I would put Swan center midfield for the rest of the season. Just been reading some of his posts below. So much aggression and front. Wow, Sir Alex Ferguson once said that Dennis Wise could start a fight in an empty room. He would have to kick Swan out first!

Id do a better job then osman, as would every one of the posters on this site

I'm beginning to think he secretly loves Leon :)

I reckon Ronaldo is going to spend more time sliding to the corner flag on his knee's than Balotelli is going to have touches tonight.

Another europa win against lille will do just nicely this week. Think ill go for a 2-1 eto'o and coleman to do the business. Coyb!!

This is the key match of the group for us. A win and we are almost certain to qualify. Wouldn't want us going to Wolfsburg needing a result the form they are in at present.

Any chance of a poll of the day:
Should referees and linesmen 'man up' and start awarding penalty kicks for what everyone else sees as blatant holding by defenders at corner kicks? 'Yes' or 'No'

I'm a little surprised that someone has actually voted 'no' in the poll of the day about diving. That's their prerogative of course :-)
Surely 'diving' is by definition the deliberate simulating of a foul by a player when he's actually been cleanly challenged by an opposing player and is therefore cheating. A player being tackled aggressively and genuinely going down under the physical contact is one thing - and it's up to the referee and his assistants to rule accordingly (some hope!) - but in my book a player who dives is making a conscious decision to make a good well-timed tackle look like a foul. I guess that with all of the money at stake in professional football these days, it's regarded as one of those issues where any advantage (however gained) is to be sought by players. So sad.

Best or worst one ever was Robert Pirres where he started pulling his own shirt in the box, then went down. When I first saw it I thought, "penalty!". Then on the replay you could see what he had done. Genius or cheat?

Oh, definitely genius :-)

How about the Thierry Henry handball for France that blatantly cheated Ireland in the World Cup play-off match back in 2009?
Pires, Henry, hmmm - both Arsenal players - is there a pattern emerging? Just kidding ;-)

Has anyone else seen the 'Rodgers Out' banner a group from that lot over the park are planning to have hitched behind a plane and flown over a*field for their game against Chelsea?
It's only a few months since he was a football genius and nearly won them the league. Talk about fickle, long may it continue.

We have our fair share of fickle fans just like any club.
Back in the (admittedly dark) days before Howard Kendall led the club to its mid-1980s successes, there was a big campaign by a lot of supporters to get rid of him. Thankfully, the board stood firm - even though we were struggling badly for results and performances - and we were all soon rewarded by a few years of trophies that was only cut short imho by the English clubs being banned from European football. Without that ban, HK and our top players wouldn't have left and we'd have surely gone on from success to success. Thankfully, the supporters didn't get HK sacked and the rest is history.
We might not have the money that buys success for some other clubs, but we do have two things that are good for us: 1) what money we do have for players we have usually spent well; and 2) we have stability with a board that doesn't knee-jerk react to the turbulences along the way.

I remember (just) those days Sid but when the fans were on hk's and the boards cases we hadn't actually won anything or were doing well anywhere . My point was that last season rodgers took them to within a whisker of the title and he was hailed as the second coming. Now, after a few bad results he's vilified and they want rid.
I don't think even our most ardent fans could be that fickle. Personally I'm loving all the chaos over the park and am enjoying seeing their glum little faces.
