So when Monday morning comes the squad will be back at Finch Farm.
Have we bought anyone? No. Does it matter? No.
It will be like having 3 new signings. Vlasic, Klassen and Sandro will all have a chance to impress Silva and show that they can play/ fit into our new system.
Whether they stay or go.
Exciting times ahead Blues.

Agree there Smit Silva can start working his magic and who knows what could happen with the likes of Sandro he could fit into a system next season. Be good to see if Lookman has talks with Silva and Brands and stays lots to look forward to.

Bet it will be an interesting first week for the players that are back on Monday, I'm still not concerned about transfers as we get linked to someone if not more every day and yet no-one saw Mori going the way he did, things are happening let's just let the guys do their job and get ready for that first game.

Pure rag rubbish take no notice mate.

I know GB most of the stories are just recycled or guesses by so called journalists. Brands knows what he's doing and with the new tactics by Silva apparently a 4-3-3 we should be utilising the players we have with a few upgrades on the ones we release.

You are right there mate I posted a couple of weeks ago that when Mori went nobody knew let alone the rags, long may it stay that way, good times ahead.

Vlasic, Klassen and Sandro the sooner we get rid of the better then we can bring in new blood, especially Sandro he will never make it in the prem in a million years.

I thought I would add a post in regards to attention Pickford is picking up from neutrals, some of it is for me, in my opinion needing working on the become one of the best goalkeepers.

No doubting still young and can learn, starting with not crossing his arms and going for the ball with his other hand, staying closer to his goal line to maximise any unexpected long range shots over head height, catching a ball and demanding the area his his.

Something Neville Southall achieved to become the very best, he went out on loan, came back, worked on his saves, his catches and the commanding of his penalty area, when that ball went in the box no prisoners were taken with Nev, he made the ball his on countless ocassions, only one flaw with Nev and came later in his career was the chip over his head, Schmichel had the same when he was chipped, so even great goalkeepers have a chink in their armour.

De gea makes countless saves with his feet and legs, not a lot has been said by that by the neutrals, more keepers are electing to punch or claw the ball away than ever now.

So again I say with age on Pickfords side, he can tweak the small flaws to become on of the best, he's almost there now and will get even better, made up we have the guy as our number one keeper.

De geas first season with United was a disaster but SAF kept with him and look at him now. Pickford will be amazing. And when he is, the whole team will be too.

Better not bitter

The reason keepers punch the ball away now is because it creates the counter attack.

It is amazing to think how many goals are created by punching the ball out instead of holding it and why keepers are trained to do this.

He has to angle them away better but he's not wrong doing it, it just needs tweaking.

He is so similar to Ter Stegan in size and athleticism who in my eyes is one of the best in world football.

He's going to be a superstar when he gains experience and matures.

I'm a big admirer of Neves, I flagged him up on here last year before he moved to Wolves. Let's now see how he gets on in the EPL this coming season. I think (and hope) he starts crap then performs exceptionally from their 2nd game onwards.

If I'm not mistaken he was told he had to sign for them by his agent who somehow has something to do with wolves maybe one of the eds can shed light on the murky world of wolves football club.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Neves was not told he had to join Wolves, but it was made clear that he was told it would be a good stepping stone to a leading club and the wages would be better than in Portugal. The long-term interest in the player, regardless of everyone and his dog having him watched by scouts, was from Chelsea and Juventus. Neither club wanted him last summer, nor did the other side he was offered to, Manchester United, at that time. That left Wolves as the viable option and the move went ahead. Right now Jorge is still "assisting" Wolves by negotiating with lawyer Juan de Dios Cresp Perez, who is representing Bruno de Carvalho and Sporting, looking for an agreement whereby Wolves can sign Rui Patricio and have his registration transferred. It will have started with compensation being offered to the value of RP as an intangible asset to Sporting rather than what Sporting value him at - it may be enough but sporting will start at €18M which is the transfer fee that had been previously agreed. Sporting will also make clear that they will not pay any fees to JM which means this could yet turn out to be a costly deal for Wolves.

The Football League were asked at the start of the year to investigate the relationship between Jorge Mendes and his business Gestifute and Wolves from a legal perspective, given the regulations surrounding third parties not being allowed to influence transfers. They concluded that as Jorge Mendes and Gestifute was simply an advisor to the club and the owners (Fosun), then all was fine - which it wouldn't be if he were an employee (director etc.) of either the club or Fosun. This was rather a surprise to me at the time, and a surprise to JM as well, as it was expected that at the very least the EFL would have issued some guidance and set down what could and could not happen. Leeds were one of the clubs that raised the original issue and they complained that the EFL had not addressed the matter - only for the EFL to go on the back foot to defend their position and say that they investigated and answered the specific question asked. The surprise to me was that they appear to have considered that Jorge was not employed or a part owner of Wolves and Fosun but completely ignored the ownership of his business Gestifute - which is part owned by a company which is itself owned by Fosun chairman Guo Guangchang. More than a tenuous link I am afraid and one the EFL should have dealt with. Interestingly, under FA rules the Premier League will have an obligation to look in to this matter as well. It will be interesting to see what happens there or if, as I suspect, it all goes rather quiet. In the bigger picture, China will continue to increase their influence over the world-wide game and will look to invest further in to clubs at the high-end of the game.}

Cheers ED my only argument is can you see any of the top 6 stand by and watch if wolves however unlikely break into the top 6 next season they will put the FA under massive pressure as it all sounds very dodgy to me reg Neves when he moved to wolves I thought a lot of clubs where I treated in him not just champions s league clubs but clubs who were close to getting it yet in the advice of his agent who has ties to wolves told him to go there so isn't that basically the same thing as being told to go to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any of the “top 6” having concerns about Wolves and it is nothing to do with the FA at all. As I said he was not told to join Wolves - that was his choice.}

30 Jun 2018 18:59:21
Isn't this exactly what we are trying to do with another 'super agent' though (forgotten his name) . Surely not too many fellow blues will be moaning if we are successful with our progression because of this.

Kopit opinion of pickford should be considered, I mean, who should know better than them what a rubbish house keeper looks like, afder all, they do have two prime exampales.

Is this from the new Scouse-English dictionary? Kopit, Rubbish house, Afder, Exampales.

It's mostly in jest, not everyone is great at spelling so don't take it personally, but I have to criticise because of the dig at our boy Pickford. Sure he still has things to learn but I'm over the moon he's ours!
