You have got to feel for Mourinho.

First it isn't fair because other clubs are out spending Man Utd who have only spent a few hundred million on players in recent years.

Then he has to put up with only having a couple top talents like Martial and Rashford as his striking options with Lukaku injured.

Now he feels unlucky because a few refereeing decisions have gone against Utd. I mean that doesn't happen to every club over the course of a few years right?

You have to say the turnaround under Big Sam looks bang average when you compare it to the job Mourinho is doing keeping Man Utd out of the relegation fight with the whole world against him! What a clown.

Lets take 5 mins off from arguing about Big Sam's tactics and be thankful we have a manager that acts like a mature adult and not like a stroppy spoilt little brat!

Please Mr Moshiri can you go and buy Zaha? The lad is quality and is the kind of player with the quality to win his team a game. If we have aspirations of breaking the top 6 this is the type of player we need to sign.

Good shout. He is kind of like Bolasie. It would be amazing having Bolasie and Zaha on the 2 wings with Vlasic and Lookman as options in those positions too. Some real pace and attacking threat there.

Hate to think how much he would cost though!

glennk, I have not noticed you on here before but it here now with some serious moaning mate come on we needed someone in to stop the rot, Sam came in has conceded 4 goals since he been here that's brilliant, everyone screaming for lookman and vlasic and the rest have no idea what's happening on the training pitch the pair of them might not be buying into our new set up? let's leave the manger to make the decisions.

and not am not happy with the performance yesterday but Sam has said he wants attacking players this window so let him get them then judge him he might want to play a better brand of football but in his opinion he doesn't have the personnel to do so yet, people red to give Sam a chance or would u rather sake him now for having the audacity to lose one match from his last 8/ 9 whatever it is c'mon ay lads and lasses let's back the team and all will be forgiven if we win next 2 1 nil.

That's the point people just moan for the sake of it, couple of months ago we were playing bad and getting beaten badly, we've now climbed the league but now people moaning on how we are playing, 7 games 1 defeat, not a bad return in such a short time, I personally couldn't careless how we play this season as long as we are safe, next season will be a different kettle of fish all together, but saying that I do expect an improvement on how we play by the end of the season. Everyone wants a bloody miracle over night, then it's move on to the next thing to moan about.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 15:05:32
No its nothing like sams GB. Our team is full of internationals who individualy are better in there respected positions than the players of newcastle. Our team is underperforming wereas they are just crap. Listen i'm made up for the job allardyce has done since he's come in, its plainly obvious to everyone to see he's steadied the ship, but your riding his weiner a little to much, you constantly go on about him like he's the lord savior whos just won us the treble and put anyone down who thinks that he's not the messiah. Your constantly on here moaning about people, putting them down as moaners for not liking sam because you do, but unfortunately its an opinions website and everyones opinion is different.

31 Dec 2017 15:48:32
Don't agree Bluetooth mate,7 games and no defeats, Big Sam has steadied the ship, and thank goodness for that too, you can't argue with the stats, the good football will come, a couple of new faces in Jan and I think Sam will sort the rest out, at the end of the day its a game of opinions and we have to respect eveyones, just the toxic rubbish that gets put on here sometimes and I am with the Eds on that one, cheers mate.

Agree2 Disagree2

31 Dec 2017 16:44:03
Bluetooth if as you say the only problem with our team is that the players are good enough but under preforming, Then we won't really need to buy anyone in the transfer window. All we need do is keep on at the players until they start to preform.

You accuse GB of going on about Sam as if he were the lord Saviour, maybe the reason he does is because he is sick to death of the majority of posts treating Sam as though he were the devil incarnate.

The history books will not say we played badly they will say 8 games 1 defeat after only 1 full month in charge, That averages 2 games a week for 4 weeks, even the top teams struggle with that yet most are still venomous towards him.

People say Sam has ONLY done what was expected of him, well he is the only one out of our last 3 managers (that includes caretaker manager) who has done so, yet people still attack him and slag him off on here. For as long as that happens and the toxic posts continue then I for one will be posting on here as though he was our Saviour.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 17:06:37
We have to remember big Sam was brought in because we've had 2 managers now that have let the standards slip, we were heading to the championship and I don't care what anyone says, big Sam has come in done a fantastic job, it's not pretty but I bet it's better this season after the start to play ugly and remain in the league than get a manager like the last 2 who will try and play fantastic football but lose 4_1, we needed to get back to basics, big Sam has done this, let's see what happens when he's been able to put a few of his own style players in place, remember these players have been trying to play a certain way, they can't change over night, a new system takes time, and the right players for the system, some players aren't upto it, I'm sure big Sam knows this but he only has what he's been given to play with.

Agree2 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 17:18:33
Always been consistent in my view and support of Football. Cannot actually remember why I started supporting Everton, (Family are divided between the RS and PNE) since when my Son has followed in my footsteps but Grand Son has decided on the dark side. The point being however, is that Everton for me can play rubbish, hoofball or dogs of war and every score can be 0-0 or 1-0. I wish I still could play (injuries when you are younger eventually come back to bite you in the arse) but I remember the reason I did was because I enjoyed the competition and the endeavour to win. I don't ever remember a Team member or Manager saying come on lads we are here to entertain and play pretty football.

What i said is guernsey blue is comparing us to newcastle, we are much better than newcastle in every position, i never said anything at all about our only problem is underperforming, i said we are underperforming with the talented players we have an newcastle are just crap so we can't be compared, so were you got that from ill never know. I neber said we didn't need to dip into the transfer market because every man an his dog knows we desperately need to. I also said i was happy with the job sam has done and i actually think he's a top manager, his length of career in the prem tells you everything, but he's not what you 2 keep making him out to be. Your saying your sick of people moaning about sam but a lot of people are sick of you 2 going on about him like your being paid off by him, as i told you already opinions are like arse holes, everybodys got 1, its just you 2 get a cob on because people have the audacity not to agree with you. Hi ed 25 thought this info from MillƮ Gazete might be interesting for u. TurkishBesiktas Cenk Tosun'ın England Premier League teams to the end of the transfer is now Everton. An agreement was reached with Istanbul's Everton Football Director Steve Walsh for a meeting with black-and-white executives.
25 MILLION EURO URGENTLY UNDERSTANDED!
Chairman Fikret Orman frequently interviewed during the breaks in South Africa Besiktas and Everton, meeting in the common point. As a result of this agreement, Everton Club will pay 23 million euros for black-and-white for Cenk Tosun's testimony. In addition, a 2 million euro bonus payment of 2 million euros was written and Cenk paid a total of 25 million euros.
4 MILLION EUROS OF ANNUAL CENK!
After Beşiktaş and Everton, the 26-year-old scorer had an agreement with the English team in football. Everton will sign a 4.5-year contract with Cenk Tosun. The British club will give the striker a salary of 4 million euros annually.
IF THIS WEEK WILL BE DISPLAYED
The final details will be finalized soon after the agreement between the two clubs and will be officially announced on 2 January or 3 January.

On the other hand, Cenk Tosun and his wife Ece Tosun went to England and there was a further development. Cenk Tosun's father and manager went to England. It is expected that the national goal scored in the transfer will pass through health control in a short period of time. (Sporx)

I have a question for people moaning about us wanting N'Zonzi.

When you see how slow our midfield is and you see how bad Schneiderlin and McCarthy are and how Besic is basically finished as a footballer due to injury. Do people really think we don't need him? A midfielder who can carry the ball at a pace quicker than a tortoises dads favourite oak tree? That can turn quicker than the titanic unlike our current central midfielders.

People can moan about Tom Davies all they want but at least he tries to go forward.

I'd take N'Zonzi all day, better than what we have by a long way.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

31 Dec 2017 10:16:10
Agreed totally Swan. Plus he is good for set pieces and to throw up front with 10 mins to go if you are a goal down like yesterday.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 12:43:05
The question is exactly that. Would he improve our starting 11? Considering Schneiderlin gets in just about every starting 11, then yes, he would.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - But perhaps one not to hold your breath over.}

31 Dec 2017 14:04:15
I genuinely don't know how Schneiderlin is getting in the team. He offers absolutely zilch going forwards. Plays square passes continuously and slides in on his arse most of the time doing a similar job to Gueye on occasion. But then he often gives the ball away or slows things down so much we break out as slow as the queue in the Jobcentre. I would say Davies offers so much more. Klaasen must be totally miffed and we are looking at Nzonzi? Why did we sign Shneids and Klaasen? Over 60 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 14:17:36
I'd sell him, he doesn't get in before Gana and Baningime for me. Bring Klassen on to give him some game time, I think/ Hope he'll come good.
Schneids is only limiting Davies and Baningimes game time and doesn't want to go forwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 15:18:28
agreed smit666.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 18:14:19
One thing everyone agrees on is that Schneiderlin is crap. We need midfielders who drive forward with the ball. Davies is the only one who dribbles forward from the midfield. I reckon we could recoup 20m for Schneids in the current market so get rid.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 19:18:54
Moyes would pay 30mill for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 19:44:44
Striker and a left back is priority for me. I'd also clear out Snids, Barkley, Besic and McCarthy before bringing anyone else in for that position.

It's not that I don't like the lad Nzonzi but at 29 and the money between 25 to 32 mil being talked about is he the best we can Get?

Again he wasn't great the 1sf time he was here and he seems better suited to a slower league. Not knocking though if he comes give him our support.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 08:55:05
"Our goalscoring abilities are limited, you don't need to be a manager to look at what the squad has got, " said Allardyce after the game. He added that we have plenty of creative midfielders but not many natural goalscorers. exactly what I have been saying since Martinez started signing them all. He added that this is why he has concentrated on coaching defending. Until we get natural goalscorers in, that's all we can really work on.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

31 Dec 2017 09:10:19
That sounds like madness. You're no good at something so we are going to work on something else?!

I spoke to Craig Johnston who used to play for Liverpool at the launch of his Predator boots back in the 90s. He said he was bloody rubbish at football and had no natural talent at all. So he worked on it every single day to improve and get better. If someone told him to do something he would do it and then do it again and again until he was a master of it.

That's how you get better at something not just leave it one side and hope it fixes itself.

Agree4 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 09:40:18
BJU, I will try and explain in a way that maybe makes sense. The way I see it. I understand exactly what you mean and agree 100%. providing you have one thing on your side. time. Craig Johnson was presumably talking about growing up and throughout his career. Allergy is on about now. We were in the bottom 3 when he arrived. He could work on attacking skills and formations and we could maybe score 2 or 3 more goals this season than we would have with the scale of improvements you can make in that sort of time with established adult footballers at the prime of their lives. But is we were still conceding 28 goals every 8 games we would still be losing eg 5 2 or some similar score. I could go on and on but wont. What Allergy said makes complete sense to me. for the short term to get us some points. Long term is get other players. Bring youth through. Work on attacking skills. If he could do all of those now, I am sure he would. But he can't. So he is working on what he can do. Putting in plans for what he can't do right now. I can see it. Maybe you can't mate?

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 09:44:29
Utter nonsense, he can ramble on about our lack of goal scorers all he wants, letā€™s look at this.

He said after the West Brom game that DCL is knackered so he plays him again yesterday (makes no sense) .

He is moaning about a lack of people who can put the ball in the back of the net, so he plays 3 defensive midfielders against a team so bad at defending they make us when Martinez was manager look like the Milan side from the mid 2000s.

If he wants to help increase the goals we score then he should probably start the likes of Lookman, Vlasic, Niasse or Sandro rather than park the bus against a terrible Bournemouth side and look to get a point only to lose the game. Heā€™s talking out of his arse.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that swan..

31 Dec 2017 10:23:13
Well guys, I am in the monority. I agree with the man himself. I get his point about DCL. But yeah maybe he could have played Niasse? Maybe he could have played all the attacking players you suggest. He could have picked them in the last 8 games too. Maybe we would have scored those few more goals. Maybe we would have carried on conceding 4 or 5 a game? None of us know the answer to those questions. But I do know that if you have a hole in a bucket, you plug the hole first ad make it look prettier and painted etc afterwards. Making a pretty bucket with a hole in is good for some things but not to be used as a bucket.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i like that degs, i dont think the guys are talking about wholesale changes but better options on the bench mate..

31 Dec 2017 11:06:32
I am trying to tone down my responses after my 6 month sabatical away from this site. Being an Evertonian on-line is so much more difficult than face to face! You can explain things and respect each other so much easier. When someone on here says, "utter tosh" or "what a load of ***ocks". it is so easy to take offence. On a lighter note an old mate of mine used to say, "take a gate". its smaller than taking offence!

Agree3 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 11:22:24
Agree Swan, he has strikers he just refuses to play them. The only way a striker can play his way into form is by being on the bloody pitch. He canā€™t do it from the bench. Donā€™t think any of us know if Sandro is any good or not, as the lad just isnā€™t getting a fair chance, and as for Lookman, seriously why is this kid not playing?

Agree3 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 12:11:54
I think I may have the answers to your questions Woburn. Sandro is simple: 116 first team appearances in his career and 31 goals. 15 of those goals for Barcelona B team. that's a forward averaging one in three playing for (mostly) a team that thrashes every other team and averages a minimum of 2 or 3 goals a game. In our team, creating 1 or 2 chances a game at the moment, he is likely to hardly ever score. Now if you are saying we need better midfielders to create chances for him, I would agree. "Sideways" Shneiderlin, Gueye the "interceptor" and Grappling "McCarthy" don't have a run or penetrating pass between them. not many anyway. Besic is another. Sig was brought in to do this, but on his own. its not enough. without a center forward with some muscle and experience to hold the ball up. Lookman is still a kid from what I have seen. Yes he has potential, but in my humble opinion, put him in to a team with no creativity in midfield other than Sig and he will just be out the game. Easily marked by any experienced defender. I do see potential in Tom Davies too and don't understand why he is not picked regularly and told to carry the ball. Like he did against Man City last season. If you look we replaced Arteta, Gravesson, Fellaini, Carsley, Pienaar and Osman with what we have now and in between we had Cleverly and Barry. The fact is the lot from 8 years ago were all capable of running forwards with the ball and nearly all the midfielders since are sideways/ tackling players. The first bunch had bags of goals between them. the current lot don't score many at all. Never have in all of their careers. The dissapointment is the Ajax lad Davy Klassen. He was supposed to be the forward passer with Gylfie Sig. Hopefully he will come good?

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 13:07:03
I have to say I am a little baffled by some of Allardyces comments. Sometimes he makes complete sense, more often than not in the pre match conference and then totally contradicts himself in the post match interviews. I think I heard him after the Bournemouth game say he could have gone more defensive! Really, not sure how? We are screaming out for forward passing midfielders so for me Davies, Baningime and Klassen or Vlasic should be next to Gana and not Schneiderlin. Maybe there is an argument for Schneiderlin against maybe Chelsea or Man U but not WBA or Bournemouth. WBA sit deep and therefore require craft and guile to unlock the defence, maybe Klassen, Davies, Lookman or Sandro. Bournemouth bomb forward with no regard for defending so maybe a Niasse or Sandro could have had some joy as Niasse did for a while against them.
Really we should have 2 almost different attacking teams for 2 or 3 different type of opponents, teams that sit back and those that pressure and attack. We have one team which only defends but does that well, the only problem is, if we go behind, we need a plan B.
By the way Sam, no amount of No9s in the world are going to help us if we can't get the ball to them.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats a fair point smit..

31 Dec 2017 13:21:32
Sorry degsyp have to disagree. Lookman is more than ready. Put him on the wing and move Sig into the middle where he should be playing. As for Klassen, again if you donā€™t play him you will never know. By the way Gueye plays a lot better without Scneiderlin next to him. So why do it?

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 14:18:51
Well we all seem to agree that Schneids should not be playing even if we differ views on other players and tactics. It is obvious to me that Barry had some sort of positional sense that we are missing even if it was his pace etc that slowed him down. But I think my main point is the overall lack of goals from midfield. In our winning/ drawing streak Rooney bagged a few from midfield. Other than that we have 1 from Gueye and 3 from Sigurdsson. None from the rest in midfield. So as well as missing a center forward, we are missing goals from midfield. Compare that with the players I mentioned from 8 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 14:19:22
Good question Woburn? Makes no sense tome.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2017 15:48:02
I think a lot of Allardyce's comments smack a little of self justification. The point about 3 DM against a team of Bournemouth's attacking bias and defensive fragility is well made. As a squad player such as Vlasic, Lookman, Niasse or indeed Sandro, I would be dismayed to see the manager stating that there are no attacking options other than what we see. I think the truth is that the manager does not want to risk a more attacking style and talk of the inability to open up and play more is to deflect criticism than anything else.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Dec 2017 17:27:00
strange thing is watching that game yesterday, with 3 DM's our defence reverted to rat droppings once again. I posted this yesterday, two teams on the park one team could not defend the other team could not attack, one team could defendish the other team could attack. Only one outcome.
