This post is spot on. It's all about keeping the quality we, ve got this month. I'd be quite happy if there were no signings in or out. We've looked excellent this season and if a few of them draws we had were wins we'd probably be first or second to united. It's obviously a massive plus we have the opportunity to bring in numbers but at the the same time we don't want to sell today, or rush buy. Imwt, 3 points Saturday. Villa look awfull COYB

Half of you are embarrassing, our team is on course for a top 4 finish, and all you wanna do is go on here and blast different players, moyes, kenwright, devising conspiracy theory's on bk, grow up the lot of you he is doing his best with the budget he has, why would we wanna spend 8 mlion on a player who could potentially have an injury that cod one day flare up and end his career. . There is a reason we are fans and not invbed with the club, cause 90% haven't got a clue. Sorry to those who are positive but this is getting rediculous.

Kevin Kilbane, tv Radio 5 liveEverton 1-0 West Brom

"That's typical of Leighton Baines this season - a wonderful strike. He set himself nicely and got a little bend on it, with such power. I recommended him to Everton when I was at Wigan. He was in the process of going to Sunderland at the time, so I'll take a little credit there. He's a top player."

I probably agree with everton's decision on fer. There isn't much point in us forking out a load of money for a crock. Moyes's judgement on transfers is generally pretty good and he doesn't normally let too many slip. However one name springs to mind. Demba Ba. Stoke didn't want him because of his knee problem. Newcastle signed him and he didn't have a problem there and now Chelsea have let him join after passing his medical. i'm not saying that the same will happen for Fer but this one could potentially come back to bite us in the arse.

Every one knows Phil Neville is the weak link in our team, editor, I know your just being Political, but come on, Neville is poor, always has been, always will be. Right back or Bench {Ed025's Note - i do prefer him at full back, but while gibbo is injured, he can still do a job for me mate..

Phill Neville in Midfield again? Sick to death of him getting a start in Midfield. I don't even care if people disagree. Never was a decent Cm in his prime, never mind at his age. Sorry everyone, its RB or no where.
Fuming, a must win game against a side that have already beaten us and he's in CM again.

Just bang Fellaini in the Middle with Osman and put Vic and Vellios up top, simple

Another Thing, if Mirallas pulls up again then i'm going to gonna invade the pitch and bollock Moyes.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Statistic from TV last week. Average points gained without Neville = 1. Average points gained with Neville = 2. So that's why he is England international and League Winner and why Red Nose didn't want him to leave. Yes he is a safety first player, but the amount of last ditch blocks and tackles he does amazes me.

The biggest mystery for me about the Fer deal is that it is announced on the site that we agreed a fee. Why? He then fails the medical (or is nicked in Holland) and the deal is off. All that happens now is that other clubs are alerted to the fact that we have cash to spend. Whereas before clubs may have thought "Oh, it's Everton. They're skint. The fee for our player is £3M" will now be thinking "Moyes has £9M burning a hole in his back pocket and has 24 hours to spend it. We'll hold them to ransom and that player who we value at £3M is now going to get us £7M". BlueTone {Ed025's Note - your over-thinking things tone...the internet, and social media sites make it virtually impossible to keep these things under wraps..

With the Fer deal falling through that means we have that money to spend, maybe a couple of million more on top of that?
So, we need a defensive midfielder, a striker and maybe a young keeper?
So...
Defensive midfielder - Ofoe?
Striker - I would personally take Darren Bent? but GENUINE rumour about Fernando Amorebieta from Athletico Madrid? so you never know!
Keeper - Shay Given doing the rounds but I would personally be happier with Butland

Thoughts

Eddy {Ed025's Note - if the guy is coming over for a medical eddy, its hard to keep it quiet..especially with social networking sites tracking every move..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

We haven't responded to any other rumours all the names that have been mentioned Everton have not came out and confirmed or denied our interest of joe bloggs so even if fer was having a medical it would just be speculation until Everton confirmed it, Everton should only release a statement or call a press conference once everything is finalised. We always have been poor in this department. Us fans want to know who we signing its like Xmas day we all thinking who ? and speculating on sites like this but I would rather the club acted a bit more professional it's gives fans a false sense of excitement it shows other clubs if we got money or how much approx, if we get someone else in they will feel 2nd choice and not feel as wanted. Or could disrupt the squad ie say if it was a GK that failed his medical Howard would be thinking oh the gaffer has no faith in me. Just my thoughts.

Probably like the rest of my fellow blues, I had never heard of Leroy Fer before this week. Disappointed that it didn't go through as he sounds a decent player. It does highlight the importance of a thorough medical, as £8.6m would have been a large sum of money to lose if he had proven to be a crock! Lets hope he doesn't go on to be a £40m player and end up at Madrid or Barca.

Just hope we haven't left it too late to find someone else! BK and DM are going to be busy tomorrow. An evening in front of tv tomorrow night for me.

I wish people would wait until teh club make a statement ergarding Lero Fer. yes the club have kept this target quiet, due to Harry Robknapp and Girtrid Souness previously trying to buy everyonwe of our transfer targets.

I trust moyes and think if he has been watching Leroy for so long then it must be a serious knee problem to cause Moyes to pull out. However as soem peopkle suggest this could be a bargaining tool to lower teh up front fee paid by the club.

In moyes we trust so I suggest we wait and see what happens with Leroy the Lion and also the likes of Ofoa etc as i'm sure we will have at least 2 new faces come Friday Morning.

Whatever happens with this Leeroy Fer lad, we have to trust the club's judgement. If the lad is a crock I'd rather we cancel the deal, we have enough crocks in the squad as it is!

Can, t believe DM has been tracking Fer since he was a teenager and the minute he decides to go in for him after his great performances this season with Twente he has a dodgy knee. What happened to all the homework they supposedly do on a player.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

All the homework was done, we decided he was a good player! a medical isn't homework, its a transfer formality, to ensure what you are paying for is in working order!

A typical day on Everton-Rumours Banter :-

OFOE to sign on loan. Get in. Great player, 2 good feet, box to box, another Moysie gem of a signing. No longer interested. Good, he has been terrible for Brugge this season. Rubbish player.

CAPOUE linked with big money move to Everton. What a player this guy is. Best midfielder in the world, no doubt about it. Sign him up Davie. He'll take us to the next level.

: Everton about to sign FER. Yesss what a signing, I knew the messiah would surprise us. This is the player I wanted all along. 10 times better than Capoue. Thank you Sir David of Moyeshire. Best player in the world, no doubt about that. He can do everything this guy. Top drawer. FER has medical problems. Don't want him anyway. He isn't that good. Anyone know if we are after Ofoe?

So now that there are problems with Fer all of a sudden he wasn't that good anyway..... 2 things..

1. We have scouts who decide if he is good enough to put in front of Moyse nose, and let's face it, they are usually very good at spotting these gems

2. We have a medical team who are charged with the responsibility to ensure all new signings show no immediate or future signs of injury

So let's not worry, leave it to the pro's and Trust in Moyse

Here here!! so many football and medical 'experts' come out of the woodwork and start posting crap on here, if they were so good at spotting good players then they'd be scouts but they aren't

No thanks I'll trust in Moyes

TBH would not be too bothered if the Fer deal does not go through...as how many of us had even heard of him before a few days ago...not many I expect.
The positive coming out of this is that Moyes does have by all accounts a considerable transfer fund available for the right player(s).
Whether or not he utilises this before the end of the January transfer window is another matter.
Hopefully the deal will go through as to spend the amount he is willing on Fer must mean he rates him highly...IMWT...COYB for tonight.

Everton still want to do a deal fer the lad apparently and you can't really blame them for exercising caution. After all it's a significant amount of money for us and we need to get it spot on. It's the same as buying a car only to find out the engine is faulty. You'd renegotiate if that happened, so why shouldn't we. If it fails then I'm sure there are contingencies in place.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Were guna sign 2 .fer and another gem fer will sign by t time

Agree0 Disagree0

No news is good news, like the way everton are doin there business, .

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully we have someone lined up, I'm hoping Capoue but will probably end up with Vadis on loan or some other unknown quantity. Shame we didn't get this guy, although I've never seen him play, he was keeping Sneijder and van der Vaart out of the national team allegedly.

We have till 7:45 UK time to agree a deal for Fer

I expect like last season, a midmatch annoucement on him, fully expect him to sign.

Paul the Toffee

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Until 19:45? I think you'll find we have until 23:00 on the 31st (tomorrow).

Unless you mean we have until 19:45 to parade him at tonight's match.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he means that Everton have given Twente until 19:45 to accept our terms.

Gotta say, i'd love this guy, but Everton are doing the right thing here, no point in buying someone who is going to end up being like a tampon

Disco Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

No Keith, apparently Everton have given Twente an ultimatum that unless an agreement is reached by K/O tonight then the deal is off.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he means moyes wants to get deal done before kick off tonight so it doesn't role into deadline day so he has time to make signings

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather they got the deal done and a good deal at that before 11pm tommorow instead of rushing it just to parade him tonight! there is always saturday to get him on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been reported that we have given Twente until 7.45 tonight to accept the new terms otherwise we are pulling out that's what he meant mate.

don't fret - a dutch colleague of mine tells me that Fer is just ok - not brilliant - plenty more fish in sea if it falls through

Believable2 Unbelievable4

If his knee was reAlly bad twente would grab the new deal everton are offering, if itvwas that bad everton would pull out completely, .this deal will be still done everton s silence is golden, mite be trying to save a million for another loan

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal is definitely off, we pulled the plug completely this morning, that's from a chap who works for a national radio station,

Agree0 Disagree0

You would have thought we were signing Lionel Messi with the overboard reaction to the signing of this no mark. Yet now it looks like Fer is a total crock, he is no longer that good and we don't want him anyway.

Mike

*If he has signed before this gets posted, please note that he is World Class again.

Then why is his agent still in Liverpool working on the deal?

I think we need to forget Fey and put in for Capoue or Ofoe instead.

Too much to risk on a crock! Just look at Mirralas.

And all those thinking that he is a replacement for Fellaini? Do you not think its Phil Neville that needs replacing?

Blue Bones

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Well Said I think Twente have reacted very sly about the whole situation, if he has got a bad knee problem they need to act with dignity.Everton don't leave it too long with this need to look at other targets I agree capoue would be a good buy.Coyb Really trust moyesey on this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas a crock. Have some patients for crying out loud. How often was big dunc on the treatment table and many other legends?

Players get injuries and we do get impatient. But let's not right them off as crocks please.

I agree that we need to be cautious though as this significant amount of money could well represent our budget for this and the summer budget.

So youre happy with the amount of time he's on the treatment table Toffee Ace?
Youre made up when he leaves the field after 20 mins?

Thought Not!

Agree0 Disagree0

We have too many 'patients' at the moment ace. We don't need any more.

Agree0 Disagree0

You miss the point nameless ones. A crock is someone who has injury after injury over a long period of time. Let's judge Mirallas afer a longer are period a d give our medical team time to sort his hamstring out.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2013 08:29:43
Well I hope all the haggling and talks don't stop us sorting other deals out! It's typical everton luck the fer situation but its not bills fault he has a dodgy knee and good job it was spotted hopefully a deal can still be done!

Lets not forget that lescott had a so called dodgy knee and he was alright !

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Everton are trying abit of brinkmanship, if the knee was bad there would be no deal end of .there chairman has gone public, so' must be confident about findings of medicql and about selling to another club . Everton seem to be penny pinching, be very careful and get deal done and avoid more embarrassment .

Agree0 Disagree0

Demba ba woz supposed to have a bad knee wen we were interested, but we didn't sign him and missed out big time. Always sumthing in the way. 2dog blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Everton for picking this up.Really hope it goes through but think twente have been a bit sly about things.Coyb if we don't get him go for capoue.

Agree0 Disagree0

If his knee is fine and risk free ...like Twente are vehemently claiming ...then why not accept a clause in the payment terms ?? what would/could they lose ?

If we present the medical evidence to them, I really cannot imagine what case for denial they could give...

Fc twenty must have known abt fer injury they braggin how good he is why they selling him for £8mill if he's that good like they say he is they would want more money for him.they seem pretty keen to get rid of him.and am glad our medical team spotted it we don't want to buy a crocked player.ryan

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Agree with this post. If the lad has a fundamental problem anywhere on his body and he breaks down, unless we have paid a ridiculous amount for the insurance - we have just lost £8 mill.
Possibly not even insurable.
Sad for him and us but that's why you have medicals.
Time to move on and look elsewhere, which I am certain we already are.

All that really matters for now is getting three points from the match against West Brom. Then it's onto the match against Aston Villa and getting another three points.
In between is the January transfer window deadline - if we get some incoming deals done that's great, but let's just concentrate on supporting the team at each match and let BK, DM, and the rest of the club get on with negotiations, etc., behind the scenes (hopefully as quietly and successfully as possible). Once a blue, always a blue.

Ed you have been very quiet what's your take on this fer situation and do think the deal will go through speke blue {Ed025's Note - i trust the clubs judgement mate, we cant afford to spend good money on a crock, i still think there is a deal to be done, but it must be on our terms, so if the powers that be think it is right...i will back them all the way..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2013 23:44:29
Unless someone offers crazy money which is highly unlikely, Fellaini will remain after this window a blue. In the door, more to come as this is the big push and Moyse won't sign a contract without pushing the board as much as he can.....he knows he has Bill on side, but his stalling is the only way to pressure the others. He would not leave Everton for Chelsea unless he feels that the board lack the ambition to make us great again. Top four and Fellaini stays unless someone says name your price....outside top four and chances are he will ply his trade elsewhere, but lets be optimistic.....some new recruits and these next two games nothing less than four points, and hoping for six.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2013 23:37:40
You only have to listen to Moyse to realise he would have much prefered that Everton didn't release details of the Fer transfer until we "get over the line." He knew in advance that there would be a rigorous check of the knee condition and that personal terms had to be agreed too. In that case, much better to have asked FC Twente and the Everton authorities to keep things under wraps until all is signed, sealed and delivered. You only stand to look foolish if you announce "deal agreed" and then things go pear shaped. Still think the deal will go through but lessons to learn for future signings.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Jan 2013 23:23:55
Long term knee injury to scupper fer transfer unless they can come up with different terms for transfer deal. Just are luck. Hope it can be sorted fingers crossed. {Ed025's Note - this is what medicals are for...we dont want to buy a lemon!...good stuff by the medical team, and the club..
