutt to Swansea.Just goes to show that Martinez hasn't got a clue. The best crosser of a ball that we've had for years.Nevermind Baines. He was lost last year w/o Piennar in my opinion. He struggled to take corners.Everytime Garbutt made an appearance he put numerous crosses into the box, which is what you want!!

His man management, is almost as good as his tactical insight, Martinez has our best players queing to leave, and seems intent on bringing in crap like Cleverley, evens ect

Baines had the 4th best assists in the EPL last year. Hardly lost!Garbutt has played 10 games and got 1 assist against Young Boys.

He's got potential but he isn't this world class star people are making him out to be. To be honest defensively he looks poor and Galloway looks to be a better proposition due to his versatility.

Finally, it's not Martinez, it's Garbutt himself that is causing him to leave. He wants to be playing every week and I get that and understand why he wants to go. Maybe he's looking at the squad and thinking he may end up being 4th in the pecking order next season with Bryan, Baines and Galloway taking his chance.

baines takes every free kick and corner. is anyone suprised he has a few assists?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 14:32:34
To be fair to Baines he hasn't been taking every freekick, corner or penalty this season. Barkley, Mirallas and Lukaku have taken their fair share as well. Yet his assists haven't dropped.

Again though it does dispel this myth about Garbutt's contribution in the 10 game he's played as he did take most of these when he played.

Everton are very much in need of a proven goal scorer. How would Van Persie appeal to fans if the wages were right. I know he is getting on in years, has had his injuries etc. He obviously isn't first choice at Man U and is thinking of his future with one season left on his contract, and 2016 Euro coming up next year. He might just be worth asking about and fit Evertons budget (except possible wages prob).
what's the opinion of others.

Why don't we just call ourselves Man U reserves save all the transfer fees that way. Jesus I am sick of this Manc crap coming our way. Look if their not good enough for them, then there not good enough for us. And don't give me all that "look at what they one" balls. They just happened to be part of the squad. Like Rodwell saying he has a Premiership medal. What for sitting on your arse. Here's an original idea, let's go and find young fresh talent, and let's put a stop to us being someone's bloody pension plan. Grrrrr!

We mustn't worry too much about what the papers say. Every interview starts off innocent to real our players in and will be twisted to suit the reporters agenda in print.

Lukaku, Mirallas are easy targets due to translation which is why you'll here plenty of words from them in the rags. Remember that a lot of what you read will be old quotes.

And if there are no quotes just stories. Then treat it with the contempt it deserves.
