must say i have always liked doyle and he seemed to always play well against us. agree his scoring record is not great but he is hardly getting good service at wolves. if we are still in for him at a knockdown price i would be pleased as he does have prem league experience.

Everyone saying that Doyle would only be good alongside a recognised goalscorer and if we sign Jelavic perhaps Doyle could be signed as a potential partner...just a thought.Although I'd rather give our current "strikers" a go first.

Jelavic would be a good signing for a number of reasons. Not only is he a player with talent and a nose for goals (both of which are needed at GP in abundance) but he also shows - should he sign - that we can sign these players and that we can offer sought after players a good opportunity.
I like Doyle's workrate but his goalscoring stats are not exactly breathtaking.
Good riddance to all players Moyes has sold and shifted off the wage bill but now its time to replace, even if we do have to pay over the odds in January.
Hoping for a good cup run aswell. Bpool or Sheff Wed? Ill have that all day!! COYB

The issue with Ba was never the price, it was his wage demands, and I imagine if he leaves, he would want a pay rise, and we couldnt afford his original wage demands (which were near 70K a week).
So no chance, at least Jelavic was on aorund 15K a week at Rangers, so that is very good for us.

Can't keep of the net now waiting to see if we sign anyone, Jelavic mainly. Always seem to end up back here. If we can make a couple of signings and build on the glimmer of desire from Friday we might just end up with somthing to cheer about this year. He's been doing very well in the under-age sides mate (you must have seen the wonder goal he scored)? BackHeel Volley from 18 yards!
He's also just had a call-up to the England u16 side too.

Dont think Donovan counts as its short term and drenche is pretty much out of contract so they might be more loopholes than we know

If Jelavic does sign I think it's a good signing rangers fans say if you supply good crosses he will score goals for you, that's good enough for me that's one thing he will get, we do have a lot of strikers at club if that happens

one of our best players over the past 10 years came from rangers, and didnt do all that well there, mikel arteta so i dont see why people are worried about jelavic also mate hep us with a move for kranjar if thats still on the cards

Arteta was a kid true but Jelavic is better now at rangers than Arteta was when he left. This striker scores goals ours don't. Arteta had flair when our midfield didn't. Just like back then Arteta added something and today maybe so can the jelly man. COYB

He was 19 at Rangers and returned to Spain before he made the step up to the Toffees!!
