Not been that impressed with Grosicki tonight, if the rumours are true then he could be coming our way but thought he looked pretty average. Anyone have any ideas if he is any good or not?

I saw him the first half against the Swiss last week pace to burn the best player on the park first half and A assist as well.

Not many Polish or Eastern European players seem to do well in the prem for some reason.
Even if they look good in these competions they mostly struggle in England.

Talented player capable of scoring goals. Direct and very hard working. Decent season at Rennes last time out and had a decent goals/ assist return considering his was mainly a bit part player under Claude Puel.

In my opinion Mirallas is a better player, but Grosicki could certainly be a weapon from the bench. £8m in the current climate is a snip in my opinion. We should be seeking to build a squad of 18 excellent players, not just XI. Would welcome the deal myself.

Have patience one and all.

RK seems to me a very deliberate and strategic sort of fellow.

First: He knows our weaknesses and strengths from 4 games the last 2 years. I think he has a good idea of our current capacities. He will need to see what our youth have to offer.

Second: He and FM seen quite deliberate in nature. I do not believe they will panic buy or chase the next Ronoldo wanna-be. They will purchase players strategically.

Third: He needs to talk to Stones. What better coach to talk to him than RK.

Fourth: If Lukaku tanks the rest of the Euros, then we keep him. If he starts popping in goals, the price goes as stated.

Fifth: RM clearly did not get out of Everton what the Everton team had to give.

Good year, COYB.

Agreed this is not a squad that needs ripping apart 2-4 quality signings and getting the best from current squad,

Del Boy
Barkley
Stones
Coleman
Mirralas
Lukaku
McCarthy
Basic

Not too mention others coming through RK will have so much to work with watch the intensity this team will start with next season we will have a purpose about us no more 400 passes in a game with 99% being 5yards sideways or back.

Bony would be a good signing imo. As Koeman likes two up top i'd doubt many defences would want to play against Lukaku and Bony together. Both are fast and strong and proven goal scorers (admittedly not Bony for city but at Swansea) .

30 Jun 2016 18:18:28
Bony yes at the right price. Anything more than £15m at this stage is too much imo. He's almost 28 and his moral at the moment is probably not at its highest.

Still at £15m or less I'd be very happy with him. He's a good player and along with Lukaku we would have a strong strike force. If Lukaku goes we'd obviously have to sign another striker.

reports stating Mandanda to palace has been confirmed. according to L'Equipe only a £2M fee involved.

if they are right then i feel we have missed out. hope we don't actually go sign hart.

Hart, rubbish for Man City last year and rubbish for England do not want him we already have a bad keeper Robles.

Whilst I agree our younger swill need the rule running over their potential, RK should have a good idea of the regular first team players and will have assessed the possibility of losing 'I am world class' Lukaku and JS.
Therefore, shouldn't be letting a really good striker like Jannsen end up at Spurs, I doubt a better value striker will be available during the transfer window.

Long time since on this site.
Lots of good and bad news over the last 9 months.
Our so called young stars were crap last year IMO and some were inconsistent to say the least.
100 mil to start. + Lukaku 65 Stone 50 Barkley 40.
Replace with Virgil VD, Fraser Forster, Benteke, Willnaldum. Youg promising players promote to 1st team and we have the makings of a good squad.

Last season it was recognised by all that the team under performed and should have finished a lot higher than they did.

The new manager may well see this himself and decide to go into next season with just a new No1 GK and hope to retain Lukaku and Stones.

Until he knows their situation and has a good chat with them he cannot plan too far ahead. If he keeps them and works on teams weaknesses from last season he may not need to go on a spending spree. He has some good young players coming through and may well give some a try. Only seeing where they end next season will determine further rebuild.

A top 8 finish good improvement, top 6 can be considered excellent for first season.
As others have said it takes time, we've not only to keep pace with other clubs, but to play catchup to get back to where we belong. Patience, patience.

Whether Lukaku stays we still need another striker to either support Rom or put pressure on his place. We also definitely need a natural left sided midfielder as we don't have one at all. So maybe just them 3 areas to address and then use already established squad members and youngsters.

The only definite outgoing moves so far involving senior players are:
(1) The end-of-contract releases of Hibbert, Osman and Pienaar; and
(2) The move of Howard to the MLS.
As it stands, we still have 25 aged-over-21 players, so we need to create room in the squad for a new experienced goalkeeper (to replace Howard) - plus any other new players that RK might want - by letting some other current ones move on.
Surely RK has to assess the current squad - which requires the players to return to training - before we actually start making transfers.
Until RK can see the players up close and personal - on the training ground and in the friendly matches and in the first few fixtures before the transfer window closes - how can he make a well-informed decision?
I don't doubt that Everton are actually scouting and looking at possible recruits - and been "sounding out" various potential moves - but please let's give RK a chance to do a proper and professional job of reshaping and refreshing the squad.
People might think that other clubs conclude deals quickly, but there's a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes before a modern-day transfer can be completed. No doubt Ed002 can comment on that.

i belive it was commented earlier that it took him 22 days to make his first signing for Southhampton. whilst i agree that he should taeka good, close look at the squad i think there are positions or signing he can make. Such as the all important Goalkeeper.

As we only have Joel, who i believe is not goof enough for first team (especially if we want to push for top 8, 6, 4 etc. ) he should be able to make a decision based on that. I do agree that he needs to look at the forwards and decide how he's going to play.

3 forwards in Lukaku, Niasse and Kone.
Youngsters in Dowell and Tarasaj (who i believe have played as forwards)

im a fan of mirallas playing as a second striker and believ that was his main role at Olympiakos.

but it depends on a lot of factors like you rightfully memtioned above.

The only definite incoming move in my humble opinion is for a goalkeeper. This does allow him to realise that we are ubder staffed in the creative midfield area. 2 Players definately leaving. So out of a 25 man squad, that is pretty high. Add in the terrible signing of McGeady and the problem is compounded. Add in Lennon's inconsistency and Deulofeu's inconsistency. this is why I have gone on and on about it for ages. Our squad is so defficient in that area it is so obvious to me. I would expect at least one signing in that area. Someone with more consistency than the last 2 I mentioned. Someone who scores a few goals and makes assists on a regular basis. They don't come cheap and are difficult to unearth. Perhaps RM can get Mirallas playing again, because in my view he is the only one we have in that category who can do it consistently.

Degsy i really hope rm doesn't get mirallas playing but rk does 😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jun 2016 15:58:01
Totally disagree Degsy. I believe Lennon and Del boy are more consistent than Mirallas. I like Mirallas and am delighted he will probably get a fair chance under RK. He was disregarded far too much by RM and got a raw deal imo. At the same time I have only 2 small issues with Mirallas. His consistency has never been good and his discipline at times is shaky.

Lennon and Del boy inconsistent? Where did you get that from. Last season Del boy played very well in the first half of the season. He didn't get a chance in the second half of the season. He can hardly be inconsistent if he's not played. Same applies to Lennon in the second half of the season. He didn't get a chance in the first half of the season. Hardly call him inconsistent because he didn't get a chance.

I challenge you to get any players that has more goals and assist's than Lennon or Del boy for the amount of games they played. So basically find someone who has more goals and assist's per game for last season?

If there is any, there is very few.

Bluetooth. whoops RK yes. NBTB: Deulofeu 16 appearances and 2 goals and 8 assists. Lennon 17 appearances 5 goals and no assists. Mirallas 10 appearances 4 goals and 2 assists.

I believe that defensively Mirallas is much superior to Deulofeu who is quite terrible. Lennon surprised me with his work rate and tackling back in a few games and he also won a couple of penalties in key games if I remember right. However, as his stats prove (and this is what I said earlier) he flatters to decieve and does not often have an end product. So from the 3 players, Mirallas is the best all rounder. He scores, he delivers and he is strong defensively. Deulofeu scores, delivers but is terrible defensively. Lennon scores, is strong defensively but does not deliver assists. There you have it from who scored . com. Away in Scotland for a couple of weeks so won't be on here much to aggitate people. Have fun guys.

30 Jun 2016 18:28:52
Degsy you fail to mention Del boy 10 sub appearances, Lennon 8 sub appearances, Mirallas 13 sub appearences. Fairer analysis when considering goals and assists to include all appearances.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2016 06:43:36
Degsy you can't take away from Deulofeu's assists. Why can't we play both Mirallas and Deulofeu, or rotate a bit according to form. I rate Mirallas, but for me he is the most inconsistent player we have, he is infuriating at times. But, like Deulofeu, he is one of those players who is dangerous and can score/ assist at any time. The issue last season was that RM used about 8 players on the wing last season, and often played players out of position, rather than utilising our actual wingers, so none of the 3 you mentioned got a proper run in the team.

As regards goals, last season we scored 59 goals (from a poor position) which is not that bad. Looking at the past league seasons, you only need about 70 goals scored to win the league. Leicester won it with 68 goals scored. The key is not conceding (which I belive RK will sort out) . You can complain about our goalscoring all you like, but consider this: Assuming all players remain, and feature enough next season, it would be reasonable to suggest that Lukaku can get another 25 goals, Mirallas is good for 10-15, Barkley the same, Lennon can repeat his 5, Deulofeu could probably match Lennon (although his value is assists) That's already 50-60 goals. We would then only need for the rest of the squad to chip in with 1 or 2 each and we will be fine. And that's without any of the attacking players we may sign.

Your negativity is becoming tiresome Degsy. I feel like the only way you would be happy is if we had not got RK, but got Moyes instead and handed Hibbo and Osman 5 year deals.

there was a lot of players in France that should hang their heads in shame, some should never be picked to represent their country again yet the tool that is Stan decides to have a dig at one of the few players that where not given a chance, football brain or not he would have done a dam site better than caught in the headlight Deli Ali or am to scared to be in the box so I will take the corners and free kicks Kane.
